Highland Valley Copper Community Investment Fund
Teck Highland Valley Copper (HVC) is committed to supporting vibrant, safe and sustainable development in the region. A Community Investment Fund has been established to build capacity and affect meaningful change within our communities. To ensure that funding will deliver the long term bene t and address important community goals, HVC has chosen to focus support in ve priority areas:
Community – programs and initiatives designed to enhance social and economic sustainability, including support for social enterprise, community subsistence activities, and employment initiatives. This also includes the support of relevant community and Aboriginal organizations focused on social and community programs, recreational activities, and events where the main goal is to promote community spirit and wellness.
Education – programs and initiatives designed to enhance access to educational resources and training opportunities, including early childhood education, primary and secondary schooling, life-long learning and literacy.
Environment – programs and initiatives designed to support and enhance environmental sustainability and biodiversity, including water conservation, wetlands protection and enhancement of sh and wildlife habits, ora and fauna.
Arts and Culture – programs that include music or dance elements, visual and performing arts, language and culture preservation or revitalization and cultural events that foster creativity or diversity.
Health – programs that improve the status of health in a community, including child and maternal health, access to health services and reduction in the prevalence of disease. This includes the support of health and wellness programs, such as social support, emotional health and well-being, and outreach programs.
If you have a project, program or initiative that aligns with one or more of our focus areas and will contribute a sustainable bene t to your community, you may be eligible for Community Investment funding.
Assessment Criteria
• Alignment with one or more focus areas • Detail of proposed project and budget • Clear and measurable outcomes • Support of community goals • Project sustainability • Local impact
What HVC does not fund
Contributions to individuals Organizations that may pose an ethical, cultural, safety or other con ict with HVC’s core values Religious organizations (except for secular activities open to those of all faiths) Political organizations Advocacy and lobby groups Projects in communities outside of HVC’s area of in uence.
Application Process
Funding requests are to be made on the Community Investment Application Form. Application forms are available by contacting HVC: HVC.CommunityInvestment@teck.com or 1-855-523-3429. Members of the Community Affairs Team are available to support with the completion of application forms.

Each funding application received will be acknowledged in writing within ve workings days. Applications will be reviewed monthly by the HVC Community Affairs Team and funding will be allocated quarterly. Following the review process applicants will be noti ed regarding the outcome of their funding request. All successful applications will be required to submit a nal report on project outcomes.
