THE JUNIOR PATRONS CIRCLE (JPC) is dedicated to furthering The Center’s goals, involving the next generation in The Center’s programs and developing future advocates for the arts in our community. At this special JPC vintner event, mingle with other young patrons and supporters of the arts. You will sample delectable tapas-style dishes and taste exciting new wines from several of our participating wineries. Vintners will be on hand to share anecdotes, answer questions and guide the tastings. Spend a delightful summer evening meeting new people, discovering new flavors and supporting the arts. The Gala is renowned for its fabulous entertainment, stellar cuisine, special winery-hosted tables and impressive auction lots. This will be a night to remember and the fun begins the moment you arrive. Enjoy a welcome glass of champagne from Nicolas Feuillatte and a special wine reception with featured wineries. There will also be thrilling live entertainment throughout the evening provided by Napa Valley’s own wine country cowboy band, the Silverado Pick-ups, along with a special guest, country music star Billy Dean. This sell-out event will be anchored by an incredible menu of multiple gourmet courses, prepared with Idaho flair. And the best part of the night—you get to be a part of The Center’s mission to support arts education by joining in the fast and furious bidding on exceptional silent and live lots…travel, once-in-a-lifetime experiences, extraordinary wines and so much more. The Wine Auction extravaganza culminates in our signature Vine & Dine event. A lawn party with great wines, tasty food, live music and dancing…it is all here. Opt for the Vine & Dine Plus premium ticket offering access to an intimate indoor tasting experience including a chance to meet select vintners and try a large selection of specialty wines. Only a limited number of premium tickets are available, ensuring early entry, fantastic food and even better wine. Good times are guaranteed. With a general access Vine & Dine ticket, you will have the chance to sample tapasstyle specialties prepared by gifted local chefs. Most importantly, more than 60 wineries will showcase their best varietals so you can taste to your heart’s content with your complimentary commemorative Riedel glass. And just in case you need a break from all things wine, you can enjoy craft beer from some of our regional breweries in the beer garden, complete with Sun Valley Mustard and pretzels. This year, the dynamic Nashville singer Annie Bosko will be joining the party to entertain you and get you dancing. This is a sure-to-sell-out-event and the perfect ending to an unforgettable weekend.

Those who purchase Grand Cru packages are guaranteed their first choice of Vintner Dinner—and only then depending on space. A Wine Auction Vintner Dinner is an experience like no other. Hidden in the hills near Calistoga is a small winery producing big, powerful Cabernets. Winemakers Ted Osborne and Gary Warburton have a passion for consistently pushing the wine quality at Phifer Pavitt to new heights, resulting in rave reviews. They are also known for Sancerre inspired Sauvignon blanc.

CAMPANALE RESIDENCE Alma Mills & Ralph Campanale A Wells Fargo Private Bank Dinner Spend a memorable evening at the elegant home of Alma Mills and Dr. Ralph Campanale, an Italian-style villa with covered decks and verandas, ponds, and sweeping mountain views. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a fabulous meal prepared by local chef Chris Kastner, of CK’s Real Food in Hailey. CK is a master of pairing local ingredients with wines, and this year, he will be joined by Greg DeLeo from Blackbird Vineyard and Suzanne from Phifer Pavitt, who will introduce their impressive portfolios to the Vintner Dinner scene. In this charming and festive setting, representatives from the vineyards will be pouring exceptional varietals while Chris Kastner works his wizardry in the kitchen. It is an evening sure to tantalize the senses.

Since its first vintage in 2000, Garguilo has quietly taken a place among the most highly-regarded and sought-after Cabernet Sauvignon producers in Napa Valley. They strive to make their wines the most pure and breathtaking expressions of their two esteemed Oakville vineyards, embodying the essential qualities of depth and complexity with the structural integrity to age for decades.

Three Sticks Winery Bob Cabral, Winemaker

A boutique, family-owned winery founded in 2002, Three Sticks produces small-lot wines of worldclass quality from its iconic vineyards in Sonoma County, including their estate properties, Durell and Gap's Crown Vineyards. Their all-star selection of artisanal Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon continues to impress critics.

Happiest at work in the kitchen, Nash Cognetti was, most recently, the mastermind behind the renowned Tra Vigne Restaurant in historic St. Helena, California. Chef Nash focuses his passion and signature on every plate. He is a devotee of the Italian approach to food—simplicity, big, bold flavors and perfect seasonal ingredients.


FIGGE RESIDENCE Sandy & Jim Figge The lucky attendees at this one-of-a-kind Vintner Dinner will find themselves at Sandy and Jim Figge’s Z Heart Ranch, a hidden jewel in the heart of Ketchum. Begin the evening in the large backyard with a stroll among the gorgeous flowerbeds, streams and ponds. Marvel at the historical estate’s unparalleled views to the north of the Boulder Mountains. And at dinner in the incredible restored barn, tailor-made for entertaining, savor the mouthwatering array of courses prepared by Napa’s acclaimed chef Nash Cognetti. Nash will present his captivating Italian cuisine using fresh local ingredients paired perfectly with a selection of award-winning wines. And the wines… prepare to be dazzled by elegant, powerful red wines from Garguilo, Lombardi’s hardto-find Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs and a variety of the finest bottles from the Three Sticks cellars.

Perched on a ridge overlooking the Pacific Ocean at Fort Ross, Hirsch Vineyards, also known as a “Pinot Paradise,” is the birth ground of great Pinot Noir on the extreme Sonoma Coast. Chef Carlo Zarri of Villa San Carlo Hotel & Restaurant, Cortemilia, Italy

Carlo brings rich culinary experience and unique talent to the table along with a cheerful, creative style. Diners from around the world travel to his restaurant just to experience his cooking, which has won praise from both the worldwide media and his guests.


HICKEY RESIDENCE Dawn Ross & Doug Hickey Tucked into the hillside above the meadows of the north Valley, the Hickey residence offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Boulder Mountains. The expansive contemporary home, designed by the award-winning local architect Mark Pynn, melts into the natural landscape with beautiful rock, glass and steel details. Multiple outdoor terraces and a gorgeous waterfall add to the home’s beauty and enhance its unique setting. Dinner will be served in the garden and prepared by a special guest from Italy, Chef Carlo Zarri. Known for his distinctive blend of fresh ingredients, Chef Zarri will present a menu featuring fresh black summer truffles, “diamonds for the table,” that is sure to surprise and delight. At the edge of the Santa Rita Hills appellation above the Santa Ynez River, special things are happening. Renowned winemaker Rajat Parr and his team at Domaine de la Côte are pushing the boundaries of California viticulture and making captivating wines of unparalleled depth and flavor. Their Pinot Noirs have been receiving praise from all corners of the industry.

Failla Wines Ehren Jordan, Winemaker

According to The Wine Advocate, “Failla is a top-notch source of highquality, European-inspired wines that combine flavor, intensity, and elegance." Named 2008 Winemaker of the Year by the San Francisco Chronicle, Failla’s Ehren Jordan focuses on cool-climate grape sources to produce food-friendly wines of crisp acidity and layered complexity.

Skipstone Estate Jay Smith, Director of Sales

Skipstone, a hidden treasure in the mountains high above Alexander Valley, is known for its elegant, high-scoring wines. Their winemaker Philippe Melka, one of the world’s best, uses grapes from many small lots to make Skipstone's limitedrelease red blends and Viogniers, which are sought eagerly by wine connoisseurs worldwide.

Chef Donatello Castelli of Hollywood, California

Chef Donatello has a passion for planning customized menus and preparing delicious, healthy meals. Raised and trained in Italy, he has an international flare for creative menu planning, seamlessly integrating traditional and cutting-edge cooking techniques and presentation.


SELBY RESIDENCE Kim & Rick Selby Kim and Rick Selby’s resplendent home in The Fairways is perfectly suited for throwing elaborate dinner parties. The rustic mountain home has a modern, open floor plan and is a perfect blend of physical magnitude and grandeur along with genuine warmth and intimacy. Each of the spaces is flooded with natural light, and astounding architectural details pay tribute to the house’s natural setting. Entirely self-taught, Ken brings a personalized touch to his contemporary French cuisine. Round Pond Estate, owned and operated today by the second generation of the MacDonnell family, is a Rutherford farm and winery that specializes in the creation of pure, expressive wines, artisan foods, and unforgettable experiences—all from the heart of Napa Valley.

Cavus Vineyards Laurel Browman, Proprietor

Cavus is a family-run vineyard nestled in the hillside of the Stag’s Leap appellation in Napa Valley. Its winemaker, Dave Phinney of Orin Swift, helps produce the vineyard’s rich, robust Cabernet Sauvignons that have reached a cult status.

Chef Scott Mason of Ketchum Grill and Enoteca and Town Square Tavern, Ketchum, Idaho

STELCK/BOEGER RESIDENCE Lisa Stelck & Bill Boeger A Wells Fargo Private Bank Dinner In Lisa and Bill’s lovely home, one that reflects quintessential Sun Valley style, allow yourself to give in to the luxuries of a scrumptious meal created by Ketchum’s own Scott Mason in a spectacular setting on what just might be a perfect summer evening. Scott’s inspired culinary creations will harmonize seamlessly with a selection of outstanding wines from Round Pond and Cavus Vineyards. Ryan MacDonnell will be uncorking some of Round Pond’s exceptional and rare vintages, especially their rich and expressive Cabernets. In the rich, rocky soil of Washington’s Walla Walla Valley, the Reynvaan family crafts outstanding Rhône-style red and white wines, remarkable for their consistent complexity, depth of flavor, finish, and distinctive terroir. Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars Marcus Notaro, Winemaker

Considered one of the “first growths” of Napa Valley, Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars produces renowned Cabernet Sauvignon from its historic Stags Leap District estate vineyards. Founded in 1970, the winery brought international recognition to California winemaking and the Napa Valley when the 1973 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon won the now famous 1976 Paris Tast­ing, also known as the “Judgment of Paris.” Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars’ three estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignons–CASK 23, S.L.V. and FAY–are among the most highly regarded and collected Cabernet Sauvignons worldwide. WELD RESIDENCE Gwen & Greg Weld A Wells Fargo Private Bank Dinner Tucked discreetly at the end of a canyon above the golf course in the White Clouds area of Sun Valley, the Welds’ brand-new home is a stunning and elegant study in native stone and woodwork. The rustic elements are beautifully rendered with a clean and contemporary edge, topped off by views of the Pioneer Mountains from the spacious decks. Gwen and Greg are eager to welcome you to what is sure to be a Vintner Dinner to be remembered. The team from Ketchum’s beloved il Naso restaurant will thrill your taste buds with creative and exciting flavors throughout the evening. You will also be joined by representatives from Patz & Hall and Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, who are planning to showcase a variety of their exceptional wines, paired meticulously with each course. Patz & Hall will bring their remarkable, limited-production Pinot Noirs that articulate the nuanced character of the grapes, wines that balance depth, power and purity with elegance, structure and finesse. And of course, the Cabernet Sauvignons from Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars are known around the world for their power and quality. All of these elements will come together to make this event a true sensation.

We cannot guarantee that you will be assigned to a particular event but completing all four preferences when you register will improve the likelihood that you will get your top choice. We give priority to Grand Cru Patrons. Purchasing the Grand Cru ticket package is the only way to guarantee your first-choice dinner. At registration on Thursday, July 21rd, we will provide you with your Vintner Dinner assignment.

In the likely event of a sell out, we will place you on a waiting list for all events.

21 OR OLDER

By law, all registrants and guests attending Wine Auction-sponsored events, including the Saturday Vine & Dine, must be at least 21 years of age. No one under 21, including infants and toddlers, will be admitted to any function over the course of the Wine Auction Weekend. We recommend making childcare arrangements in advance.

PARKING REQUIREMENTS

Valet parking will be provided for the Wine Auction Gala evening at Dollar Mountain Lodge. Due to limited parking capacity, there will be no patron parking at Dollar Mountain Lodge for any events including the Vine & Dine (except for Grand Cru pass holders). A free shuttle service from the Pavilion parking lot will be provided for the Vine & Dine Plus and Vine & Dine attendees.
