Either way it was always going to be a career within the medical field andtheKatikatischolarheadsoffthis month to begin making that a reality, aided by the BOP Education Trust. Murray,whowill bestudyingat Victoria University,wasoneof 19 students who last week received a BOP Education Trust science, technology and emerging industries scholarship

Murray is the daughter of Brett Murray and the late Billie Murray BOP Education Trust chairman Nick Earl said thetrust,which has been operating since 1985, was firmly committed toinvesting inthetertiary educationof the Bay’syoungpeople. Butwhenthecommitteereachedoutto theKatikaticommunitywithitsplight toraisethe$7000againtogetthecarpet laid–itresponded,andquickly.Thelost $7000wasquicklyraisedviaaGivealittle
pageanddonationsdirecttothetoy library.
“Iwasjustblownaway,”saidGoode. “Thecommunityjustgotrightbehindus.” Goodesaidthecommitteewant tothankKarenVigusfromGiles& Associates,theKatikatiCommunity Board,KatikatiLions,andKatikati ChristianCentrewhoallmadesizeable donationstowardsthecarpet.
“We’dalsoliketothankallthepeople whodonatedviaGivealittlepage–we believesomeofourmembersdonated throughthisandeverylittlebitaddedup andmeantwewereabletoreachourgoal –wearejustsograteful!”

Primaryhealthcareorganisationswereworking withgeneralpracticestoencourageenrolment basedoncapacityconstraintsandlocalpriorities, hesaid.HealthNZwasmonitoringwhichgps hadclosedbooks.HealthNZreviewedcapitation fundinginlinewithcostsyearly.
“Thisyear’sannualupliftwas4%,witha7.76% increaseinaverageallowablefeeincreases,giving acombinedaverage5.88%totalrevenueincrease.
