COMP A N Y H I S T O R Y Sugar & Bruno (S&B) began as a lifestyle clothing brand with its core in dance. When its doors opened in 2007, it was common knowledge that most “dancewear” companies weren’t producing what dancers really wanted to wear. S&B focused on combining unique wardrobe pieces to create a distinctive look dancers could get excited about. It’s that “distinctive look” S&B is known for today. With input from professional dancers of varying disciplines, S&B created clothing and accessories allowing people to combine those pieces in various way to express their own unique style. Suddenly, it was all the rage for dancers from all walks of life and disciplines to not only express themselves through the art of dance, but through their “look.” The concept took off, and S&B’s designs appeared everywhere, including hit television shows like Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance” and more. After enlisting some of SYTYCD’s top
dancers to help expand their design concepts, the line became an everyday staple among dancers. It didn’t stop there. The demand for S&B’s unique street wear line, custom designed for freedom of movement with fresh, hip style, grew in popularity among non-dancers as well. S&B found that kids wanted to dress like their favorite celebrities, and they could accomplish that by wearing S&B. Today, in addition to its staff of top-level clothing designers, Sugar & Bruno works with an elite team of celebrity dancers and choreographers to create a new line of clothing and accessories each season. They’ve found that as connoisseurs of the dance scene and pop culture, these dancers have their fingers on the pulse of what's next. S&B incorporates their insights on trends, as well as their passion and creativity to communicate something unique in every single piece.
