BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPORT
Fiona White-Hartig What an unprecedented season for Subiaco and the whole football community in 2020 with the COVID-19 pandemic! In 2020, prior to COVID-19, the Club was set to continue to grow off the field in our third year of transition and change in Business Development, however due to the pandemic this was placed on hold. The Club will look to hopefully bounce-back with the transition due to continue in 2021 as we look to welcome new partners and further implement innovative ideas to help propel the Club forward off field.

It has been an interesting 12 months for our new and existing partners, with each partner playing a crucial part in the survival of the Subiaco Football Club during these unprecedented times. To all the businesses who joined Subiaco as a partner in
Zac Acott 2020, and those who renewed their partnership this year, we thank you for your support and look forward to long and fruitful relationships going forward. We would like to thank Wally Edwards from Holman Industries for their continued support of the Subiaco Football Club in what was Holman’s second year as Principal Partner of Subiaco.
In 2020, we welcomed North Perth Community Bank as Subiaco’s Major Community Partner, we would like to thank Nick Catania and Frank Paolino for their support, and look forward to many more years with the North Perth Community Bank.
To our Major Naming Rights Partners, we thank Michael and Carol Hoskins from AE Hoskins Building Services who have been proud supporters of the Subiaco Talent Pathway, and have so since 2010, celebrating their 10 year anniversary supporting the Club. To our Premier Partners; Phoenix Holden, SKG Radiology and Balls ’n’ All Amusements, thanks for your ongoing support. To all other partners from 2020, we thank you for assisting this great Club. Without our Partners, the Club would not be where it is today especially during these past six to eight months.
COMMUNICATIONS
In 2020, the Club introduced a new Membership and Team Store website whilst also continuing to remain active on social media throughout the 2020 season; even with the delay and shortened Premiership season. Our communications and social media reach has continued to grow as we look to return maximum value from the Club, highlighted by the 1.1k increase in followers on Instagram since last year. With social media being a key form with which to reach our membership and fan base, we will ensure that our fans have every opportunity to show their support for our Club. The Club will continue to push and grow our digital presence throughout 2021 in what will be the Clubs 125th year in the WAFL.
MATCH DAYS
In 2020, although during a COVID-affected season of four home games during the 2020 Optus WAFL Premiership Season, the Club ensured that the game day environments created was of the highest standard; creating a precedent of what to expect at Subiaco home games in the future. An average of 1,912 spectators came to each Subiaco home game this season, an increase of 100 people per game on our 2019 average game attendance; which is a step in the right direction, with the view to build on this for the 2021 season.
APPRECIATION
Thanks goes to Peter Capes, Fiona White-Hartig and the remainder of the Subiaco Football Club Board of Directors for their continued support, guidance and knowledge towards Business Development. To fellow staff members Teigan Freeman, Deb King, Michael Farmer, Kristian Dicton and McKenzie Sheppard, thank you for your support towards Business Development this year. To Will Rollo, Creed Griffiths, Jack Foley and Mark Pisarskis thank you for your assistance in 2020. These individuals have been crucial to the Club’s success in communications and ensuring match days were run smoothly this year. Thanks for volunteering your time and services over some time this year.
LOOKING AHEAD
Whilst we survived 2020; 2021 will be an as-important year with the aftermath of the virus. The Club looks forward to the challenge of 2021 in what will be the Clubs 125th year. Our continued focus is to generate activity around the facilities we have at our disposal to help improve our financial position; especially working with the City of Vincent and East Perth Football Club to obtain naming rights for Leederville Oval.
