Proceed to Bethlehem * to visit the Church of Nativity. Overnight in Jerusalem. (B, D) Day 4 (Sat) Dead Sea / Massada Drive to Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Visit the ancient city of Qumran and drive along the shores of the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth to Massada, the last stronghold of the Jews after the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 A.D. Ascend Massada by cable car and visit the food storeroom, water irrigation system and Herod’s Palace. Return to Jerusalem. Overnight in Jerusalem. (B, D)

Day 5 (Sun) Beit Shean / Nazareth Depart Jerusalem and drive via the Jordan Valley to Beit Shean, a newly excavated city, and visit the Roman theatre. Drive to Yardenit, the baptismal site on the Jordan River; continue to Nazareth via Cana of Galilee to visit the Church of Annunciation, St. Joseph’s workshop and Mary’s well. Overnight in Kibbutz Lavi. (B, D) Day 6 (Mon) Tiberias / Capernaum / Banias After a short tour of Tiberias, take a boat ride to Capernaum. Visit the remains of the 2nd century synagogue. Proceed to Tabgha, the site of the "Miracle of Fish and Loaves" and visit the Church of Multiplication with its 4th century mosaic floor. Continue to Mount of Beatitudes, the place where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount. Drive to the Banias Springs and waterfalls and tour the Golan Heights. Return to Kibbutz Lavi for overnight. Day 2 (Wed) Jerusalem: The Old City Start the day with a magnificent panoramic view from Mount of Olives. Drive to the Old City; Visit the tomb of King David and the room of Last Supper on Mt. Zion. Enter the walled city and walk through the newly restored Jewish quarter. Visit the Roman Cardo, the Herodian quarter and continue to the Western Wall. Walk along the Via Dolorosa to the church of the Holy Sepulchre. Continue to Bethlehem*; view Rachel's Tomb and proceed to visit the Church of Nativity and Manger's Square. Overnight in Jerusalem. Proceed for a tour at the Knesset, Israel's parliament. Continue to visit Mount Hertzel cemetery and Yad Vashem, the memorial to the Holocaust. Stop at Qumran to visit the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to Massada. Ascend by cable car and tour the ancient fortress where the Zealots made their last stand against the Romans before committing mass suicide in 73 A.D. Descend by cable car. Continue to the Dead Sea. Day 5 (Sat) Tel Aviv Today is a day at leisure. Overnight in Tel Aviv. (B) Day 6 (Sun) Caesarea / Megiddo / Druze Villages Drive along the coastal plain to Caesarea, capital of Judea under the Romans. See the excavations of the Crusader city, Roman port, aqueduct and the amphitheater that has been restored to its former glory as a concert venue. Proceed to Megiddo, identified as the site of Armageddon; visit the archaeological excavations including the well preserved water supply system. Continue to Daliat El Carmel, a Druze village and enjoy a late lunch at a local restaurant. Proceed via Mount Carmel to Haifa for a panoramic view of the Haifa Bay and Golden domed Bahai shrine and Gardens. Overnight in a Kibbutz guesthouse. (B)
