Ly T. Nguyen, MD

Board-Certified Ophthalmologist, Eye Florida

Dr. Ly Nguyen is a board-certified general ophthalmologist and has been providing state-ofthe-art comprehensive medical and surgical eye care to the Central Florida community for 15 years. She specializes in customized cataract surgery with premium intraocular lens, oculoplastic surgery including eyelid revisions, and minimally-invasive glaucoma surgery including i-Stent implantation.

After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Biology with Honors and Bachelor of Arts in Biomedical at Brown University, Dr. Nguyen completed her medical training and preliminary general surgery residency at the John A Burn’s School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii. Following the step of her mentor, the late Dr. Jorge G. Camara, she completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Colorado Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute.

She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Florida Society of Ophthalmology,

Association of Women Surgeons, and Women in Ophthalmology. She is also a co-founding member of An Bang Professionals, a non-profit organization committed to providing financial assistance to promising high school graduates and underserved communities in the United States and abroad. Dr. Nguyen has also served as a member of the Board of Trustees for St. Cloud Regional Hospital and as Chief of Surgery at Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital.

Dr. Nguyen has received numerous awards, including Top Doctors and Best of Florida as well as being voted as Orlando Style’s Elite Doctors, Top Eye Doctors, and Women of the Year. She was recently selected as the No. 1 Reader’s Choice 2023.

When she is not operating or running her private practice at Eye Florida, Dr. Nguyen enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and reading crime novels.

Marc D. Shapiro, MD Neuro Imaging Winter Park

Marc D. Shapiro, M.D. is a true pioneer in 3 Tesla MRI. He has over 35 years of expertise and compassionate care in Central Florida, twenty of which have been at Neuro Imaging Winter Park. He’s Certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiology and Neuroradiology, providing unparalleled experience and expertise at Neuro Imaging Winter Park. He Graduated from the University of Kentucky Medical School, did his internship at USF Med, and his radiology residencies at UCLA and Mount Sinai HospitalNew York. Marc did his neuroradiology fellowship at Yale, where he remained on the faculty four additional years, becoming chief of Neuro MRI and Head & Neck Radiology at Yale.

Dr. Shapiro was coeditor of the Radiologic Clinics of North America’s Edition on MRI of the Head and Neck. He also authored a chapter on 3T Imaging of the Spine for Magnetic Resonance Imaging Clinics of North America, and a subsequent chapter on 3T

MRI of the Spine in NEURO IMAGING CLINICS OF AMERICA. Dr Shapiro is a member of ASNR, ASHNR, and RSNA. His goal is to keep Neuro Imaging Winter Park at the forefront of neuro MRI and CT, and to treat all patients as VIPs. Dr. Shapiro is unique for a radiologist in that he is happy to discuss results with patients after their scan.

Dr. Shapiro’s dedication to excellence extends beyond patient care. He was honored with the Teacher of the Year award by Yale Radiology Residents and received the Dean’s Distinguished Alumnus award from the University of Kentucky Medical School in 2013. He is on the volunteer faculty at the University of Miami.

Dr. Shapiro enjoys spending time in Winter Park with his wife and 3 dogs. In his spare time he enjoys sports, working out, politics, music, and art.
