We’re once again on the cusp of a new fashionable Holiday Season; the newest trends in beauty for this Winter and Spring are not only very simplistic but also fabulous! Every Fashion week displays the most beautiful fashion on its runways and the most beautiful and at times outrageous make-up! These make-up designs are the creation of masters of make-up artistry and in turn every season they dictate the newest beauty trends to the public at large.
The first trend, seen on the runways of Versace (as seen in the pictures), Valentino, Balmian, Alexander McQueen and Marc by Marc Jacobs is the Nude Make-up. “Highlighting and healthiness!” Pat McGrath, head Make-up artist for Versace, said of the flushed cheeks, full eyebrows and “lit-from-within” complexions she created backstage. The main difficulty with this make-up is to create a radiant nude complexion finish that accentuates natural beauty. It is important not to overdo it, rather use a dewy foundation -silicone based foundation is great for this look, as it is easily blended on the face and maintains a dewy finish. A cream blush will also blend naturally and to a sheer dew, apply a bit to the apples of the cheeks and blend towards the hair line. Brows are big and unkempt, on the eyes neutral eye-shadow shades, skip eye pencils but apply a coat of mascara to wake the eyes and a nude lip-gloss or lipstick to complete the look. Remember to set the whole face with a tiny bit of setting powder to make the make-up last.

he next big trend for the season is Strong Vampy Lips. F/W 2011-2012 Fashion Shows were all studded with strong lip makeup looks; every strong color from our favourite red and orange shades to burgundy and dark purple lipstick. Such fashion gurus as Diane Von Furstenberg, Gucci (seen in the picture), Ralph Lauren, Jill Sander and Yves Saint Laurent opted for saturated lip makeup coupled with flawless complexion. The secret to this look is to keep the complexion clean and flawless; the defined lips need to be drawn in with a lip pencil that matches the lipstick, and then a healthy coat of lipstick to finish the look. Keep the lips matte for a more sophisticated look.

he last make-up trend for this Winter and Spring, was seen on the runways of Gianfranco FerrĂŠ, Carolina Herrera, D&G and Stella McCartney, the Strong Eyeliner. The rest of the face, as seen in Marc Jacobs show (pictured on the right), is very clean and fresh; the eyes are the focus of the entire Makeup. The thickness of the eyeliner varies in every show, from the thin lines of Carolina Herrera to the very thick lines of D&G. A hint of blush is applied to the apples of the cheek to resemble a light blushing. Lips remain very neutral. A coat of mascara and at times false lashes finish this look.
