For Positive Change

Vote Brian Gilbert for Ogemaw County Sheriff

August 2, 2016 In my 27 plus years of honorably serving the public of Ogemaw County, I have never been named in a civil lawsuit or reprimanded for any decision I have made in the perfomance of my duties. This reinforces my honesty and integrity as a civil servant. As sheriff, you can count on my continuation to serve you with both honesty and integrity. I have never asked for any endorsement, I’m running for sheriff on my work ethic and self-merit! My commitment to my position, my family and community will stand on its own! County owned police vehicles will be used ONLY for official police business and I will work tirelessly, a minimum of 40 hours per week. I will lead by example! I will expect nothing less from my officers than I am willing to do or have done myself. I will extend an open door policy to officers to increase accountability and a much needed boost to moral within the department. I will work with determination to enhance road patrols for community policing. An area for a number of years that has been sorely lacking and much needed. By utilizing all employees to their full potential I will enhance the services to all Ogemaw County residents.

Vote for Honesty & Integrity I appreciate your support at the polls. Paid for by: The Committee to elect Brian Gilbert, 1585 Crystal Drive, West Branch, MI 48661

Supporting the Ogemaw County Fair

July, 2016 Citizens of Ogemaw County As your former elected Sheriff of Ogemaw County for 15 years, I want you to understand the importance of education, administration, training and leadership. There are limited training dollars and time to train new officers and bring them on as seasoned officers. That is why the Sheriff must play the role of educator and trainer. The Sheriff has many laws he must follow; which requires formal education and knowledge of the Criminal Justice System. I have known the current Sheriff for 44 plus years and watched his career evolve. He has climbed through the profession with an Associates’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. He has been employed 36 years as a law enforcement Officer. He has served the role of Deputy, Patrolmen, Sergeant, Chief, and as your current Sheriff.

The choice is clear; Howie as our Sheriff. For the past 15-1/2 years I have served as your Sheriff. I assisted in the building of the new jail. I have brought in 2.2 million dollars in Sincerely, revenue in the last 5 years by coordinating with other counties and renting our extra jail beds to their inmates. I have also served in many leadership positions within our county, William Ehinger including the past 25 years as President of West Branch Little League with 500 players consisting of 40 plus teams. I have taught at the Career Tech at Kirtland, working with young adults interested Law Enforcement and Corrections as a career. I have volunteered with many community events for the past 36 years. From local food drives, benefit dinners, school events, the Ogemaw Hills bike rally to our County Fair. I have the experience and the wisdom to perform a superlative job as your Sheriff. I will continue to work hard for the citizens of Ogemaw County to make this a safe and wonderful community to raise a family or enjoy your retirement. School Programs It has been my pleasure to serve. I am prepared and eager to Sheriff Howie Hanft interacts with students of local schools from precontinue to serve you in the next 4 year term. Thank you for your school to high school. support and please remember to vote Howie for Sheriff in the Aug. 2nd election.
