The source of light for MK’s success: the Premium LED The benefits at a glance: • PREMIUM LEDs last longer and are more efficient: the Premium LED that was developed to meet MK’s quality standards has been proven to have a longer operating life (see image). Additionally, tests indicate that compared with conventional LEDs, the Premium LED shows minimal loss of luminance (lumen in percent).

• 360 degree light dispersion: the MK Premium LED is moulded into a polycarbonate casing using an epoxy resin and is then sealed.This special glue mixture acts like a magnifying glass that supports the colour dispersion and strengthens its impact. This guarantees gentle, optimum allround light dispersion.

• Our Premium LED comes impressively close to generating the same warm-white light as a conventional light bulb and can be used extensively in festive lighting concepts to create a warm-white Christmas atmosphere. Meanwhile our brilliant-white mood lighting is perfect for creating magical winter landscapes.

• Tested and certified: all MK products have been, and will continue to be, tested by recognised European certified test institutes. • The use of non-patented LEDs is illegal and will lead to prosecution: We make no compromises when it comes to LEDs or compliance with laws and regulations. Likewise, you should never compromise on quality and safety when it comes to choosing your lighting products. Ask your manufacturer or importer whether they have valid certificates to support their claims.

Decoration Planning

In the past our brochure has provided details about the maximum interconnectable length of each individual product within its specification details. Although this information was useful to our customers, we recognised that we needed to launch a formula which clearly demonstrates how our products can be combined to create a complete display. We’ve taken this into account with our new QuickFix® Point System and have developed a simple system which our customers can use to calculate the ‘interconnectivity’ of our entire product range. To support our customers we have clearly labelled which products from our range can be interconnected and have introduced C and U values to make it easy to understand how the system works.

The special chain lights, STRING LITE® 90, are fitted with built-in breaking points, which release additional cable and reduce the risk of a cable break significantly. The STRING LITE® 90 has a maximum extensibility of 25% and can therefore "grow” by an additional ¼ of its original length.

Rope Light Outdoor 230V This flexible PVC tube rope features carefully arranged and glued-in points of LED light, and is available in various colours. All Christmas Rope Lights (Outdoor 230V) are extendable and can be connected together. They have been designed to fulfil the IP44 rating. Simple and safe to install, they are ideally suited for building façades, roofs, contours and creating indirect illumination. Rope Light Outdoor 36V; Strip Lite Outdoor 36V The Rope Light and Strip Lite both feature a flexible PVC construction and are carefully arranged with glued-in points of LED light. Both products are available in various colours and can be extended and connected together. Thanks to their extra-low voltage (SELV) they are particularly well suited for decorations and illumination displays within close proximity to members of the public and where low voltage is a legal requirement. Please note: Never forget to tape over the contact joins and end caps! This means we can now offer our customers magical and eye-catching displays for shopping centres (for indoor decoration schemes) that come to life with exciting scenes, colourful characters and interactive features. All of the animated characters and scenic displays are built to the highest quality and are finished to the highest standards. Creation Group has been producing high quality animated figures in Denmark for more than 50 years. They all feature lifelike movements and can be synchronised to music or programmed to perform a range of actions. Christmas Grotto for Shopping Centre Emporia The images below show a recent project which MK Illumination developed in partnership with Creation Group for the shopping centre Emporia in Malmö, Sweden. The display featured a fictional village and grotto which included animated characters to keep children amused and entertained during their time at the centre. Each character was given lifelike movements and was programmed to perform a range of actions to help bring the scene to life. The display also featured interactive buttons which children pressed to activate the scene and encouraged them to interact with the characters. BAKERY – The bakery (pictured) was one of the featured elements of the grotto.
