Sales Higher For Second Straight Month Boaters take note, as units(boats) continue to sell in greater frequency for the same month last year. Pricing has stabilized as most of the "fire sales" have ended. We're seeing month over month increases both internally and externally. From across North America, YachtWorld has reported that for a second straight month, volumes have increased. Equally impressive have been the last few boat shows. Both Newport's show and the two shows in Annapolis recorded sales that surprised the dealers and manufacturers. At Back Cove for example, we're all ready looking at delivery times that are slipping into mid summer 2010. The same true for most models at JBoats. We think this long delivery is a function of manufacturers right sizing for demand and we also expect unit pricing to increase as the cost recovery begins. We're working hard with all our suppliers from the boat builders to electronics and canvas people to hold pricing for as long as we can....but we encourage you to ask about a new boat...we can still work some good deals and find a delivery date for next summer...at least we can as I write this just before Hallowe'en. Call us, we'll offer market for your trade, save you taxes on the difference and right now an added bonus is that exchange rates are very favorable for Canadian buyers. See you on the water soon!
