We all know this season has been like no other. Many of us missed the footy until the season was able to commence in July. Such a short season felt strange. Nonetheless, congratulations to the Colts team on winning the premiership for 2020. The game was a joy to watch and having the grand final televised helped many supporters who were unable to get tickets for the game to watch it with enthusiasm. Further

A special shout out to the Subiaco Women’s Team who finished on top of the table and played well in the final series this year. The Ladies Forum provides support to the Colts football players to achieve their football aspirations by fundraising for the player’s Scholarship and Welfare Fund, promoting friendship and involvement among the ladies at the Subiaco Football Club, provision of Colts player awards and financial recognition of league milestone players. This year the Ladies Forum continued developing an amalgamation with The Gold’s. All members enjoyed working with the Gold’s and we hope the amalgamation will continue LIFE MEMBERS’ REPORT Four-time premiership player Clancy Wheeler and long-time Club supporter and sponsor Angelo Porcaro were announced at the 2019 AGM on Wednesday 1 December, as the newest additions to the exclusive life membership group. Wheeler was known as a Subiaco Lions fan favourite after establishing himself as one of the most versatile players in the league. Wheeler had won four premierships playing anywhere from the forward line, back line and even the ruck. The Newtown Condingup product has also represented WA throughout his career. 31-year-old Clancy celebrated game 150 against South Fremantle in Round 11 of the 2019 Optus WAFL Premiership Season, before heading overseas mid-way through the season after Round 14. After returning to Perth, Clancy was then selected to play in the to develop further into 2021 so we can continue to support the club.

Whilst we are a small group, we are proud to support the Colt’s in whatever way we can. If you are interested in joining us for a meeting and finding out more, they are held on the first Tuesday of the month at 7pm from February to October. Please contact the club for more details. We welcome all new members.

Sadly, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Ladies Forum were unable to hold their annual fundraising events this year. We were greatly disappointed to not be able to provide the Scholarship and Welfare Fund for 2020. We hope to be able to raise funds in the following seasons to reinstate the scholarship. Fortunately, we were able to provide financial assistance to the Colt’s team for the celebratory lunch held following their grand final win. Lastly, it gave us great pleasure to present Jed Kemp with the Most Consistent Player trophy at the Taylor Award evening. I’d like to extend a special thank you to Jeanne Thomas (Treasurer) who is always available to share ideas with and for all the support from the Gold’s on our shared meeting nights. Thank you to Chayce Creedy, Kristian Dicton and Zac Acott for their continued support and kindness throughout the year. Thank you also to Mark Lawrence, the board of directors and Peter Capes for your support during the year. May 2021 be a successful and enjoyable year for all staff,

players and supporters. 2019 Optus WAFL Grand Final, finishing with a goal, nine disposals, two tackles and three marks.

Throughout Wheeler’s career he has played a total of 154 WAFL league games, averaging 14 disposals, 4 marks and 2 tackles while kicking a total of 109 goals in his career. Porcaro has been a huge supporter of the Club since 1982, assisting the club in organising the Prestige Toyota Sponsorship in 1981/82, as well as being a Subiaco Football Club sponsor himself for the last 20 years commencing in 2000. Angelo is always seen around the Club and has been a GOLDS member for the past 14 years, including serving a five-year stint on the GOLDS Committee during this time. You can always count on Angelo to be at a Subiaco game throughout the season, cheering on the boys whether they are playing either home or away. Both Wheeler and Porcaro accepted their life membership badge at this year’s Life Membership Function where they were officially welcomed into Subiaco’s Life Membership. The Subiaco Football Club congratulates both Clancy and Angelo on this very deserving honour.
