Sarisuki, a social e-commerce platform founded in 2020 as a response to the need for livelihood and connectivity during the pandemic, is committed to enriching lives of new generation entrepreneurs and partner farmers through building an ecosystem that offers supermarket quality products at wet market prices. Currently, Sarisuki services Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, parts of Batangas, Quezon, and Cebu.

AIR21 partners with Sarisuki to lower the cost and ensure consistent supply of fresh produce in ubiquitous talipapa across Metro Manila.

“Our team at AIR21 finds this partnership very meaningful. It’s our privilege to use our decades of expertise in domestic freight forwarding in helping Sarisuki achieve its growth targets. This collaboration is a manifestation of our Luzon backhaul expansion. We will continue to maximize our nautical and road network linehaul in enabling local businesses’ daily operations,” John Casupang, President of AIR21.

As one of the Philip - pines’ pioneers in logistics, AIR21 is committed to providing quality service to its partners across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The said logistics company has 4 major hubs and 68 retail branches. Now backed by Ayala Corporation through AC Logistics, AIR21 is geared towards accelerating technological advancements while improving efficiencies brought by synergies with other AC Logistics companies – Entrego, UFreight, U-Ocean, LGC Logistics, Cargohaus Inc., GMAC CDO, WARM, and IWMI.

“AC Logistics recognizes the need to enhance logistics capabilities throughout the country. We have assembled a full end-to-end logistics solutions portfolio to address the most pressing supply chain challenges, including food security and preservation. We are genuinely excited to see our purpose materialize through this milestone. The entire AC Logistics team is looking forward to growing this partnership with Sarisuki,” Nona Torres, Chief Commercial Officer of AC Logistics Holdings Corporation.

Sarisuki is founded by Brian Cu, Philippe Lorenzo, and Bam Mejia, with hopes of addressing the problematic paradox of consumers experiencing a market of overpriced goods whilst farmers are struggling to make a living.

“At Sarisuki, we strive to positively impact the country’s agricultural sector by finding solutions to lower production costs, helping farmers improve yields, and implementing systems that will lessen overall food supply chain wastage. It’s extremely problematic that farmers are considered the weakest end of the agricultural chain amidst being the backbone of the sector. Through this partnership, we aim to get products from hard-to-reach communities into the hands of consumers in a short time. Combined with the power of Sarisuki community selling, the AIR21 partnership will help create a stronger bridge between farmers and consumers. We hope to build a more inclusive and progressive agriculture industry in the Philippines, one community at a time,” Brian CU, President and CEO of Sarisuki.

DAVAO CITY – The Department of Agriculture in Davao Region (DA-11) has recently turned over a PHP20- million Bamboo Rural Enterprise and Development (BREAD) project to the Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) in Matanao town, Davao del Sur province.

In a Facebook post Monday, DA-11 Director Abel James Monteagudo said the BREAD project intends to upscale the bamboo industry by increasing productivity in the region.

This can be done, he said, by promoting, producing, and processing engineered bamboo as a substitute to the diminishing wood industry in the country.

Agudo said the established bamboo processing hub, handed over to the DSCC on May 19, would also serve as a training facility for the youth, farmers, and other interested individuals.

“Through this project, we are harnessing innovative technologies, implementing sustainable practices, and unlocking new avenues for growth and prosperity, Monteagudo said.

He also called on other government agencies to collaborate and amplify their efforts.

Meanwhile, DSSC president Augie Fuentes lauded DA-11 for making the project a reality.

“It unlocks the potential of the bamboo industry in providing sources of livelihood for rural communities in pursuit of economic development, environmental protection, and climate change mitigation,” she said. (PNA)

“This will not only provide more employment locally, but will definitely enhance our local economy and provide extra revenue to the local government, which can be used to develop our fishing industry. Our local consumers, particularly the poor, are now enjoying cheaper prices of the fish caught by NSPTFC,” Tejano added.

Northern Samar has nearly 1,000 tuna fishers largely dependent on traditional fishing methods to catch tuna in the Pacific Ocean, according to BFAR.

With the fishing vessel provided by the government, the bureau foresees at least a 5.4 percent or 180 to 200 metric tons increase in tuna production in Northern Samar province.

In 2022, the province contributed 13 percent of the region’s total fisheries production and recorded the second-highest yield of tuna production in the region. (PNA) from page 12 to block pirate websites, 27% favor banning the sale of Android TV Boxes provid-

"Site blocking is an effective tool for steering consumers towards legitimate content sources. This, coupled with legislative reform, can safeguard our creative industry, which is a vital part of our economy,” Crisanto said.

The creative industry is a vital contributor to the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP), accounting for approximately 7.3 percent or P1.6 trillion of the gross value-added in 2022, according to data from the Philippine Statistics Authority. However, this figure was already lower than the 7.5 percent reported in 2018, primarily due to piracy.

Globe has long been advocating against piracy through the #PlayItRight program, which seeks support for the

It is part of the Video Coalition of the Philippines, formed last year with key industry stakeholders and the Asia Video Industry Association (AVIA) to champion stronger intellectual property protection in the country. Currently, the IP code's definition of pirated goods excludes electronic or online content. It also lacks provision for the effective blocking of pirate sites.
