Luminaire development The development of the luminaire starts with the initial idea and follows through concept and detailed development (optical systems, reflectors, etc.) to the support of Heper+Moonlight up the prototyping and pre-production samples. A number of patented lighting technologies have been used such as the “spots and mirrors” technique. LEDs represent another focal point of the future design efforts since they offer many opportunities but also challenges as a light source for general lighting. Research projects provide the know how that is then implemented in many development projects commissioned by Heper+Moonlight. Measurements Photometric tests such as measuring the polar curve of luminaires, the optical characteristics of certain materials, luminance measurements using cameras etc. are done in Bartenbach laboratories. Design Concept The experts at Bartenbach LichtLabor focus on the design of lighting concepts and systems utilizing both natural and artificial lighting from the initial concept right through to site supervision.

Mirage
The design language explored in MIRAGE is the fusion of unique streaming surfaces which creates an aerodynamic form for road lighting. The form is convenient for even harsh weather conditions and strong wind. Fluidity and futurism are conceptual terms that best describe the appearance of MIRAGE. Its complex curvilinearity surrounds a semisphere forming a swift shell for the lighting module. Designed by: Altera Design Studio The Optimized ReflectorÂŽ technology achieves optimum photometric performance with the latest lamp technology and the use of flat glass ensures no light spillage above the horizontal.IP66 with a sealed lamp compartment within the overall IP66 housing.

Housing
Corrosion resistant die-cast aluminium optical housing lower and upper canopy with stainless steel screws. Closed by a toughened glass and durable silicone rubber gaskets. Well designed die-cast aluminium housing of resistant to heat sensitive integral electrical components. Relamping without using any tool. Toolless maintenance through the safety hinged canopy and easily removed gear tray. Post-top or side entry mounting options. Toughened flat clear glass can be hanged out & in and high heat resistance in Mirage luminaires.
Optical
Multi facetted innovative Optimized ReflectorÂŽ each is calculated separately with a complex mathematical procedure. Optimized Reflector for NAV-T 250W / 400W fulfilling the highest new European Standard EN 13201, Class ME1. Class ME1: Its appliance is only in roads with the following criteria: Speed > 60km/h with high traffic, many crossings and conflict zones (crossings with other traffic flows, pedestrians, bicycles).

On most high traffic roads the classes ME3a to ME3c will satisfy the EN 13201. Roads with medium traffic require class ME4a,ME4b, and ME5. Optimized Reflector developed with Bartenbach. The theoretical Light Distribution is strictly calculated, which fulfils ME1 with many different geometries (width of read, height and distance of light poles).

Also lower classes have been fulfilled efficiently, e.g. with larger distances of the light poles and ess power.
Calculation of the shape of the reflector is complicated which is divided into several facets, each is calculated separately with a complex mathematical procedure.

Full cut-off optical system anodized and polished, 99.90% aluminium. Optical system with tempered flat glass complies with the Light Pollution requirements.
Electrical

Ballast is a magnetic HPF and incorporated control gear, ignitor and capacitor integrated. IP.66 for lamp and control gear. Electrical Insulation: CLASS I and Class II (Optional) The system complies with European standards EN60598-1, EN605982-3 and ENEC marked.
Finishing
Light fitting is powder coated. Heper + Moonlight powder coating system engineered to provide the superior quality finish for all weather conditions. Dark grey standard. RAL colours upon request.
