Broadcasting the reactions live at the unveiling

&

billboards stunts having fun with your brand 103.1 HOTFM’s Breakfast duo - Cliffo and Bec joined teams with Paradise Outdoor Advertising to launch their new billboard advertising campaign. Cliffo wanted to use his creative flair to create a new billboard design that would stand out and get attention.

Cliffo engaged the HOTFM listeners for input and ideas into the final design (But it had to be a secret from Bec). Bec said, “The radio stunt was promoted for weeks on air in the lead up and built a lot of hype. HOTFM and Paradise Outdoor Advertising created an event where the new design was unveiled to the town live on air.”

“The Bacon & Eggs billboard generated more talk than any external media I’ve ever been part of. It was huge. Listeners were raving about it. I’m gobsmacked by the results.” - Cliffo

Radio and Billboards go hand in hand. Both mediums talk to you whilst you are in the car. Nine out of ten people leave home each day… so why not turn an audio medium into an interactive and visual one as well!

People were particularly interested as the good looking woman was dressed as an egg! -Cliffo

cleaning up around your business helps you prepare for cyclones.

prepare your business for cyclone season >> The best way for your business to cope with a cyclone is to have a plan before it strikes. Time and clear thinking are luxuries in an emergency situation, which is why it is so important to be prepared. Getting your business ready for cyclone season includes such tasks as developing an emergency plan for your business, organising proper insurance and training your staff in first aid and evacuation procedures. The Queensland Governments ‘Business and Industry Portal’ is a useful website for information to help your business prepare for natural disasters, as well as individual checklists for specific natural disasters like cyclones and storm surges. Visit the Disaster Resilience and Recovery page on the Queensland Governments ‘Business and Industry Portal’ www.business.qld.gov.au.

5. Do you have your business documents and records in a portable waterproof container?

1. How will your business stay connected and keep informed during and after a cyclone event?

6. Have you developed your business continuity plan?

2. Are your staff prepared, have you consulted them?

View the Cyclone and Storm Surge Preparation Checklist on the Disaster Resilience and Recovery page on the Queensland Governments ‘Business and Industry Portal’ www.business.qld.gov.au.

3. Do you have enough stock and equipment in the critical period after a cyclone? 4. Have you checked your infrastructure is in sound condition?

For more information visit the Disaster Resilience and Recovery page at www.business.qld.gov.au.

backup power supply is your business prepared? >> What would happen if your business went without power for an extend period of time due to a natural disaster like a cyclone? Would you be able continue running, do you have backup power supply? To improve your business continuity and reduce the risk to your business during an outage, Ergon Energy along with council’s across the state are urging businesses to prepare for the summer storm season by installing backup power generation.

There are a number of backup power options available to businesses including Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), Small portable petrol/diesel generators and large fixed petrol/diesel/gas generators. It is important to understand your options and put plans into place now before the storm season arrives. For further information about backup power options and generator safety use visit www.ergon.com.au.

storm tide evacuation guide >> The Storm Tide Evacuation Guide will assist you in determining if your business/property is at risk of inundation from a storm tide and whether evacuation is required.

As a local business, council recommends that you: 1. Review the Storm Tide Evacuation Guide on council’s website to determine if your business/property is located in an evacuation zone. Maps on the website are listed by suburb and can be viewed at street level, or 2. Pick up a copy of the Storm Tide Evacuation Guide and coloured zone stickers from one of council’s Customer Service Centres (for detailed mapping please refer to the website). 3. Consider the tips contained in the Cyclone and Storm Surge Preparation Checklist on the ‘Business and Industry Portal’ www.business.qld.gov.au. 4. Familiarise yourself with the local emergency contact details and radio station information.

If your business is located in a coloured evacuation zone, the property may be inundated in a storm tide event. The height of the predicted storm tide during the disaster event will determine which zones will be affected.
