CREATIVE THE

CITY PROJECT RETURNS

Central Florida’s signature arts event returns for its 8th year to the heart of Downtown Orlando as The Creative City Project presents “IMMERSE 2021” on October 15th, 16th and 17th with several new installations in the three days of performances.

It takes over the streets and public spaces in Downtown Orlando every October. This year’s event showcases more than 1,000 artists from over 100 arts organizations, including the Orlando Ballet and the Orlando Philharmonic, in the streets and public spaces along Orange Avenue, Church Street and Pine Street on Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., with experiences opening at noon on Saturday. New large-scale, interactive installations make IMMERSE 2021 more immersive than ever.

“The Creative City Project’s annual event IMMERSE is dedicated to creating experiences that audiences can’t have anywhere else,” says Executive Director Cole NeSmith. “Whether it’s a Cirque du Soleil performer flying from a crane high overhead, an immersive orchestral experience that puts the audience at the center of the orchestra, or large-scale, interactive projection experiences, we’re committed to creating a oneof-a-kind experience. We have an amazing group of artistic collaborations this year to create more innovative experiences and unique performances.”

IMMERSE 2021 offers several different ticket options ranging from free to VIP and the special Dinner Party Project Experience. Guests are also encouraged to visit the many bars and restaurants along the event footprint as they enjoy all the experiences IMMERSE offers.

Creative City Project began in 2012 as a group of artists performing on street corners and in plazas around Downtown Orlando. It has now grown into an arts non-profit organization that helps audiences live a life of creativity and adventure throughout the year and at its annual event IMMERSE.

Fall 2021 Exhibitions at the Rollins Museum of Art

Nathan Budoff, Rising Water, 2020

The Rollins Museum of Art is pleased to announce its six-exhibition fall season, open September 18 through December 31. Exhibitions include a dual-presentation by Frances Gallardo and Nathan Budoff; a solo exhibition by Rafael Trelles; American Modernisms, a carefully curated display of the museum’s American art collection; Legends of the Saints, which explores the history and chronicles of the Christian faith; and two interactive exhibitions: Common Ground, a selection of books that prompt an exploration of social, political and environmental issues; and Ally is a Verb, featuring works that address the meaning of allyship and encourage viewers to share stories and diverse perspectives.

The Rollins Museum of Art hopes to engage both the wider community and its campus in a way that provokes curiosity and learning about the world around them. These exhibitions, co-existing, were conceptualized as a rubric for creative teaching around activism and social engagement, the literary arts, environmentalism, and the role of artists in the RMA collection reacting to the world around them.

THE ROLLINS MUSEUM OF ART The Rollins Museum of Art features rotating exhibitions, ongoing programs, and an extensive permanent collection of more than 5,700 objects that spans centuries, from examples of ancient art and artifacts to contemporary art. Open to the public yearround, its holdings include the only European Old Master paintings in the Orlando area, a sizeable American art collection, and a forward-thinking contemporary collection on view both at the Museum and The Alfond Inn at Rollins.
