The Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of

programs, (recreational, educational, and creative) covering a multitude of age groups and varied abilities. We proudly teach the American Red Cross Learn-To-Swim Program. Class and Level descriptions are available online. Each participant should come in a swim suit or a swim diaper ready to swim. Make-up classes are held only for cancelled classes and on Fridays. Registration open through 2nd day of class.

Advanced Swimming (Level 4 & 5) Focus is on head-first entries from the side in compact and stride positions, swimming underwater, feet first surface dives, survival swimming, front crawl and backstroke open turns, treading water using 2 different kicks, front and back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke, and butterfly, flutter and dolphin kicks on back. Will learn: to look carefully before entering the water, to perform simple non-swimming assists, and about recreational water illnesses and how to avoid them. Class ratio is 1:6.

Kindertots

Learn the basics of tumbling in this intro class. Students learn to do tumbling across the mat, individual skills (forward rolls, cartwheels, handstands, etc.) and balance beam skills. Wear comfortable clothing to tumble in and either bare feet or tennis shoes.
