9
UNIBO
Background Unlike foreign countries, the proportion of hanging clothes in balconies and other indoor space in Taiwan is very high. But, many households’ clothes hanging spaces are not well-designed, leading to bad clothes hanging experience and much inconvenience.
Interview By cooperating with IKEA, we got the chance to visit some households that hanging clothes indoor. We observed their clothes hanging space, procedure of doing laundry, and ask about their problem they encounter during doing laundry and hanging clothes
10
11
Problems After observing each households’ clothes hang space, we discovered that the clotheshorses do not fit with the clothes hanging room in most households. Some households’ balconies are too narrow, so clotheshorses on the market are too short for them; some households’ balconies are wide and short, so clotheshorses on the market are too narrow for them. To sum up, they can not find the clotheshorse totally fit their balcony on the market.
12
Insights After visiting some households, we got some insights: Adapting to different spaces Like to D.I.Y Clotheshorse on the market can not fit their space
Purpose By clarifying users’ problems and marketing insights, we set the goal of developing a clotheshorse which can adapt to various spaces.
Key After consideration, we believed that “modularization” can be the solution. Because modulizing the clotheshorse can make users assemble clotheshorse to the length and width they want at their pleasure. And users also can have fun during assembling.
13
Sketch We divided a clotheshorse into several parts, and user can assemble a clotheshorse which fits user’s needs with these parts.

15
Modeling We first modeling our product in Solidworks, and print it out by the 3D printer. Then, we polished each part and spray paint them.

Product Design 02 Umbrella Dryer
21
ETISIC Background Taiwan is a wet and rainy country. After getting indoor with a wet umbrella in rainy days, drying and storage an umbrella are common problems. People usually drying an umbrella by opening it and laying it on the floor. But this way not only interferes the usage of the space, but also makes the floor wet, might leading to the potential hazard of slipping.
Survey & purpose Although there are already some umbrella dryer on the market, most of them are designed for department store or some public space, and can not fit with folding umbrellas. So the purpose of design is to design a umbrella dryer for family, and can be suitable for either stick umbrellas or folding umbrellas.
22
23
Sketch After having so many sketches, in the end, I decided to develop the last idea below, although it was the most imaginative idea.
24
Modification By cooperating with IKEA, we got the chance to visit some households that hanging clothes indoor. We observed their clothes hanging space, procedure of doing laundry, and ask about their problem they encounter during doing laundry and hanging clothes
25
Final product The product is called "Etisic", which takes from the words "good' and "dry" in Latin , hoping to give user a good drying experience. And the side of the product looks like an "E" ,which is the first alphabet of Etisic.
