MEMBER SERVICES & FACILITIES REPORT
Although this portfolio was affected by many aspects of the COVID-19 restrictions; including the late start to our season’s activities, the portfolio achieved a majority of the planned objectives for the 2020 season.

In recognition of our loyal members with 90% renewal rate being achieved in this unprecedented
Basil Fuller COVID-19 affected season, the club will not be increasing membership fees for the upcoming season with all members set to also receive an exclusive member’s pack upon renewing/signing up as a member in 2021. To thank our Pride and Platinum members in 2020 for their support; to show our appreciation, 15 members were selected at random to win a selection of great prizes as a thank you for supporting the club during these unprecedented times and the reduced home-and-away season. Throughout our 2020 season, although short, we implemented a Members Draw at each home game. Announced prior to the player awards, members had the chance to win a bar card every week, with the value of the card increasing each week if a member was not present to collect their reward. This will be something we look to continue in 2021. As a regular service to our members and fans, the club website continues to release new content weekly, and in collaboration with our weekly in-season Lions News, the Club continues to deliver the latest news and upcoming events coming out of the club. Exposure on the Club’s social media channels continues to retain appeal with public interest in 2020. The Club is proud to release two new memberships for 2021, the first is a Lions Cub membership, catered for 0-4 year old’s and the second is a Subiaco WAFLW Membership. The club will also be offering a ‘reserved seating’ add-on option for seats in the Subiaco members grandstand for 2021. Members will have the opportunity to secure a seat for all Subiaco home games next season for a small fee. To find out more information please visit https://membership.subiacofc.com.au/
MERCHANDISE
Our club selection of merchandise has remained a “musthave” by members as indicated by this year’s sales – featuring ‘specials’ advertised regularly and displayed at home games in our reception Team Store with our current range always featured on our website.
Please keep an eye on our Team Store website at https://shop. subiacofc.com.au/ for all your latest merchandise, with NEW 125 Year Merchandise to be released in early 2021.
FACILITIES
This year’s attention was mainly directed to programmed maintenance of our facility including repainting of the social & function areas, player changerooms and gym with general repairs and replacements on a weekly basis. The TRG (Tuesday Response Group) in fulfilling these operations, assists the club finances and ensures our premises are conditioned to members expectations. The club acknowledge the contribution of the 2019/20 TRG unit members – Basil Fuller (Coordinator), Keith Stone (Foreman) and leading hands – Kevin Smyth, Mick Bailey, Mick Symons, Graeme Wilson, Jim Simmons, Graham Clarke, Colin Button, Frits Vanirsen and Gerry Stokes (now retired).
CLUB MAJOR RAFFLE
This annual fundraising project gives members the opportunity to partner with the club in a project designed to financially support the operations of our community junior clubs that underpins the development programs for young players in our district. Due to changes in this seasons operations; some aspects relating to conducting the raffle were affected, however, a successful result was again achieved with community clubs benefitting from the strong support of the Subiaco membership in this project. The club acknowledges the many sponsors of the raffle for their continued support of our endeavours in relation to community junior football development.
FUNCTIONS & CATERING
Restrictions and the closure of our facility during the year disrupted our operations; with early season events and function bookings cancelled, therefore affecting our forecasted income. However, after a shortened season was announced, the Club hosted a function at each home game, including our popular Ladies Day members event during round four followed by the annual player revue post-game. A Life Members match day luncheon hosted by former club CEO Kim Williamson provided entertaining interviews with Life Members/past players Metro & Siera. Club President Mark Lawrence presented our 2019 Life Member Angelo Porcaro with his Life Members badge on this occasion, with the second 2019 Life Member Clancy Wheeler unable to attend the function.
