James Keelaghan & Jez Lowe
FOLK Friday, March 27 7:30 PM • From $36
If you didn’t know better, old friends James Keelaghan and Jez Lowe could be twins – each cherished and celebrated songwriters and performers in their respective countries. Lowe, a Durham, England artist, has built an enviable reputation as a songwriter and performer in the world of folk and acoustic music, and as a recognized musical ambassador in the United Kingdom. More than a dozen albums, multiple collaborations and countless live performances around the world over the last 20 years have made Lowe a recognizable figure in the music community. On the other hand, Perth, Ontario-based Keelaghan is an artist who has proven to be a man for all seasons. He is clearly one of Canada’s finest singer-songwriters, writing music inspired by the discovery of people and places in another time. For nearly a quarter of a century, this poet laureate of the folk and roots music world has gone about his work with a combination of passion, intent and curiosity. Together, Keelaghan and Lowe make magic.
