Iosco, Ogemaw, and Roscommon County Departments of Health and Human Service are looking for adults, married or single, to provide foster care services to local children removed from their homes due to family crisis. • These foster families provide temporary homes, safety and nurturing to foster children. By providing a local placement, foster families give children, along with their birth parents, the opportunity to access services in the local area, thus assisting in the reunification process. Local foster homes allow children to remain in a familiar environment and within the same school system, thus reducing the trauma of removal from their family home.

• Foster parents work together as part of the team to insure children’s needs are met and that family connection is maintained with their birth families. In those instances where reunification is NOT possible, foster families are often in a position to provide a permanent family to children who have lived in their homes through adoption. • Foster parents are given training to assist them in understanding the special needs of foster children. Other supports and services are available to make foster parenting possible for working parents or single foster parents. We are looking for vendors, businesses and individuals to help promote healthy living at the Wellness Fair. There are many ways you can be part of this event. Booth Wellness Booth: This can be interactive, Sponsorship: educational, informational, a game, a challenge...just has to be about wellness.

Event Sponsorship: Every child who attends will be given a score card to collect stamps at each booth. Each stamp can be redeemed for tickets to win wellness prizes (fitbits, sporting equipment, etc.) We need your support to help buy the prizes. American Red Cross: 9am-3pm

We are encouraging classrooms to design their own booth for the event, but they will need monetary donations for materials. Your name will be displayed on the booth as the sponsor.

Volunteer: We will need volunteers to help with the planning, marketing, set-up and clean-up of this event.

Sporting Goods Garage Sale: Accepting gently used sporting goods, equipment and apparel to sell. All proceeds go to Surline Elementary School. We will be accepting donations in March - TBD.
