Message from THE GENERAL DIRECTOR As I write this, I have the privilege of overhearing snippets of rehearsal now and again. It is always a thrill to see and hear the assembled artists come together to re-discover, create, and celebrate in some of the most wonderful music in the operatic canon. Mozart’s genius once again reveals itself in The Marriage of Figaro with its intricate plots and subplots wound up by the varied intentions of its multiple characters, good or misguided — worthy of any novel, movie, or play by modern standards. Then, Mozart sets this to extraordinary music that carries and deepens the impact of the emotions and action throughout — heightened despair, frenetic anxiety, a deep longing for love, or even wild comedic abandon arising out of situational circumstances. This opera makes for a night of comedy that rivals the best of today’s sitcoms. Figaro is truly timeless!

It is with this “marriage” of traditional and modern that we will find our Marriage of Figaro at play with. The grandeur of traditional scenery and costumes circa 1786 juxtaposed with a modern, fashion-forward aesthetic set the stage for a timeless story that still provides wonderful social commentary. Whether it be the ongoing class struggle or the lack of agency and empowerment of women that was so controversial when the piece premiered just before the French Revolution, we see how important it is to frame these relatable characters and their challenges to social issues that are still relevant and very current. That is the beauty of art. It really is timeless. I hope you enjoy The Marriage of Figaro! – Tim Yakimec

Everyone is encouraged to put a will in place to ensure that the distribution of their estate is properly planned.

DIRECTOR’S Notes Take a moment now to imagine yourself at the opening night of Le nozze di Figaro: Vienna, 1786. You are aware that Beaumarchais’s play on which this opera is based was denounced by both an Emperor and a King. Scandal surrounds this work, but Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Lorenzo Da Ponte have cleverly couched some of the more direct social commentaries within the piece’s comedy, slipping it past the censor’s gaze. Mozart himself is conducting tonight’s production, seated at the keyboard. From the opening scene, you, the wealthy upper-class opera audience of 1786, are for the first time being asked to view the world and the quest for life’s happiness through the perspective of the servant class. In our production, we seek to capture this feeling of social division in a world more closely aligned with our own present-day, #metoo era. The era of this production is a mashup of 1786 and 2026: we are in an imagined near-future where we see traces of the past mixed with our own contemporary class conflict and cultural references. Here Susanna and Figaro are a different kind of “other” – tattooed and pierced; they represent a counter-culture. Yet, with the power of this story and Mozart’s music, we still go on their journey with them. We are carried away on the whimsy of a romantic comedy where mistaken identities and hearts worn on the sleeves can lead to all range of problems but where, ultimately, love will find a way. – Rachel Peake

(1756-1791) Born on Jan. 27, 1756, in Salzburg, Austria, the composer Mozart was baptized as Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart. He learned to play the piano by watching his older sister receive lessons from their father, who was a court musician and composer. By the age of five, he was composing and could also play the clarinet and violin. Starting in 1762, Mozart’s father took the two siblings on the first of several European tours, where the children performed in various courts. At the age of 17, Mozart was appointed assistant concertmaster for the Royal Court of Salzburg, but later fell out of favour with the Archbishop von Colloredo when he wanted to find more prosperous employment. His need for financial security resulted in Mozart relocating to Vienna, where he composed as a freelance musician. He had become accustomed to a lavish lifestyle, however, and coupled with the AustroHungarian war, often struggled to pay the bills. He married Constanze Weber in 1782, against the wishes of his father, who felt the marriage would cause an interruption in Mozart’s career. Constanze’s mother strongly encouraged the marriage, however, and the couple wed on Aug. 4, 1782. They had six children, although only two survived infancy. In December 1787, Emperor Joseph II appointed Mozart as his chamber composer — a position that was not only an honour, but intended as an incentive to keep Mozart in Vienna. Mozart still travelled, trying to stabilize his finances and popularity, but was unsuccessful. Historians believe that his periods of hysteria, coupled with spells of hectic creativity, may be evidence that he had some form of bipolar disorder. He was quite productive between 1790 and 1791, however, producing works that revived much of his public notoriety. Mozart died of illness on Dec. 5, 1791, in Vienna. Despite the speculation surrounding his death, including poisoning by the Italian composer Salieri, historians suggest there is little evidence to prove that Mozart and Salieri’s relationship was anything more than a professional rivalry. Mozart was buried in a common grave, which was standard at the time for most Viennese, and the exact location remains unknown. Even by 18th-century standards, Mozart died at a young age. And yet, in half a lifetime, he composed over 600 pieces of music, including operas, symphonies, concertos, and single pieces for the piano — there were few branches of music he did not touch.

BRIEF SYNOPSIS
SYNOPSIS ACT I
Figaro, a philandering Count’s Valet, hopes to marry fellow servant Susanna. The Count, however, has been attempting to seduce Susanna much to the dismay of his wife. Together, Figaro, Susanna, and the Countess conspire to get even with the Count with the help of the young Cherubino, who adores the Countess. What ensues is a series of plans, mix-ups, misunderstandings, and misidentifications, all leading to hilarious results for the audience. In the end, the wedding goes through, and the Count gets what is coming to him.
all this while she is re-entering the room unnoticed. After the Count leaves with the Countess, Susanna tells Cherubino to escape out the window while she hides in the closet. The Count and Countess return and both are shocked to find Susanna come out of the locked closet. Figaro arrives, but is followed quickly by Antonio the gardener who is mad that someone (Cherubino) jumped out of the window and trampled his flowers. Figaro tries to play it off as himself who jumped out the window and fakes a limp as Basilio, Bartolo and Marcelina enter and everyone is made aware of the contract to get Figaro to marry Marcelina.
In a room in the Count’s palace near Seville, Figaro measures a room for his new wedding bed, while his bride to be dawns her new wedding hat. Susanna discusses her unease about being so close to the Count’s room as he has been pursuing her lately in hopes to re-enact his droit du seigneur and bed her on her wedding night. Figaro, enraged, resolves to outwit the Count. Meanwhile Dr. Bartolo talks with Marcellina about a contract she possesses saying that Figaro will Marry her instead of loan collateral. Dr. Bartolo agrees to help her because of his vendetta against Figaro for arranging the union of Count Almaviva and Countess Rosina. Bartolo departs and Susanna returns and exchanges passive aggressive remarks with Marcellina before Marcellina departs in a fury. Cherubino then arrives and tells Susanna about how much he loves all women especially the Countess. Suddenly the Count enters Susanna’s room trying to seduce her, Cherubino hides, the count then also has to hide when Don Basilio enters. Basilio tells Susanna that the whole house knows that Cherubino has a crush on the Countess. The Count then becomes enraged when he hears that and then even more enraged when he discovers Cherubino and finds out that he heard his attempt to seduce Susanna. Suddenly Figaro comes in with the entire household to sing praises to the count. The Count is then forced to bless the wedding of Figaro and Susanna. The Count then orders Cherubino to join the army and sends him away, Figaro then mocks Cherubino about how his life is about to change.
Susanna leads on the Count telling him to meet her in the garden later that evening, but the Count flies into a rage when he hears Susanna conspiring with Figaro still. The Count declares his revenge against his own servant. Meanwhile Marcellina, and Bartolo as her lawyer confront Figaro and tell him he must pay back his loan or marry Marcellina at once. Figaro tells them that he can’t marry her without the consent of his parents, from which he was stolen from at birth. His only memory of them is his birthmark which he then shows. Immediately Marcellina and Bartolo recognized the birthmark as that of their son that was stolen away from them, the three of them are joyfully reunited. Susanna sees their celebration and fears the worst but Marcellina sets the whole affair straight, as they all leave, Susanna plans with the Countess on how they will catch the Count in the act of debauchery. Then they have their wedding and everyone is happy… Except the Count.

Later that evening in the garden, Figaro meets Barbarina and he is told about Susanna’s plan to meet with the Count and is enraged. He leaves as Susanna and the Countess arrive dressed as each other. Figaro, upset, goes to speak with the Countess (really Susanna) about the ongoing conspiracy between Susanna and the Count, but recognizing her voice and quickly catches on to the ruse without letting Susanna know. Meanwhile the Count being not as clever does not recognize that the Susanna he is talking to is really his wife. Eventually the Countess reveals herself shaming Count Almaviva. The Count begs forgiveness and apologizing all is forgiven and thus ends the day of The Marriage of Figaro.

When Susanna steps into another room, the Count knocks and is displeased that the door is locked. Cherubino hides in the closet, while Count is let in. The Count, angry that the door was locked demands to know who is in the closet, the countess tells him that it is only Susanna trying on her wedding dress, Susanna overhears

PROGRAM NOTES Beaumarchais’s Figaro and Controversy The Marriage of Figaro was written by French polymath Pierre Beaumarchais, Beaumarchais was at times in his life an inventor, watchmaker, playwright, spy, revolutionary, among other things. It was during his time as a playwright that he crafted two plays that would serve as the basis for two of the most well-known stories in opera. He actually produced a trilogy of works centred around the character of Figaro, The Barber of Seville, The Marriage of Figaro, and The Guilty Mother. The subject matter of Beaumarchais’s original script for The Marriage of Figaro directly pointed to the political views Beaumarchais held and why he would later become a revolutionary. The play was first banned in Austria shortly after Emperor Joseph II viewed it and had the following to say “since the piece contains much that is objectionable, I therefore expect that the Censor shall either reject it altogether, or at any rate have such alterations made in it that he shall be responsible for the performance of this play and for the impression it may make.” So, what was so objectionable to the Emperor? Beaumarchais’s play satirized and leveled pretty direct critiques of the aristocratic class, including a monologue by Figaro railing against inherited nobility. The Austrian Emperor wasn’t the only noble to ban the work; King Louis XVI of France also reviewed the play. He initially banned it despite the protestations of Queen Marie Antoinette.
Mozart Meets the Barber Despite being the second in Beaumarchais’s trilogy of stories featuring the protagonist Figaro, The Marriage of Figaro was the first to be transformed into an Opera. The work was the first of three collaborations between Mozart and librettist Lorenzo Da Ponte; the pair would go on to also produce Don Giovanni and Così fan Tutte. In the case of The Marriage of Figaro, it was Mozart who wanted to use Beaumarchais’s play as source material. Mozart gave it to Da Ponte to convert it into a libretto. Within six weeks, he produced a libretto with the overtly political elements removed, and the language shifted to romantic Italian.
Early Reception The Marriage of Figaro opera premiered on May 1, 1786, at the Burgtheater in Vienna to an audience that, despite the three-plus hour runtime of the original applauded the performers into encoring five numbers. This excitement was met once again in another performance on the 8th of May when seven musical numbers were encored.

Conductor & Resident Conductor Peter Dala began his conducting career 36 years ago with the Basel Ballet. He conducted for seven years at the Hungarian State Opera and the National Ballet of Hungary. As Edmonton Opera’s chorusmaster from 1996 to present and resident conductor from 2001 to present. In 2001 he began his affiliation with Alberta Ballet and was named music director in 2005.

Rachel is Associate Artistic Director of the Citadel Theatre. She has directed across Canada for such companies as Vancouver Opera, Pacific Opera Victoria, Persephone Theatre, Gateway Theatre, Globe Theatre, Western Canada Theatre, Caravan Farm, and the Belfry. A graduate of the UofA and Studio 58, Rachel interned at the Stratford Festival, the Shaw Festival, and the Komische Oper in Berlin. She spent five years as co-Artistic Director of Solo Collective Theatre and four years as resident stage director of Dark By Five. Jean-Pierre, graduate of the U. of A. - BFA Acting and MFA Directing Program, Maître d’Armes of Fight Directors Canada (FDC), & Fellow of the British Academy of Dramatic Combat (BADC). Teaches Stage Combat - U. of A. Dept. of Drama since 1974. He recently returned from a twoweek stint in Mexico to rework his Pirate Fights for the Cirque du Soleil’s production of JOYA, on the Mayan Riviera. Awards include: the Paddy Crean Award - International Paddy Crean Stage Combat Workshop, Banff Ctr., a Sterling Lifetime Achievement Award - the Edmonton Theatre community, a Betty Mitchell Theatre Award - Fight Direction in Calgary, three Tyrone Guthrie Awards - the Stratford Festival. He has done fights for over 40 opera productions and continues to work in Theatre, Film & TV, the Operas, and Ballets, as well as teaching on the National and International scene.
DAVE GANERT Choreographer
Dave Ganert has become one of Canada’s leading choreographers. In 1991, Mr. Ganert joined the Ukrainian Shumka Dancers and performed as a principle dancer and served as Resident Choreographer, Associate Director and Artistic Director. Creative highlights included the touring productions of A Royal Christmas with Julie Andrews, Christopher Plummer, Charlotte Church and Andrea Bocelli. In 2010, Mr. Ganert collaborated with Jean-Marc Généreux, of So you Think You Can Dance Canada, in a tribute piece recognizing the struggle and triumph of people living with Multiple Sclerosis. In 2013, Dave joined the Edmonton Opera as a movement consultant in Eugene Onegin and was the choreographer for the 2015 production of The Merry Widow.

Beginning his career as a lighting technician at the Shaw Festival and working mainly as a lighting designer, Geoff has designed over 200 productions for Carousel Players, Theatre New Brunswick, Neptune Theatre, Northern Light Theatre, the Mayfield, Brian Webb Dance, Mile Zero Dance, Kurt Browning, Leave It To Jane Theatre and last, but not least, Grant MacEwan University, where he taught the mysteries of lighting for 38 years.

Pianist Leanne Regehr is widely recognized for her intuitive ability to collaborate with other musicians across an extensive range of repertoire. She is a répétiteur with Edmonton Opera, and her dedication to the development of young singers has been shown through her work as a faculty member with Opera NUOVA and Cowtown Opera Summer Academy, and as a Coaching Fellow at the Aspen Music Festival. Leanne completed her Doctor of Music in Piano Performance at Northwestern University and is currently based in Edmonton where she serves on the faculties of the University of Alberta and The King’s University, and enjoys her freelance career as a vocal coach, recital partner, and adjudicator.

PROFILES SIMON CHALIFOUX Figaro
French-Canadian bass-baritone Simon Chalifoux calls Alberta his singing home. He performed his first operatic roles in Edmonton for Opera NUOVA in 2014. In 2016-2017 he was part of Calgary Opera Emerging Artist Program. Le Nozze di Figaro will be his Edmonton Opera debut. His most recent performances include: Colline, La Bohème (Puccini); Schaunard, La Bohème (Leoncavallo); Quince, A Midsumer Night’s Dream (Britten). Upcoming performances include The Judge, Another Brick in the Wall and Leporello, Don Giovanni, both with Brott Opera. When Simon is not singing, he does intellectual mediation with people at risk of exclusion; using music and philosophy to promote social inclusion and help develop critical thinking tools.
CAITLIN WOOD Susanna
Alberta-born soprano Caitlin Wood was “absolutely vibrant” and showed “great comic flair” in her debut as Susanna in Vancouver Opera Festival’s The Marriage of Figaro. Caitlin created the role of Ava in City Opera Vancouver’s world premiere of Marie Clements/Brian Current’s powerful opera Missing, showing “exquisite vulnerability.” Caitlin begins this season in Pacific Opera Victoria’s Il Trittico and reprises Ava in the company’s touring production of Missing. Upcoming performances for Caitlin include Cunegonde in Bernstein’s Candide with Edmonton Opera, as well as “Topsy-Turvy,” a concert of Gilbert and Sullivan favourites with Chorus Niagara and Niagara Symphony. Mark Morris called Caitlin’s Comtesse Adele “the standout performance of the evening” in Edmonton Opera’s Le Comte Ory, and as Adele in Toronto Operetta Theatre’s Die Fledermaus, Paula Citron praised her “charming stage presence.”

Count Almaviva
Phillip Addis’ Count, has been featured at the Semperoper Dresden, Opéra de Montréal, Florida Grand Opera, Vancouver Opera, and Pacific Opera Victoria, among others. His signature role, Pelléas in Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande, which he’s performed in Paris, Hamburg, Dresden, Cincinnati, and at the Ruhrtriennale, will next bring him to the Italian cities of Parma, Modena and Piacenza. He is acclaimed as Don Giovanni, Billy Budd, Eugene Onegin, and Rossini’s Figaro. In concert and recital he performs worldwide, most frequently with his wife, pianist Emily Hamper, with whom he is also co-artistic director of the Stratford Summer Music Vocal Academy.
LARA CIEKIEWICZ Countess Almaviva
Recently hailed for her “tour-de-force performance” (Winnipeg Free Press) in the gripping title role of Manitoba Opera’s Susannah, Lara is thrilled to be making her EO debut. This season she also sings Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi)/Suor Genovieffa (Suor Angelica) for Pacific Opera Victoria’s Il Trittico, as a soloist for the Victoria Symphony’s Messiah, and Beatrice (Three Decembers) for the Little Opera Company. Further credits include: Jenůfa (Jenůfa); Tatiana (Eugene Onegin); Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus); May (Ours); Micaëla (Carmen); Cinderella (Into the Woods); Maria (The Sound of Music); Amelia (Simon Boccanegra); Liù (Turandot); Musetta (La Bohème); Sylva (The Gypsy Princess).
STEPHANIE TRITCHEW Cherubino
Canadian mezzo soprano, Stephanie Tritchew is a steadily rising young singer at home in the realms of both contemporary and standard repertoire. A native of St. Catharines, she has been a member of the Yulanda M. Faris Young Artist Program at Vancouver Opera, a Gerdine Young Artist for two seasons with the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, and an Emerging Artist at Calgary Opera. In the 2019-2020 season, Stephanie performs a role debut as Mother in Opera Kelowna’s production of Amahl and the Night Visitors, makes her Vancouver Bach Choir debut as the alto soloist in Messiah, returns to Edmonton Opera to perform a role debut as Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro and makes her Regina Symphony Orchestra debut as the alto soloist in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony.
WHITNEY LEIGH SLOAN Marcellina
Soprano Whitney Leigh Sloan was seen most recently as Alice in Edmonton Opera’s production of Le comte Ory. Previous seasons with Edmonton Opera have included the role of Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Second Maid in Strauss’ Elektra and of Liù (cover) in their 2017/18 production of Turandot. In recent seasons Whitney has been fortunate to perform as a returning artist in feature performances with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, the WindRose Trio, Edmonton Youth Orchestra, Orchestra Borealis and la Cité Francophone.

Award-winning baritone Peter McGillivray has previously appeared with Edmonton Opera as Dr. Falke in Die Fledermaus, Don Magnifico in Cinderella and the Father in Hansel and Gretel. Recent credits include Dallas Opera (Moby Dick), Calgary Opera (La Bohème, Barber of Seville, Pagliacci, Moby Dick and Silent Night), Tapestry Opera (The Overcoat, Rocking Horse Winner), Manitoba Opera (Marriage of Figaro, La Bohème), Pacific Opera Victoria (Fidelio, Barber of Seville, Jenůfa), Vancouver Opera (The Overcoat, La Cenerentola, Albert Herring), Opéra de Québec (Le barbier de Séville, Madama Butterfly) and the Canadian Opera Company (War & Peace, La Bohème and Gianni Schicchi) Upcoming productions this spring include a revival of Rocking Horse Winner with Tapestry Opera in Toronto and a role debut as Germont in La Traviata with Saskatoon Opera. Don Basilio/Don Curzio Kevin Myers, tenor, was born and raised in Deep River, Ontario and completed a bachelor’s and master’s degree in vocal performance at McGill University under Stefano Algieri and Sanford Sylvan. Since then he has been seen across the country performing in operatic, concert and choral productions including Arvo Pärt’s Passio with the choir of the church of St Andrew and St Paul in Montreal, Korngold’s Die Tote Stadt with Calgary Opera, Telemann’s Tageszeiten with the Victoria Baroque Players, and in Opera 5’s Barber of Seville in Toronto. The 19/20 season will see Kevin perform with the Tafelmusik choir, Edmonton Opera and the Kingston Symphony Orchestra.

Antonio
Peter Monaghan, originally hailing from Lethbridge Alberta, is excited to be singing in his home province and making his Edmonton Opera Debut. Peter began this season as Betto, in Pacific Opera Victoria’s production of Il trittico, following that he’ll be playing Antonio from Le nozze di Figaro (Edmonton Opera); The Judge in Another Brick in the Wall: The Opera (Vancouver Opera), and finishing his season, Peter will reprise his role as Beast in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast with Theatre Under the Stars. Some of his most recent credits consist of: Marchese, La Traviata (Pacific Opera Victoria) Kromov, The Merry Widow; Zaretsky/Captain, Eugene Onegin; The Mandarin, Turandot (Vancouver Opera). This past summer you would have seen him on stage in Vancouver where he played Sam Carmichael in Theatre Under the Stars’ production of Mamma Mia.
VANESSA OUDE-REIMERINK Barbarina
Vanessa is an alumnus of Calgary Opera’s Emerging Artist Program and Vancouver Opera’s Yulanda M. Faris YAP. Vanessa’s 2019/2020 season includes Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro with SOLO, Tap:Ex Augmented Opera with Tapestry Opera, Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro with Edmonton Opera, and Messiah with Arcady Ensemble. Recent appearances include Nellie Forbush in South Pacific (Calgary Opera), Josephine in HMS Pinafore (Edmonton Opera), Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 (Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra), Sandman/Dew Fairy in Hansel and Gretel (Vancouver Opera), Lucia in The Rape of Lucretia (Banff Centre/Against the Grain), and Frasquita in Carmen (Edmonton Opera).
CLARENCE FRAZER Count Understudy
Canadian/Korean baritone Clarence Frazer brings his athletic presence and “silky-smooth baritone” to a wide range of roles. An alumnus of Canadian Opera Company’s prestigious Ensemble Studio and Calgary Opera’s Emerging Artist Development Program, Clarence starred as Figaro with Pacific Opera Victoria in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Marcello with Saskatoon Opera in La bohème, Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro with Windsor Symphony, with Southern Ontario Lyric Opera, and with the National Arts Centre Orchestra. Clarence began the 2019/20 season as Marcello in Against the Grain Theatre’s updated production of La bohéme, touring from Yukon to Toronto. Mr. Frazer has displayed his affinity for contemporary opera, portraying William Cormack in Shanawdithit (Burry/Nolan), a co-production of Tapestry Opera and Opera on the Avalon.
NICOLE J. BROOKS Countess Understudy
Alberta born soprano, Nicole J. Brooks, is known for her warm, flexible yet powerful voice. She is a alumni of the Yulanda M. Faris Young Artist Program at Vancouver Opera (2018-2019). Her most notable performance during her time with VOA was as Clorinda (La Cenerentola). Nicole is a graduate of the University of British Columbia (M.Mus 2016, B.Mus 2014) and her roles performed there include Tatiana (Eugene Onegin), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) and Mařenka (Prodaná nevěsta). As the recipient of the Vancouver Opera Guild’s 2019 Career Development Grant, Nicole recently spent three months in Germany, studying the language, auditioning and coaching.

Stage Manager & Director of Artistic Operations As a graduate of the University of Alberta’s technical theatre production program with a specialization in stage management, Ha Neul has worked at theatres and major special events across Canada. She is delighted to mark the 2019/20 season as her 18th with Edmonton Opera, taking over as Stage Manager in 2007. These past 18 years have been an incredible experience, being involved in over 40 productions and in the company’s artistic operations. Ha Neul also enjoys the opportunity to mentor Assistant Stage Managers and Apprentice Assistant Stage Managers for each EO production, and teaches a class in opera stage management at the University of Alberta.

Assistant Stage Manager Previously at Edmonton Opera, Al has assistant stage managed Rigoletto, La Traviata, Les Feluettes, Turandot and The Merry Widow. Other stage and assistant stage management credits include Anne of Green Gables the MusicalTM, Atlantic Blue, Jesus Christ Superstar, Million Dollar Quartet, and Mamma Mia! (Charlottetown Festival); The Humans (Citadel/ Canadian Stage); Crazy For You (Citadel/Theatre Calgary); Matilda, The Silver Arrow: The Untold Story Of Robin Hood, West Side Story, and Alice Through The Looking Glass (Citadel Theatre). He is a graduate of the BFA Stage Management program at the University of Alberta. Al would like to thank his family and friends for their continuing love and support.

Assistant Stage Manager Erika is excited to be working with the Edmonton Opera for the first time on The Marriage of Figaro. Her recent work includes Buffoon (Tarragon Theatre), Anne of Green Gables: The Musical, Mamma Mia!, Kronborg: The Hamlet Rock Musical, Spinning Yarns, Metis Mutt, Ghost Light, Jesus Christ Superstar, The House of Martin Guerre: In Concert (Charlottetown Festival); Rose: A New Musical (Soulpepper Theatre); The Monument (Factory Theatre); Million Dollar Quartet, A Christmas Story, It’s a Wonderful Life (Sudbury Theatre Centre); and Alien Creature (Theatre Passe Muraille). Erika is also the acting Secretary-Treasurer for the Canadian Actor’s Equity Association.
