Broadway’s reopening kicked off with “Springsteen on Broadway” on June 26, and continues with “Pass Over” previews starting August 4, but Broadway won’t be reopening officially until September, starting with shows like “Hadestown,” “The Lion King” and “Hamilton.” Autumn will be full of favorite shows ready for when audiences grab their drinks, unwrap some candy before curtain call and bask in the beauty of live performance!

“CHICAGO”

Bob Fosse’s iconic poisoned love letter to show business is the second-longest running show on Broadway, with classic show tunes like “And All That Jazz” and “Razzle Dazzle” continuing to make the stage glow icily, supported by a minimalist production. “SIX”

“Six” was originally supposed to have its opening night the day lockdown in New York was announced. But now, it can ascend to its glorious heights as intended, when Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss’ pop concert retelling of the lives of the six wives of Henry VIII finally debuts at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre for previews September 17, with an opening night scheduled for October 3. Each wife gets a song as they battle it out, testing who has the best track; but it’s also an ingenious take on history, gender and how those things are told through pop culture. It’s a show so good, the dueling divas could fill a stadium concert with their pop performance. broadwaydirect.com/theatre/ brooks-atkinson-theatre/

“AIN’T TOO PROUD”

The joyous and exciting jukebox biomusical crooning the story of the Temptations makes its glittery return to Broadway at the Imperial Theatre on October 16, with legendary songs like “My Girl” and “In the Still of the Night,” and Tony-winning choreography from Sergio Trujillo. While many musicals of its kind waste their music and structure, “Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of the Temptations” lets its music complement the story in nuanced ways. Awash in gorgeous Motown music and starry performances, nothing’s more tempting to bring you back to the stage. shubert. nyc/theatres/imperial/
