Women and Finances Corporate America is best defined as the world of corporations and “big business” in the United States. For centuries we have witnessed this world of products, goods, and services that drive and sustain the lives of American people being male dominated. Despite the fact that legislation provided employment opportunities and pay equal to men in 1920 for women who desired to work, women were still not kindly received in the financial sector. To help remedy this, a group of Wall Street women called Financial Women’s Association (FWA) was formed in 1956. Their goal was to advance professionalism in finance and in the financial services industry with special emphasis on the role and development of women, to attain greater recognition for women’s achievements in business, and to encourage women to seek career opportunities in finance and business.

Live Your Best Faith is believing that you already have what you’re hoping for; it’s pulling God’s promises from the spirit realm into the physical realm.
J
oshua 5:6 states, “The Israelites had moved about in the wilderness forty years until all the men who were of military age when they left Egypt had died, since they had not obeyed the LORD. For the LORD had sworn to them that they would not see the land he had solemnly promised their ancestors to give us, a land flowing with milk and honey, (NIV).” And, just as Israel wandered in the wilderness for forty years, many Christians waste precious time struggling in the wilderness of self-effort before they learn to obey God if they desire to live their best life. Only when we learn to yield to God and trust Christ do we begin to enjoy the provision that God has for us. Once Moses led the people out of Egypt, the next area in their journey was the WILDERNESS. In reality, they could have crossed the Wilderness in about 40 days -- but the Bible says they wandered in circles for 40 years! The people were disobedient, lacked faith, and in general had rebellious attitudes. In every way, the Wilderness describes the aimless life of a carnal Christian. It is a picture of “self-effort” vs. walking in the Spirit. God had delivered them from bondage in Egypt, (the place of not enough), and transitioned them into the wilderness, (the place of just enough). However God did not intend for them to stay there, His will was for them to access Canaan, (the place of more than enough). They were delayed in living their 16 | GOOD DEEDS
God puts His promises out there for anyone. Who will receive His promises? best life in Canaan due to sin, disobedience, lack of faith, rebellion, and sexual sins. These sins delayed Israel’s progress and caused them to go in circles for 40 years. They were also delayed in accessing their best life due to their murmuring and complaining. Israel wearied God through their constant complaining. Complaining is a form of doubt and unbelief. It’s like saying, “God, I don’t think you’re going to come through in this situation.” Because of their doubt, they wandered around the wilderness for forty years and died out. However, God raised up another generation to access the Promise Land and they entered and accessed their best life. The Promised Land is a picture of God’s will, His provision, and ultimately heaven. I want to give you some important keys
for accessing your Promised Land or should I say your best life now. First of all, you must Live by faith in God’s Word – one of the most important keys for possessing your Promised Land is the habit of putting faith in God’s promises. God told Joshua that the source of His courage would be meditating in God’s Word (Joshua 1:8). God’s Word is filled with awesome promises for every imaginable need. There are promises for food, clothing, housing, business, children, protection, guidance, confidence, healing, and on and on! God’s promises are your “connection” to His resources. Another vital key for possessing your Promised Land is walking in the Spirit vs. the flesh (Rom 8:1-6). Walking
the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.” The children of God heard His word and promises, but they didn’t receive anything from God because they didn’t combine what they heard with faith. They never obtained what God promised them because they walked in unbelief instead of faith. So what exactly is faith? Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” in the “flesh” is when you do what “you” want, when you want, and how you want. It includes everything from what some might call gross sins to an attitude of just “doing your own thing.” You could call this type of living the SELF-LIFE. This is the very thing that caused Israel to wander in circles for 40 years! On the other hand, God wants His people to walk in the “Spirit.” I’ve heard all kinds of definitions for this, but to keep things simple, walking in the Spirit is when we endeavor to live in a yielded state to God’s influence in our lives. You could refer to this as the SPIRIT-LED life vs. the SELF-LIFE. Walking in the Spirit really starts with an inner attitude that says, “Lord, I want YOU to lead me and guide me. I have my own ideas about things, and others may give me their input, but ultimately I want YOU to direct my decisions.” Thirdly, let the grace of God increase more and more in your life – 2 Peter 1:3 says, “Grace and peace be multiplied unto you.” The concept of “grace” can be defined in a number of ways. Here are two definitions that I like: 1) Grace is God’s unmerited favor, and 2) Grace is God’s ability and enabling power. Romans 5:8 says, “For God commends His love toward us, in that, while we were
yet sinners Christ died for us.” Thus, it was God’s ability and His enabling power that “saved” you. And guess what? The same principle of grace holds true in every other aspect of your Christian walk. Hopefully, you will eventually learn that walking in the Spirit is more about YIELDING to His grace than about STRIVING. Ask God to help you learn how to yield to His ability and enabling power. Let His grace (His ability and enabling power) multiply more and more in your mind and heart. Take time to pray about things; take time to go to the Bible and find out what God says about your situation. Make it your aim to let God work in you and through you instead of “you” trying so hard in your own self-effort. Admittedly, this takes time and spiritual growth. But the sooner you learn this key, the faster you will experience the Promised Land, and the easier things will be! Ask God to teach you the secret of yielding to His grace vs. your own works (Heb 4:9-11). Lastly, once again faith in God is the key to accessing your best life. Combining the Word (Promises) of God with Faith is essential. Hebrews 4:2 explains about the people of Israel, “For indeed
Faith is believing that you already have what you’re hoping for; it’s pulling God’s promises from the spirit realm into the physical realm. God puts His promises out there for anyone. Who will receive His promises? Those who believe in faith that God is Who He says He is and that He’ll do what He’s said He’ll do – no matter what the circumstances around them look like – they believe and obey anyway. We live our best life by living a life of Faith.Pray this prayer aloud...... Father, thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for my sins. I accept His sacrifice and commit my life to Him. I want to possess all that You have for me. Help me “enter” my Promised Land and walk in the assignments that You have for me. Thank You for Your great love in my life. In Jesus Name – Amen.” Now move forward in faith and access your very best life NOW! Corene Johnson AKA “The Purpose Pusher www.drcorenegreen.com

How to Love Yourself Dr. Renee Sunday
It is possible to love yourself. Even with years of people constantly trying to bring you down, you can learn how to put aside those people and move on with your life. In many cases, people are not trying to bring you down on purpose. They think they are helping you by telling you what they really think about what you do and who you are.
T
he first step in finding that inner self-love is to stop worrying
about what others think. You can’t change that. It is not within your control. So why worry about it? If there are people that don’t like you, that is not your problem. It is theirs. They won’t get to know you which is their loss, as well. The second step is to actually say to yourself, “I love who I am.” Do it every day and even say it out loud. It becomes an affirmation that makes you start to believe it after doing it for a while. Next is to force yourself to be happy even when you’re not. Studies have shown that you can shift your mood by simply shifting your inner voice to tell yourself that you are happy. Being happy as often as possible is crucial when loving yourself.
