2012 Dear NOFA-NJ Ambassadors, Thank you for your dedication to NOFA-NJ and your willingness to help launch our first cohort of Regional Ambassadors and bringing more local support to our NOFA-NJ members across the state. We appreciate your motivation to dive into this initiative and help us figure out how this position can be most effective. We look forward to hearing from you on how you think the regional representative positions should evolve to help grow and support the NJS organic movement. If you would like to serve as an ambassador for your region for our first year, please let us know by emailing Alison Romano, Director of Outreach and Development, at aromano@nofanj.org, or register to join the Ambassadors Committee online at http://www.nofanj.org/nofa-nj-ambassador-committee. In 2012, we hope to develop the role of the NOFA-NJ Ambassadors to help grow our programming in your region. While the specific responsibilities may differ based on regional needs, the overall plan for our 2012 regional representatives includes: Supporting Membership Growth: Help coordinate volunteers to staff membership drives in the month April (Earth Day Month) or May (Food Revolution Day) and September (Local Food Month).  Coordinate 1 membership drive / earth day event (promoting NOFA membership)  Coordinate 1 membership drive / local food movement event (promoting NOFA membership)  Promote membership growth in region to help NOFA-NJ achieve 2012-2013 membership goals Supporting Local Organic Farms: Help promote the local food movement and host regional workshops.  Host 2 field workshops in your region  Coordinate local food movement involvement ( coordinate a county captain & blog) Grow NOFA-NJ’s Presence in your Region: Help raise NOFA-NJ’s visibility through community events.  Coordinate local volunteers to staff NOFA-NJ outreach tables at local outreach events (festivals, county fairs, sustainable events) etc. The compensation will hopefully be available pending some grant opportunities and will be slated to increase with our expectations in the near future. We look forward to learning more from you about your vision for NOFA-NJ’s Ambassador activity within your region. Please consider whether you would like to join us in 2012 and how NOFA-NJ can better support you! Sincerely, Camille L. Miller Executive Director
