Making a Difference Making a Difference is the reason we have been involved with The Center and the Wine Auction for the last 20 years, chairing the Picnic and Pig Roast and now the whole event. Making a Difference is at the core of The Center’s mission. For 43 years, The Center has enriched the lives of thousands of children and adults in our area, offering excellent programming in arts, education, and the humanities. Making a Difference is what the Wine Auction has done for the last 32 years. Funds raised at the event often provide up to 50% of The Center’s annual operating budget and scholarship dollars for hundreds of kids and teachers. Making a Difference is why we come together each year at the Wine Auction
to enjoy marvelous wines and raise our paddles many times over to support and inspire this community.
LET’S ALL MAKE A DIFFERENCE TOGETHER. RAISE YOUR PADDLES HIGH AND OFTEN! With our sincere gratitude, David & Trish Wilson

WELCOME Sun Valley Center for the Arts Wine Auction
Welcome and thank YOU for being a part of this very special gathering! Every year we wrestle with how we can adequately share our gratitude for your participation in the Wine Auction and illustrate how your contribution makes this community and, by extension our world, a better place. As we move through our year at The Center we often wish each of you could be with us to witness a gym full of third graders delight in theatrical play as a teacher whispers that she has never seen a particular child smile until now; the joy on a student’s face as they learn a scholarship will allow them to attend the best conservatory in the country; a room full of adults whose voices are raised in eager conversation after a lecture sparks a lively debate; the silent moment just after the curtain drops and the audience takes a collective breath of awe before bursting into applause. These are the moments YOU make possible. Your
participation this weekend results in world-class arts programming and transformative moments for kids, families and individuals. Everyone hopes in their life to have an impact— to make some mark we hope you move through this weekend with full knowledge that your contribution of wine, of time, of money makes a difference. And of course, we want you to have fun! In fact, we want you to leave thinking that was one of the best parties of the year. But as you lift your glass, share a laugh with your partner or discover a new favorite vintage, realize that you are also helping to make this community a little bit richer and a lot fuller with wonder. That is good for all of us! Enjoy! And thank you. Kris Poole, Artistic Director and the SVCA Staff

AUCTIONEER GREG QUIROGA Tonight marks the eighth year that Greg Quiroga has graced our stage to help conduct our auction, though it is his first without longtime co-auctioneer David Reynolds. Greg spent ten years working with David, and it was his mentorship that launched Greg’s early career. Since joining forces with Reynolds & Buckley, Greg has become one of the nation’s premiere fundraising auctioneers. Greg now works with over 50 non-profits, schools, foundations, arts organizations and charities to help raise millions of dollars a year for great causes all over the United States. His performances are always a fiery combination of passion, humor and heartfelt engagement. His favorite part of every auction is that moment when the crowd comes together to help change the world through the “Take Part for Art” lot. In 2014 Greg launched a new fundraising company, Stellar Fundraising Auctions (www.StellarSF.com), with a longtime business associate. The Tradition of the Sun Valley Wine Auction
The Sun Valley Wine Auction is an important symbol of generosity in our community. Over the past 33 years, this event has helped sustain a cherished and valued tradition of arts and culture for the residents of the Wood River Valley. Vintners return year after year to support the arts, join our celebration and reconnect with friends new and old in our wonderful valley. This year, we are thrilled and honored to have such an impressive line-up of participating vintners join us in our efforts. Some have been part of the Sun Valley Wine Auction for 33 years and others are here for their first time. We invite these distinguished vintners to share their fascinating stories and extensive wine knowledge with us. Getting to know the people behind the wines as they proudly share their finest work with us is a unique and unforgettable experience. We welcome them and their bounty as they present remarkable wines at Vintner Dinners around the Valley, at the Auction Gala and at the Vine & Dine. Opportunities to meet and talk with the vintners are available to everyone over the course of the weekend. Whether you find a new favorite wine, bid on an extraordinary auction lot, join a winery’s mailing list or stop by one of our local wine merchants, you have the chance to learn something new. We enjoy having the opportunity to bring together vintners and wine lovers in this beautiful location for three glorious days of incredible wine, delectable food, new friends and ultimately raising vital funds to support the arts in our small community.

Sparkling wine bottles appear to be larger than standard because they are made of thicker glass to withstand the pressures of carbonation, but they contain 750ml of wine.
3) Magnum
This designation refers to a bottle that holds 1.5 liters of wine, the equivalent of two 750ml bottles. Sparkling wines are sometimes fermented in magnums because this method is believed to lengthen the wine’s life.
4) Double Magnum
This designation refers to a bottle that holds three liters of wine, the equivalent of four 750ml bottles.
5) Jeroboam
A jeroboam of sparkling wine holds three liters, the equivalent of a double magnum or four 750ml bottles. A Jeroboam of still wine is the equivalent of six 750ml bottles or 4.5 liters. Because of recent U.S. regulations limiting larger bottles to even liter sizes, some modern red wine "Jeroboams" are now 5 liters rather than the traditional 4.5 liters.
6) Rehoboam
This designation refers to an oversized bottle that holds approximately 4.5 liters of wine, the equivalent of six 750ml bottles.
7) Imperial
This designation refers to an oversized bottle that holds approximately six liters of wine, the equivalent of eight 750ml bottles.
8) Methuselah
This designation also refers to an oversized bottle that holds approximately six liters of wine, the equivalent of eight 750ml bottles but a different shape than the Imperial.
9) Salmanazar
This designation refers to an oversized bottle that holds approximately nine liters of wine, the equivalent of twelve 750ml bottles.
10) Balthazar
This term refers to a bottle that holds approximately twelve liters of wine, the equivalent of sixteen 750ml bottles.
11) Nebuchadnezzar
This designation refers to an oversized bottle that holds approximately thirteen to fifteen liters of wine, depending on the manufacturer, date, country and region of manufacture— the equivalent of approximately seventeen to twenty 750ml bottles.

A Taste of True Excellence Harlan Estate
Founded in 1984, Harlan Estate is a winegrowing estate in the western hills of Oakville, California, in the heart of the Napa Valley. Perched on a lush hillside at the edge of the forest, Harlan Estate has been producing outstanding 100-point wines for decades and perhaps the setting has a lot to do with that. The proprietor, H. William Harlan, seems to think so, saying, “I think that much of the character of the wine comes from the fact that the vineyards are carved from―and next to― these wild lands, this forest, and these woodlands. It's a good metaphor for life, as well as for our winegrowing philosophy." Tonight, if you haven’t yet been lucky enough to experience Harlan Estate’s Bordeaux-style blends, you can see for yourself just how good they are, and if that theory holds any truth. According to Robert M. Parker, Jr., "Harlan Estate might be the single most profound red wine made not just in California, but in the world.” With its limited availability wines and long waiting lists, it has even been described as “the ultimate cult winery.” Maybe you can figure out the secret yourself on a VIP tour and tasting with seven others in the hills of Oakville at Harlan Estate. At the very least, you will never forget the experience of tasting these phenomenal wines that Robert M. Parker, Jr. has described as “possess[ing] all the elements of greatness―individuality, power combined with elegance, extraordinary complexity, remarkable aging potential, and compelling richness without ponderousness." A magnum of the hard-to-find Harlan Estate Napa Valley Red will find its way home with you tonight as well, an item to be cherished and savored.

How do we tempt thee? Let us count the ways. Here are a few:
Greta Kranz
• Screaming Eagle, king of the cult Cabernet movement, might just be the most famous and renowned estate in the Napa Valley today. Their magnificent wines are almost impossible to find, except at major auction houses, where the prices people are prepared to pay defy belief. • Hundred Acre is making some of the most exciting and opulent Cabernets in Napa. The sumptuous, rich wines have won critical acclaim and are very tough to find, unless you have the right connections. • Harlan, a top-notch, small producer, is dedicated solely to super-premium Bordeaux-style reds, some of California’s greatest, which age for decades. This will be a wine pairing dinner like no other. Some people are lucky enough to try all of these wines in a lifetime. For you, it could happen all in one night. Greta Kranz, an advanced sommelier will be on hand to pour these beauties and share her knowledge with you and each wine will be perfectly matched with multiple mouth-watering courses prepared especially for you by local chef, Chris Kastner of CK’s Real Food. David Reynolds was one of the most important contributors to the success of the Sun Valley Center for the Arts. As the auctioneer for the Wine Auction every year since its inception more than 30 years ago, Dave played a crucial role in The Center’s history and thus in the very fabric of our entire community. He generously shared his ideas, wisdom and connections each year to help plan this event. Reliably and with great gusto, Dave orchestrated the success of each Wine Auction. Most captivating was Dave’s obvious personal dedication to The Center. Dave never lost sight of the fact that the purpose of the Wine Auction was to fund The Center’s services to the community. He cared deeply about the organization and helped raise tens of millions of dollars over the years. Thousands of children have had opportunities through The Center because of the money Dave helped raise. Without Dave’s dedication to this mission, the Wood River Valley would not be the place it has become―where people can live, visit, work, and raise families enriched by exposure to art, music, literature and theater. We are forever in Dave’s debt and eternally grateful for his magnanimous spirit. In Dave’s memory, participating vineyards and friends have donated more than 30 Magnums of wine plus a spot on Harbison Estate Wines’ exclusive mailing list. Please join us in honoring Dave’s legacy this evening by raising your paddle high and often.

Take Part for Art and Make a Difference
We all know that the Sun Valley Wine Auction is a weekend of great food, fabulous entertainment and incredible wines. But tonight, let’s all remember that it’s also about the arts and education in the Wood River Valley―in our schools and for our community as a whole. Sun Valley Center for the Arts makes sure that the children in our Valley are given plenty of chances to discover a love for the arts at an early age. So let’s all raise our paddles high and make a difference in the lives and minds of our local children. This is when it really matters―raising essential funds for The Center’s educational outreach and scholarship programs. We are all here this evening because we care so much about the work that The Center is doing. These programs are fostering creativity and making a difference, all year round. Ask kids about The Center and they immediately light up and get excited to share stories about a cool art exhibition or an amazing musical performance they have seen. Your involvement makes the work that The Center is doing possible. Your contributions make a difference―a painting class for a budding high school artist, a summer music camp for a talented young pianist, a writing workshop for a hopeful novelist―so many of these opportunities would not even exist without The Center and without your help. Celebrate the Arts … Engage in Education … Make a Difference!

Guardians of Red Mountain Hedges Family Estate & Ambassador Winery
This year, Hedges Family Estate and Ambassador Winery have teamed up again in a dynamic partnership to put together a knockout auction lot. Come to Washington’s Red Mountain wine country and see what all the buzz is about. You will experience the unique beauty of the area at the estate of Tom and Anne-Marie Hedges. Your group of four will be their guests on a tour of the biodynamic vineyard and organic gardens with winemaker Sarah Goedhart, a young rising star in Washington’s wine industry. Next, relax with a glass of delightful Rosé near the fountain while a delicious gourmet lunch is prepared for you in the French country kitchen. You will dine in true style with Tom and Anne-Marie as well as Michael and Pamela Towers, another powerhouse couple of the Red Mountain AVA. And tonight, the winning bidder takes home two five-liter Jeroboams from each winery, one of the 2011 Hedges Red Mountain Bordeaux Blend and one of the 2011 Ambassador Syrah. We all know these large-format bottles are great for a party but what if you can’t finish it? After a day or so you’d have to pour it down the drain. No way. But finally, there is a system that really works―the Nitro Tap System. With the Nitro Tap, you can both dispense and preserve from large-format bottles of wine with ease. It transforms a large bottle into a keg system, making it much easier to pour and allowing any leftover wine to stay fresh for future drinking. So, just in case you want to save some of this fantastic wine for later, a Nitro Tap System is also included. Plus, Hedges and Ambassador are both contributing an additional six bottles of each vintage so you can refill the large bottles and keep using the Nitro Tap to enjoy their wines.
Date to be mutually agreeable. Expires 10/1/15. Bearer entitled to 10% off estate purchases.

Petrus Pomerol Perfect Scores
When it comes to wine, France stands alone. No other country can beat it in terms of quality and diversity. And this 1989 Petrus Pomerol is a knockout, a hands-down unbeatable red. It received 100 points from The Wine Advocate: “Every bit the blockbuster concentrated effort…in the mouth the wine cuts a broad swath, with spectacular intensity, richness, massive concentration, and high levels of tannin, yet the wine is fabulously well-delineated and has a finish that goes on for nearly a minute...as prodigious as Petrus can be.” Wine Spectator also gave it 100 points: “It's a giant, yet also sophisticated and reserved. Full-bodied, with opulent fruit and a depth of flavor that lasts for minutes on the palate.” All we can say is, “Wow.”

Ramey Wine Cellars Classic Chardonnay
At Ramey, the goal is to craft wines that are in perfect balance…they like to say they are guided by the soul of the land. David Ramey has been described as a visionary in the wine industry and his skill and expertise certainly shows in his collection of Chardonnays. A Magnum of the newly-released Ramey 2011 Napa-Carneros Hyde Vineyard Chardonnay could be yours for the taking if you play your cards right. This vintage—a super-classic Chardonnay—displays the richness of fully mature fruit coupled with crisp, refreshing acidity. The Hyde Vineyard bottling is more luscious in style; a complex wine of exceptional quality. It is richly flavored, full-bodied, very long on the palate, and crisp and very long on the finish. Savor its marvelous textural balance and finesse and remember that The Wine Advocate gave it 93 points for a reason. With excellent purity and hints of tropical fruit that linger on the close, this Chardonnay has surprising length and richness for a 2011.
Ramey Wine Cellars Three Cheers for Chardonnay
Ramey wines are pure California in a bottle…and now you can take a little piece of California home with you as the winning bidder of this lot. A Magnum of 2011 Napa-Carneros Hudson Vineyard Chardonnay awaits the winning bid. Hudson Vineyard wines tend to a more muscular, masculine character—broad-shouldered, if you will. Reviews describe this wine as full-bodied and supple, with excellent depth and balance, displaying a restrained fruitiness. Awarding this vintage 91 points, Robert Parker says, “With adequate acidity as well as an up-front, precocious, quick-to-mature style, it should be consumed over the next 3-4 years.”
Ramey Wine Cellars Goodness in a Glass
That is what the team at Ramey strives for. Their techniques are grounded in tradition and guided by innovation. The unique character of Ramey wines is such that tasting one of their exquisitely crafted varietals is an experience not soon forgotten. And the 2011 Sonoma Coast Platt Vineyard Chardonnay is no exception. It received 92 points from The Wine Advocate: “The Platt Vineyard is excellent: full-bodied and fairly rich, yet with a firm acid backbone. It is long and crisp on the palate, with a range of quality aromas/flavors.” And the review from Antonio Galloni speaks for itself: "The 2011 Chardonnay Platt Vineyard is direct and focused in style…with nuances that are alive in the glass. Ramey Wine Cellars Hooray for Chardonnay
The goodness just keeps on coming. Yet another outstanding Magnum of Chardonnay from Ramey is sure to win you over. The 2011 Russian River Valley Ritchie Vineyard Chardonnay is bright, focused and wonderfully intense. One reviewer called it “vivid gold.” A wine with layers of complexity, this vintage of the Ritchie Chardonnay walks a fine line between richness and delicacy. It has a great mouthfeel that balances power and elegance. The Wine Advocate gave it 92 points, saying, “Tropical fruit is the dominant characteristic of the 2011 Chardonnay Ritchie Vineyard, a medium-bodied, layered, fresh, pure Chardonnay offering hints of apple blossom, pear, buttered pineapple, and orange marmalade. Enjoy this attractive white over the next three years.” What’s not to like?
Dunham Cellars Passion in a Bottle
Dunham Cellars has established an award-winning reputation for their wines using grapes from some of the finest vineyards in the Walla Walla, Yakima, and Columbia Valleys. Its first vintage, a 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon, was deemed one of the finest wines made in Washington by Wine Enthusiast. Senior winemaker Eric Dunham creates original artworks for all of the Dunham Cellars vineyarddesignated and special bottlings. This lot includes an Artist Series boxed set of Dunham’s award-winning trio from 2009—the Lewis Vineyard Merlot, the Lewis Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, and the Lewis Vineyard Syrah—all featuring labels with Eric’s distinctive artwork. All three varietals were awarded 94 points by Wine Enthusiast and Wine Spectator. And for good reason…these wines are truly works of art!
Forgeron Cellars True Elegance
In French, the literal meaning of “forgeron” is “blacksmith” but more importantly, it refers to artisans who build with their hands, combining experience with an extensive knowledge of their trade. This is indeed an apt description of Marie-Eve Gilla, the winemaker and managing partner at Forgeron Cellars. The Wine Advocate has praised the winery, saying “The wines are outstanding across the board and show great textures, integrated acidity, and overall very drinkable profiles." And tonight, you can bring home this Magnum of 2008 Forgeron Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon for your own cellar. Sold out for the general public, this intense and silky Cabernet Sauvignon will make you go weak in the knees. Giving it 90 points, The Wine Advocate calls it “…an elegant, racy, relatively forward style of cabernet. In the glass it reveals savory flavors, excellent volume, enough structure to evolve for 2-3 years, and a lengthy, pure finish.” Act now, you will NOT be disappointed.

And tonight, one of our donors has contributed this incredible bottle of 2001 Domaines Barons de Rothschild Château Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac. The wine garnered 96 points from Wine Spectator: “Deep and generous aromas of blackberries, fresh tobacco and minerals. It's full-bodied, with big velvety tannins and a super long finish. Like a fine cashmere sweater.” And 94 points from The Wine Advocate: “This blend is a classic example of Lafite. Extremely elegant, medium-bodied, with intense concentration, richness, and sweet tannin, it appears to be on a rapid evolutionary track, at least in comparison to recent Lafite vintages that have been far more backward and powerful.” This bottle needs a home in your cellar. Tonight.

Cakebread Cellars The Sweet Life
The folks at Cakebread Cellars believe that the key to successful winemaking is teamwork, and they have assembled a team with unmatched experience and passion. They believe that life’s occasions are elevated by good people, good food and good wine, and that philosophy flows through everything they do. You can almost taste it in their wines. Try it out yourself by bringing home a Magnum of Cakebread’s 2010 Dancing Bear Ranch Cabernet Blend tonight. This wine from Cakebread’s high-elevation vineyard on Howell Mountain boasts intense mountain character and optimal balance. Beautifully structured on the palate, its rich, deeply concentrated flavors culminate in a long, spicy finish. The youthful Cabernet blend is delicious now with hearty foods, but will develop even greater dimension and complexity over the next decade. Rated 96+ points by The Wine Advocate, the review points out its “stunning purity, terrific precision, and a full-bodied mouthfeel…a modern-day classic. This iconic wine should last 30 or more years.” But don’t delay; the wine’s limited availability might make it tricky to find.
Antica Napa Valley Magnificent Magnums
High in the eastern mountains of the Napa Valley sits a breathtaking wine estate. Located in the remote Atlas Peak District, Antica produces very small lots of truly outstanding wines, a testament to the discipline and knowledge of the Antinori family. The family’s history in the wine industry spans six centuries and 26 generations. This vertical collection of Magnums of Antica Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from 2009-2011 represents some of their best selections, hence the winery’s “Primo Selezione” categorization. In case you need more convincing, read on…the 2011 is a generous wine that offers rich flavors and a plush texture and the 2009 is full-bodied, yet graceful and supple, ending with a long, pure, and persistent finish.
Bennett Lane Winery Cuckoo for Cabernet
Bennett Lane Winery crafts fine wine at the pinnacle of Napa Valley, the northernmost corner of Calistoga. To that end, Vintage Point presents a special auction lot for you this evening: a case of Cherry Pie Wines’ 2012 Cherry Tart Pinot Noir. Cherry Pie defines a winemaking approach and technique created by cult winemaker Jayson Woodbridge and this unique vintage redefines artisanal Pinot Noir. His wines are dazzling in their layered, sensory excellence and are redolent of the flavors and aromas of something delicious baking in a warm kitchen, hence the name. The Donum Estate, loosely translated as “gift of the land,” is both a place and a unique product, comprised of three vineyards perfectly suited to Pinot Noir. Here, the winemakers share a love of the land and a passion for wine. Their gift of the land for you tonight is a package of four Magnums from their impressive collection of Pinot Noirs, all scoring 94 points and above from Wine Spectator. The 2008 Donum Carneros West Slope Pinot Noir (96 points) flaunts “an abundance of succulent berry flavors and an impeccable balance of weight and intensity in an enduring, refreshing finish.” Not to be upstaged is the 2009 Donum Carneros East Slope Pinot Noir (96 points), a “stunning red [with] plenty of both power and finesse [that] retains an air of sophistication.” Tempting tasting notes describe the 2010 Donum Carneros Estate Pinot Noir (95 points): “Deftly combining earthiness and fresh fruit, this brooding wine is lifted by wonderful acidity, and finishes with a lingering raspberry flavor.” And rounding out the dazzling selection is the 2011 Donum Russian River Reserve Pinot Noir (94 points), a stand-alone wine that is incredibly intense yet retains bright, excellent structure. What a gift!
Ste. Michelle Wine Estates Works of Art
We all know that Chateau Ste. Michelle is a bastion of Washington winemaking. And tonight, they offer up some of their most inspired creations—three Magnums of their 2010 Artist Series blend. Winemakers and artists have drawn inspiration from one another for centuries. For the Artist Series Meritage wines, head winemaker Bob Bertheau crafts exceptional Bordeaux-style blends of unique power and character that honor world-class artisans such as Dale Chihuly, Alden Mason, and Andre Petterson. The 2010 vintage delivers black cherry aromas and spice notes with velvety tannins. Most of the blend was sourced from the Cold Creek Vineyard, providing power and elegance. Fruit from the Canoe Ridge Estate vineyard rounds out the wine for a layered, complex and harmonious result and a smooth finish. This wine was given 92 points by The Wine Advocate, and the review highlights its “…superb concentration and mid-palate density,” calling it a “medium to full-bodied, classy wine.”

Hayfork Wine Company Artisanal Excellence
Hayfork Wine Company's goal is to emphasize the importance of farming in winemaking. They strongly believe that the hands of the farmer in the field lay the foundation necessary to produce a quality wine. Wine also advocates kinship, and Hayfork’s winemaker Haley Wight makes wine with that philosophy in mind. She likes to imagine that Hayfork is creating a product that encourages people to gather together with family and friends. By taking home two Magnums of the 2011 Hayfork Lewelling Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon this evening, you will certainly be tempted to do just that. This beautiful young wine proves itself with steady tannins, flavors of pepper and black raspberry, balanced oak and a luscious velvety texture. The 2011 is charming now and will also age elegantly to grace your table for many years to come.
Split Rail Winery Idaho’s Finest
Split Rail Winery is cultivating a vibrant wine culture in Idaho. The winery emerged from a fervent belief in supporting local agriculture and creating local products, exploring new wines and creating new wine styles, and an unfettered love for drinking, eating and friends. Get to know them. Start off with two bottles of 2011 Snake River Valley Mourvedre, a complex and tannic red that begs for meat and potatoes. You will have a secret love affair with this wine. And continue your newfound infatuation with two bottles of 2011 Snake River Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Best drunk copiously, with focused determination and unwavering resolve, this Cabernet brims with intense and lush fruit; it is juicy, herbal, meaty and barbaric. Last but certainly not least, cherish two Magnums of Split Rail’s outstanding 2010 Snake River Valley Syrah. This is definitely a relationship worth pursuing.
Spring Valley Vineyard A Riot of Reds
Spring Valley Vineyard is a small production Washington state winery north of Walla Walla, producing only estate-grown and bottled red wine. The names given to Spring Valley wines are a tribute to the family members who have struggled and succeeded in farming the same land for well over 100 years. You, too, can be a part of this rich family tapestry by bringing home this exceptional collection of wines for your own cellar. The limited edition box set features six 2011 wines as well as a full-color printed history of the Corkrum-Derby family and the vineyard. To give you a sneak peek at what’s in store, the selection includes the Katherine Corkrum Cabernet Franc, given 93 points by The Wine Advocate, as well as the award-winning Sharilee Petit Verdot. All of these wines will age wonderfully and are of distinct heritage, from a terroir like none other. They reflect the dedication of six generations of family farmers.
Jeff Gordon Cellars Mountain-Grown Cabernet
Jeff Gordon, a four-time champion in car racing’s elite series, first discovered a passion for wine in 1995 after winning his first NASCAR championship. Jeff believes in working only with mountain Cabernet; quality vineyards at higher elevation give his Cabernets unparalleled structure and intensity. This vertical collection of Jeff Gordon Collection Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, starting with the 2005 vintage, also includes the yet-unreleased 2009. The special 2007 vintage is named “Ella Sofia” after Jeff and Ingrid’s daughter. The five vintages are 100% mountain-grown Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, with fruit sourced from two stellar vineyards, Stagecoach and Corbett. Stagecoach is located on the rocky, volcanic soils of Atlas Peak and Corbett sits on a rocky hillside just north of the town of St. Helena in the Spring Mountain appellation. Both of these vineyards are approximately 1,000 feet above the Napa Valley floor. Decant these delicious Cabernets to enjoy now, or cellar them to savor for many years down the road.

“If you cannot think of an excuse to open a great bottle of champagne every week, you need to re-evaluate your life. Dave Reynolds 1953 - 2013
In Memory of Dave Reynolds
The Sun Valley Center lost one of the most important contributors to its success when Dave Reynolds passed away in December 2013. Dave was the auctioneer at the Sun Valley Center Wine Auction every year since it began more than 30 years ago. Together with his wonderful wife, Colleen, Dave played a crucial role in The Center’s history and thus in our community. Our programs require significant financial resources, much of which comes through the success of our Wine Auction. Dave generously shared his ideas, wisdom and connections to help us plan our event—subtly coaching staff, board members and event chairs in the art of successful charity auctions. Reliably and with great gusto, Dave orchestrated the success of each auction. Like a maestro before his musicians, Dave would build momentum up and then settle it down before calling out to bidders whom he knew by name, coaxing additional raises of their paddles, just as a conductor calls forth the violins and cellos before signaling a crescendo of cymbals and drums to close a lot with the winning bid. Dave never lost sight of the fact that the purpose of the event was funding our services to the community. Without Dave’s dedication to the Sun Valley Center’s mission, our geographically remote community would not be the place it has become—a place where people can live, visit, work and raise families enriched by exposure to art, music, literature and theater. We are forever in his debt and eternally grateful for his magnanimous spirit. I hope you will join us in honoring his legacy this evening by raising your paddle high and often, especially when we get to the “Take Part for Art” moment in the Auction. It is at this moment when we will miss him most acutely, but where his presence will also no doubt be felt the strongest.
Thank You for
Making A Difference!
