PROCEEDINGS OF GEOSUFFOLK RIGS MEETING R. DIXON Introduction A meeting of East Anglian RIGS (Regionally Important Geological and Geomorphological Sites) Groups took place on Saturday, 26 May, arranged and hosted by GeoSuffolk, and held by kind permission of the Head of Amberfield School in Nacton. The meeting followed on from the successful inaugural meeting of 2005, the Proceedings of which were recorded in Volume 41 of the Transactions of the Suffolk Naturalists’ Society. It was gratifying to note that 31 delegates attended, with representatives from Essex, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire. The aims of the meeting were to maintain and further develop links between other local RIGS groups, and to demonstrate just some of the wide variety of interests and projects undertaken by GeoSuffolk as a focus for discussion and future co-operation. Bob and Caroline Markham organised the event, and with other GeoSuffolk members are to be congratulated for a stimulating, successful and most enjoyable day. Programme of Presentations The morning and early afternoon were devoted to a series of seven excellent thought-provoking and entertaining presentations followed by a field excursion organised by Bob Markham to Newbourne in the later part of the afternoon.
