Clinton County Fair celebrates 50 years

Clinton County Fair, celebrating its 50th anniversary, kicks off Friday, July 29, and runs through Aug. 5.

In addition to a host of 4-H and agriculture-based shows and events, the fair will feature Ron Beck’s Baby Animals in the South Side Dairy Barn, daily Bingo games, the crowning of the 2023 Clinton County Fair Queen, and a daily anniversary celebration in the Commercial Building at 5 p.m.

Clint’s County Fair Diner will open daily at 7 a.m., and there also will be nightly drawings at the Auxiliary Stage at 9:30 p.m. Participants must be present to win.

The fairgrounds, located at 98 Racetrack Road, Mill Hall, offer ample parking for visitors as well as an open campground for tents, trailers and RVs.

FRIDAY, JULY 28

• Entry for youth beef, sheep, hogs, goats, poultry and rabbits, 7 a.m. to noon

• Antique tractor registration, 1 to 8 p.m.

• Registration of open agriculture, youth, Grange, group exhibits and home economics, 4 to 8 p.m.

SATURDAY, JULY 29

• 4-H horse & pony round-up, 8 a.m.

• Open goat show, 8 a.m.

• Bill Yost Memorial Horseshoe Tournament, 8 a.m.

• Open rabbit show, 9 a.m.

• Small Pavilion — First Responders Exhibit, 1 to 5 p.m.

• Main Stage — Opening ceremony, 3 p.m.

• Main Stage — Crowning of the Clinton County Fair queen, 3:30 p.m.

• 4-H & Open Exhibit Building — Chili Cook-off judging, 4 p.m.; registration begins at 3:30 p.m.

• Auxiliary Stage — Aaron Kelly, 7 and 9 p.m.

• Racetrack — Figure 8 and demolition derby, 7 p.m.

• Fireworks to follow nightly drawing and derby

SUNDAY, JULY 30

• Main Stage — Worship service, 8:30 a.m.

• Main Stage — Little Princess Contest, 11 a.m.; registration begins at 10:30 a.m.

• Clinton County Youth and FFA beef and dairy show, noon

• Main Stage — Corn hole tournament, 3 p.m.; registration begins at 2 p.m.

• Auxiliary Stage — Jeff Krick Jr. Elvis tribute, 4 and 6:30 p.m.

• Pulling Track — 4x4 truck pulls street & hot classes, 5 p.m.

MONDAY, JULY 31

• Clinton County Youth and FFA sheep show, 11 a.m.

• Clinton County Youth and FFA rabbit show, 5 p.m.

• 4-H & Open Exhibit Building — Chocolate baking, junior baking, blue ribbon apple pie and angel food cake auction, 6 p.m.

• Auxiliary Stage — Sugar Valley Rural Charter School FFA, opening and closing ceremonies and speakers,

• Main Stage — Queen of Hearts, 8 p.m.

TUESDAY, AUG. 1 — PA LOTTERY & SENIOR CITIZENS DAY

Adults age 60 and older admitted free all day
