The Osprey Talon series of packs is one of Osprey's best. These popular packs have dozens of great features and are lightweight and durable. The packs come in several models, the biggest of which is the Talon 44, meant for weekend hikes or light longer adventures. The Talon also come in 33, 22, 11, 8, 5.5, and 4 liter capacities. All the bags are backpacks except for the 8 and 4 which are lumbar packs. Each Talon pack is thoughtfully designed and constructed of durable nylon rip-stop fabric. Osprey packs are known to be durable and have quality materials and workmanship, and the Talon series is no exception. Here are 5 of the Talon series' best features, and reasons why a Talon pack may be right for you. - Lightweight materials: The Talon series of packs are specifically designed for those not wanting to pack a lot of extra weight. The lightness of the pack allows you to carry more of what you need, be that water, clothes, climbing gear, or tools. - Attachment points: These packs include ample attachment points. Depending on which model you choose, you will enjoy attachment points for ice axes, hiking poles (which can be stowed with the pack on your back), and a helmet as well as a tow loop for you adventure racers. - Hip belt pockets: Who really wants to slug off their pack to get a camera or protein bar? With a Talon pack you don't have to, because, like many Osprey packs, they have stretch pockets built into the hip belt. This is genius, and one of the reasons many people love Osprey packs. - Shoulder strap pockets: If hip belt pockets are great, shoulder strap pockets are even better. They provide the perfect place to stow your cell phone or multi-tool, keeping them handy for when you need them. You'll be able to find them without a fuss. - Vented back panel: No one likes a sweaty back and Osprey's solution to this problem is a back panel made of ridged foam covered in mesh. The ridges allow air to circulate between your back and the pack...at least that's the theory. While nothing can keep you completely sweat free, this system certainly helps. I think these five features are the best features of the Osprey Talon series, but there are many more great features I haven't mentioned. The Talon series meets the expectation of durability, high quality workmanship, functional design, and versatility adventurers have come to expect from Osprey. They are great packs for almost every occasion!
