Selected site has been divided into three districts. District 1 : This district marks the start of industrial zone and the most recent residential development done under PCNTDA District 2: This has the residential development which started around 2007 when the national highway was fully constructed. District 3 : Old town, which majorly has houses and daily need shops like vegetable market, fruit market, etc. LEGEND:

Majorly there are ground floored structures. Residents did not want to leave their space so they have extended floors.The newer group development height extend upto G+4. The length to breadth to height ratio is too high which makes the spaces very claustrophobic. The industrial zone has both old and new structures. The older ones are ground floored structures while the newer ones are mostly long span or PEB structures and have height upto G+3

Development of the bhosari started from the old gaothan area and later spread due to surrounding opportunities like national highway, alandi road and dighi road which provided better transport facilities. Many structures have been rebuilt for better infrastructure. Majority of development took place after 2007 after the national highway was properly built.

Inference There are 50% houses in the whole district. Industrial zone starts from the area behind the site. There are commercial vehicle repair shops and petrol pump along the national highway. Road to alandi and dighi has mixed-use structures where there are shops below and houses above. Public utility areas like mangal karyalaya, colleges, etc are present. Public spaces like playgrounds, hospitals, temples, library, etc. have been scattered throughout the the area. There is one water tank present in the industrial area and old town each.

Existing Character The old town consists of total 13 major temples each having its significance and are centers for many cultural festivals. The old town area has a variety of different houses which include new RCC houses and 50 to 100 years old brick houses with traditional timber balconies and elevational design. This area is a very culturally vibrant area which shows the traces of the rich cultural heritage and history of bhosari. The new town has many closely packed houses with two major roads and some narrow streets most of them functioning as mixed use buildings. Majority of the population staying in this area consists of middle income and low income group. The industrial area has mainly automobile industries and some steel industries some being old G structures and some new long span and PEB buildings.

Residential Apartments Design THE BASICS For the project a parcel of land is selected on the river front near Warje, Pune. The site is well connected with the road on three sides. It admeasures 9 Acres with a playground reservation of 2 Acre. Number of units of each typology is being determined by the location, demographics and the mix required. Considering the increased floor area and the price of 3BHK and 4BHK, it is mandatory to provide them with desirable views, hence these apartments are sited on the prominent areas of the site. Rest of the apartments of typology 1RK, BHK, and 2BHK are widely distributed in 4 different blocks.

PLANNING The planning revolves around the central core flanked laterally by the fire exits. The placements of the workstations are throughout the periphery, enabling better lightining and views thoughout the day. Atrium in the middle of the building decreases the use of artificial lighting. No openings are provided on the south. Artificial gardening on the refuge floor aims towards a green building.

THE BASICS Indore is a major city and commercial center of the state of Madhya Pradesh in central India. It is the largest city of Madhya Pradesh, the 16th largest city in India and the 147th largest city in the world. It is also the commercial capital of the state.For the project a parcel of land is selected near river Saraswati near Kalyani mill, Sukhlia, Indore. The site is well connected with the road on two sides. It admeasures 6.7 Acres. Prominent site potentials are ample Vegetation which can be used for pre-cooling and gradual contour of 1:40, can be utilised for directing rainwater.

Strategy: The Egg Crate Wall can be used to resist the harsh sunlight from all the sides. A combination of vertical and horizontal shading elements commonly used in hot climate regions because of their high shading efficiencies. The horizontal elements control ground glare from reflected solar rays. The device works well on walls.

MUSEUM DESIGN

THE BASICS Chandigarh, the capital of the northern Indian states of Punjab and Haryana, was designed by the Swiss-French modernist architect, Le Corbusier. His buildings include the Capitol Complex with its High Court, Secretariat and Legislative Assembly, as well as the giant Open Hand Monument. For the project a parcel of land is selected near Government Museum and Art Gallery, Chandigarh. The site is located in a vehicle free zone. It admeasures 800 square meters. Proposed site is located in the sector 10 near and very close to the city center in beautiful view of the Shivalik range of mountains, the Government Museum and Art Gallery has a very sprawling and spread out campus at one side of which is located the Government College of Art. The Museum building is an attraction in view of the fact that Le Corbusier himself designed it.
