Cong Teves, 2 sons charged with illegal possession of firearms

BAYAWAN CITY, Negros Oriental - Congressman Arnolfo Teves of the third district of this province is facing charges for illegal possession of firearms.

His sons, Kurt Matthew and Axel Teves are also facing the same charges in connection with the recent raid of CIDG operatives to the house of Rep. Arnie Teves in Bayawan City a week ago.
During the raid, operatives
Cong Arnie Teves of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group swooped down into the known houses of the congressman and seized long and short firearms.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) made it clear, however, that the new case has nothing to do with the recent killing of Governor Roel Degamo.
The new case, the DOJ said, was in connection with the murders of several people that happened sometime in 2019. The firearms seized by the government may have been used in crimes in the province in 2019.
