Suffolk at Oxford The current issue of “Antenna” (Bulletin of the Royal Entomological Society – Volume 28 (2)), features information about The Hope Library at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History. This impressive resource contains papers by several pioneer Suffolk Naturalists, notably George Verrall and his nephew Jim Collin of Newmarket, but it also holds items by other naturalists who, at one time or another, visited Suffolk. Such visitors include: The Reverend Frederick William Hope (to Aldeburgh) The Reverend Octavius Pickard-Cambridge (to Bury St. Edmunds) John Curtis (to Barham and Southwold) James Charles Dale (to Barham) The Reverend Francis David Morice (to Lowestoft) And possibly many more. Generously, the Hope Library offers study facilities and those interested are invited to contact the Librarian/Archivist: Ms Stella Brecknell The Hope Library, Oxford University Museum of Natural History, Parks Road, Oxford OX1 3PW Tel: 0044(0) 1865 272982 Fax: 0044(0) 1865 272970 E-mail: stella.brecknell@oum.ox.ac.uk
