Thunderstorms were experienced on lOth, 17th and 19th, snow showers and hail also occurring on 19th. T h e unsettled weather continued with few days without rain. •77" feil on 7th, -62" on 14th and -70" on 22nd. T h e longest dry spell was the three days 16th-18th. In all 3-79" of rain feil, being recorded on twenty-two days. Night temperatures feil to + 7 ° C . on 3rd and 4th and to + 9°C. on 30th and 3Ist. After -94" of rain on 2nd a two-week dry period set in with two traces of rain. Temperatures reached + 2 7 ° C . on 5th remained near + 2 5 ° C . until wet weather returned on 19th. rest of the month was cool and wet with -SS" on 19th and on 22nd. Total rainfall was 3-26" falling on fifteen days. Av. Temp. + 1 7 ° C .

SEPTEMBER
The month opened with westerly gales and cool showery conditions. Rain feil continuously on 3rd, 1 -64" being recorded. Showery conditions continued with gales again and prolonged rain totalling -69" on 8th. The period 12th to 16th saw improved conditions with good sunny periods. Severe westerly gales returned during the night of 17th/18th. There was then another improvement with six fine days, with misty mornings and heavy dews.
