APARTMENT IN INDORE

ENTERTAINMENT ZONE AT INIFD, INDORE - “FUNADDA”

APARTMENT IN INDORE

ABOUT THE PROJECT Located in one of the prime residential spaces in Indore- India. This 1000 sq. ft. apartment envelopes two bedrooms with a living dining area and a kitchen. The space is tailor-made for Mrs. & Mr. Dilip Joshi and their son. As the clients were NRI’s and they visited only 2-3 months in a year. Hence it was designed in a manner that every time they visit, they should be welcoming and feel same comfort and luxury as they had in Singapore. The entrance lobby having a large console table with travertine stone top and some artifacts and the Italian stone flooring keeps the things interesting. The other wall is covered with a wallpaper which embraces the whole area and gives warm feeling. In the living room, combination of browns and whites is used in the lcd unit with a backlit acrylic cutout panel. The accent chair placed on side of the sofas is an eye-catching element. The partition, between dining and living area having little lemon shapes forming a flower composition, is to divide both areas in themselves. Chandelier hanging from wooden ceiling on to the dining table makes all enjoy the dinner with little conversations. A console on the corner is finished with veneer. one big challenge for me was the client wanted the bedrooms to look bigger, even though having a small area for it. So we got to a solution and used colour pallet of white and a little highlights with walnut brown color veneer.

CONCEPT F U R N I T U R E L A Y O U T P L A N

The open design here allows the color scheme i.e. white and brown to spill throughout the apartment making the whole space feeling unified. Italian stone is used for the flooring all over the apartment which goes well with the furniture. Minimalist design is becoming all the rage especially in apartments where space is often scarce. The design concept explores simplicity and keeps home clutter and space free. Less is more in these stunning designs keeping the space open and clean. Only necessary elements are used to occupy and stylize the space.

FUNADDA- ENTERTAINMENT ZONE

ABOUT THE PROJECT Funadda is basically an entertainment zone, a 486sq.ft. area situated in Indore, one of the town in Madhya PradeshIndia. Being passed out student of INIFD institute, the client came up to us with an idea to make an entertainment zone of contemporary design for students and with less investment to make in it. Idea was to make an area for students to relax and have endless conversations with friends. Colors being used in this zone are pastels blended with rustic finishes.

PANORAMA VIEW A very casual and happening place it should sound, so being designed that way. A portion of wall being given to interior and fashion design students to design it their style by themselves. The ambience of the zone is very energetic and positivizes the person becau -se of the colors being used here.

Cubes one on the another in threedimensional form being designed and painted by our hands on site because that should come out perfect. It is being done on the wall that can be seen at first as we enter this area. Toilet doors are also being desing -ed with the geometric pattern that it goes well with the interiors.

BEST OUT OF WASTE The materials being used in the false ceiling is rope and bamboo sticks. The rope being colored with the color scheme going in the whole area and bamboos inserted in it. The two grey color frames hanging on the wall with a patch of grey color paint on it gives a soothing background to the sitting over there. The paintings with the three dimensional effects on wall is the

The walls being punctured to have a big size window having angular wooden frames looks aesthetically appealing. The total height of the area is very low, therefore ropes and bamboos used in false ceiling and lights being hanged on to the table tennis and pool table to have proper amount of vision. The name “Funadda” is a combination of two words “fun” means enjoyment and “adda” means a place which is actually a hindi word. Therefore, the name came out is very appealing in all aspects.

The unfinished rectangular shaped raw pine wood blocks being directly placed on the wall with no particular form. The combination of pastels colors sea green and yellow color has been painted randomly on the blocks which is balanced effectively. Pool stick holder is incorporated within the lcd unit itself. The finishes on the wall are kept simple by white emulsion paint.
