Jensen Outdoor maintains over 2 million FSC®-Certified acres of pristine dry-tropical forest in eastern Bolivia. Since 1995, we have been a sustainable leader in the outdoor furniture industry by receiving one of the first, and annually re-certified accreditations from the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) for our small footprint harvesting techniques.
The gold standard in forestry certification, FSC® maintains strict environmental and social standards for responsible forest management and harvesting practices, only accrediting such organizations who share this dedication.
Today, the luxury wood furniture crafted by Jensen Outdoor exclusively features FSC®-Certified timbers. Ensuring our wood furniture directly preserves millions of acres of dry-tropical forests, along with the welfare of forest workers and their families, for generations to come.

and Teak Age Gracefully.
Timber is nature’s wallpaper. When left outdoors, wood furniture will age beautifully to a silver-patina. Whether you maintain the as-new finish or luxuriate in the weathered aesthetic is completely up to you.
Ipe, pronounced ‘EE-Pay’, is a Bolivian hardwood prized for durability through density; taking over 100 years of slow growth to achieve maturity.
Ipe timber exhibits a deep chocolate-brown grain when new that may be allowed to naturally age to a silver patina or be brought back to an ‘as new’ finish with our color-perfect Penofin® Verde stain.
Teak, sustainably farmed in Brazil and Costa Rica, has a high natural-oil content, withstanding outdoor weather with superb stability.
Teak arrives naturally as a brilliant yellow wood and is sought after for the elegance of the soft silver-tone finish that it weathers to over time.
The stain applied to Ipe and the oil inherent in Teak may leave a faint imprint on the back of cushions that rest on wood frames. Our cushions are designed for a perfect fit in a single orientation, meaning no transfer marks will be visible and can be treated to soften the appearance at any time. See care guide, page 184.

For Jensen Outdoor Furniture
Follow these easy care tips to keep your furniture in tip-top shape all year long.
Wood
Ipe and Teak are natural materials that when left alone outdoors will weather to a graceful silver-tone finish. The look and feel of wood is a key appeal to owning natural outdoor wood furniture. To keep yours looking it’s best consider these easy care tips:
1. Apply Wood Shield to protect against water and food stains, then enjoy your set for the season.
2. As spills, dirt, or dust occur wash with a soft towel and mild dish soap, then rinse clean with water.
3. Teak is meant to be enjoyed with a well-aged silver-patina, as needed repeat steps 1 and 2.
4. Ipe may also be enjoyed with a silver-patina or may be restored to it’s ‘as new’ color by cleaning and applying Penofin® Verde as directed.
Cushions
Sunbrella® performance fabrics are made with 100% solution-dyed acrylic to stay color-fast year after year. To keep your cushions in tip-top shape:
1. Apply Fabric Protector to cushions to make them stain and mold repellant.
2. It’s recommended to place your cushions in a dry, covered space when not in use.
3. As spills, dirt, or dust occur wash with a bristle brush and mild dish soap, then rinse clean with water.
Weave
Handwoven Viro® Fiber is made for outstanding durability. To maintain your woven surfaces:
1. To remove dust, simply clean with a bristle brush and lightly rinse with water as needed.
Never pressure wash your furniture as there is a high risk of damage to the finish. Always follow all directions as indicated on the care supply packaging.
