Dog House with a Twist When John Carnett was building his own home, he felt his dog Pearl should have a new home too. John designed a new dog house for Pearl with the use of AutoCAD, and by incorporating green technologies, as well as environmentally friendly components. One of the green technologies he used was SunMaxx Solar’s ThermoPower Evacuated Tube Solar Collectors, shown here, it is a fully-functioning demo kit . This is a great choice to use in this non-traditional pet home to create a solar hot-water radiant-heating system. The solar hot-water radiant-heating system is floor radiant heat produced from glycol circulating through the evacuated tubes, once it is heated, it then circulates through the copper piping in the floor, and heats the hard wood floor inside of the dog house. Due to the size of the dog house, and the use of copper pipes transferring the heat to the concrete backing board below the hard wood floor, the dog house is kept sufficiently warm for this beloved pup.
