THREE COOL CATS Actually three chilled and damp guys! The happy owners of J/111-14 and J/111-23 (Marcel & Carl) on the dock with Jim Snair at YCQ in Quebec City. The J/111 is truly an inspiring boat - Marcel is returning to racing after a 20 year absence while Carl traded in his Beneteau 36.7 for more speed. Carl was aboard Blast on her 20knot Halifax Harbour cruise (YouTube) last fall. These sisterships were launched and rigged at YCQ in mid May. Our next boat has left the factory and is enroute to RNYC in St.John's, NL. We will have lots of happy sailors soon - and we can still make you smile - # 55 could be your boat - sail a faster boat, and get great service with just one phone call!
VOLTEFACE SHAKEDOWN SAIL The owners of the J/111 series never seem to do things easy - on Sunday, May 15, under grey skies and winds of 2226knots, J/111-14 was test sailed. Just of of YCQ in Quebec City on the St.Lawrence river, her owners and sailmaker tested the upwind inventory reporting speeds of 13knots on a jib reach with reefed main. If you've always had a speed bug and want to sail double digit speeds in control with a small crew and a still enjoy weekending or overnighting call us - our next boat finishes mid summer. We'll probably want to throw in a carbon wheel - its too cool not to have it.
