As we entered Tiger’s Milk Umhlanga, we could not help but marvel at the vibrant atmosphere and tasteful interior design. From its eclectic lighting and bold neon signage, to its modern contemporary decor and chic central bar area, this restaurant is truly a tantalising fusion of culinary finesse and dynamic design.

Our foodie fiesta commenced with the appropriately dubbed ‘Big Fat Greek Flatbread’ - an authentic Mediterranean flatbread topped with zatziki, halloumi, red onions, tomato and olives. Bursting with fresh and zesty flavours, this dish was the ideal sharing starter!

we indulged in the Green Peppercorn Burger. Served on a buttery toasted bun, the patty was incredibly juicy and succulent, in a creamy dreamy spiced peppercorn served with crispy hand-cut fries - utter After hearing rave reviews about Tiger’s authentic wood-fired pizzas, we decided to ‘The Darling’ - a crisp and moreish pizza ped with tender chicken pieces, sweet and padew piquanté peppers, crumbled feta avocado. Sweet, spicy and utterly we can confirm that the hype around Tiger’s Milk pizzas is well and truly justified!

Ending our meal on a sweet note, we opted for perfectly blended cappuccinos and a slice of ‘The Wortel’ - a decadent carrot cake served with a generous scoop of walnut ice cream. The sweet and fluffy sponge was perfectly complemented by the rich and creamy walnut ice-cream - a match made in dessert heaven!

From its sterling customer service and delectable cuisine, to its upbeat and vibey atmosphere, Tiger’s Milk Umhlanga is an absolute must for those in pursuit of the extraordinary.

Having amassed significant success in both the legal and property development arenas, with NCA Attorneys and Saxony Developments respectively, the Naidoo family merged their lifelong appreciation of premium blended coffee with their natural business acumen, to create Saxony Coffee Co., an innovative haven and free space for coffee connoisseurs and food enthusiasts alike.

Q) Tell us a bit about Saxony Coffee Co

Saxony Coffee Co is a fusion of my father’s industry expertise and my entire family's inherent love of authentic, premium coffee We wanted to merge our collective passions to create a free space in a central location where people can get together to grab a coffee, socialise and connect in a beautiful setting

I am the Head Barista at Saxony Coffee Co I am a Level 1 Certified Barista, and I completed my training at Truth Coffee in Cape Town

Q) What inspired your vision for the café? My family and I travelled to the illy flagship store in Milan, Italy They made the most beautiful cappuccinos we have ever tastedthe milk was steamed perfectly, the coffee was blended expertly, and it inspired us to bring that same coffee shop vibe to Durban

Q) Insider scoop on your magic coffee beans?

As a barista, you have to be passionate about what you do We use high quality imported coffee beans from illy international I train my baristas to be meticulous with their work, and to maintain the renowned illy international standard with every cup of coffee they serve

Q) What made you venture into the coffee scene?
