I noticed that everything in nature is built from modules that are repeated and connected to each other to make up the structure of a plant cell or an atom, etc... So I took a simple module which is a rectangle, mass produced it and interlocked it into each other. Then I introduced another module which is the circle which is notched in all eight cardinal points. I created the structure using these modules plus the use of long horizontal modules in the case of a span. The form of the structure is according to the circulation and program, that is whenever the structure is tilted in a zigzag manner, there would be a stair case. The spaces are attached to the tower and they are made using the same modules. The environmental contribution of the tower is that it stores the cardboard boxes and goods of the sailors on site temporarily so the site will remain clean and organized. Moreover the tower collects the cardboard remains and stores them for the stewart to prepare them for recycling. There is a bridge that comes out of the tower to transport the cardboard boxes from the bay to the tower.

Accidents happen and since my medical unit is an emergency unit for accidental injuries, I intended to let my unit be born from a conceptual “accident that happened to the site itself. Thus there was a fracture in the site and my unit, fractured, emerged from the site having the same materials and texture of the site.Since the site has decayed elements and I want my unit to relate to the site, I introduced elements of decay in my building, such as rusting. In this way my building relate to the site but still it has its uniqueness. The fractured elements will look as floating in mid air with a web of wires holding them together. The interior of the unit is in contrast with the rough exterior; it consists of curvilinear forms reflecting relief and healing thus creating a comfortable place for the doctors and the patients.
