Global Warming?
he Earth has cycled through many phases of warming and cooling over the billions of years of its history due to the greenhouse effect. There are many natural factors that contribute to the greenhouse effect, but most of these occur very slowly over many years.
Pollution Air Pollution Air pollution consists of chemicals or particles in the air that can harm the health of humans, animals, and plants. It also damages buildings. Pollutants in the air take many forms. They can be gases, solid particles, or liquid droplets.
water Pollution Water Pollution is the contamination of water bodies (e.g. lakes, rivers, oceans and groundwater). Water Pollution occurs when pollutants are discharged directly or indirectly into water bodies without adequate treatment to remove harmful
Causes Since CO2 contributes to global warming, the increase in population makes the problem worse because we breathe out CO2. Also, the trees that convert our CO2 to oxygen are being demolished because we’re using the land that we cut the trees down from as property for our homes and buildings. We are not replacing the trees (an important part of our eco system), so we are constantly taking advantage of our natural resources and giving nothing back in return. Natural Causes Natural causes are causes created by nature. One natural cause is a release of methane gas from arctic tundra and wetlands. Methane is a greenhouse gas. A greenhouse gas is a gas that traps heat in the earth’s atmosphere. Another natural cause is that the earth goes through a cycle of climate change. This climate change usually lasts about 40,000 years.
Polar bears T
The polar bear is often regarded as a Marine Animal because it spends many months of the year at sea. Its habitat is the sea ice covering the waters over the continental shelf and the Arctic inter-island. These areas, known as the “Arctic ring of life”.
The polar bear is the largest terrestrial carnivore, twice as big as the Siberian tiger. It shares this title with the Kodiak Bear. The average Adult male polar bear weighs 350–680 kg (770–1500 lbs) and measure 2.4–3 m (7.9 –9.8 ft) in length. Adult females are roughly half the size of males and normally weigh 150–250 kg (330–550 lb), measuring 1.8–2.4 Meters (5.9–7.9 ft) in length. When pregnant a female polar bear can weigh up to 500 kilograms
Body
Hunting
Compared with its closest relative, the brown bear, the polar bear has a more of a long body build and a longer skull and nose
About 500 bears are killed per year by humans across Canada
Russia The Soviet Union banned the harvest of polar bears in 1956, however poaching continued and is believed to pose a serious threat to the polar bear population
