ENGLISH DAILY MORNING REPUTED NEWS PAPER, AHMEDABAD EDITION Editor : Kapilkumar M. Hirpara

Short News Supreme Court concerned about overcrowding in prisons, asks HCs to look into issue New Delhi : The Supreme Court has expressed concern about overcrowding in prisons across the country, in some cases beyond 150 per cent of the capacity, and asked all the high courts to consider the issue as it involves “violation of human rights”. The apex court requested the chief justices of the high courts to take up the matter as a suo-motu (on its own) writ petition and referred to a note given by an advocate, assisting the court as an amicus curiae, in this regard. “It appears from the note given by amicus curiae that the issue of overcrowding in prisons is not being taken seriously by the prison authorities.

BJP MLA Ravinder Raina appointed new JammuKashmir unit chief New Delhi : BJP president Amit Shah on Sunday appointed Jammu-Kashmir MLA Ravinder Raina as the party’s new state unit chief. He will be taking over Sat Paul Sharma, who was recently inducted in the state cabinet. He was allocated Housing and Urban Development. Raina, an MLA from Noushera, courted controversy in 2015 when he took oath in the name of ‘Mata Vaishno Devi’. Members of the opposition objected, saying there was no provision for a member of the legislative house to take oath in the name Vaishno Devi. Protem Speaker Mohmmad Shafi intervened and asked Raina to take oath in the name of God.

West Bengal rural elections: Litmus test for Mamata Banerjee amid BJP upsurge New Delhi : “The journey to Delhi originates in the rural heartland of Bengal.” Perhaps, these words by senior TMC leader Derek O’Brien best explains the political churning that has been going on in West Bengal in the run-up to the panchayat elections, which will be held tomorrow after the Calcutta High Court last month asked the State Election Commission to reschedule the poll dates. With 40 of the 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal located in villages and semi-urban areas, grip over the rural bodies is a must for parties to have an upper hand before the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

I Am OK With a Dalit Chief Minister For Karnataka: Siddaramaiah New Delhi : A day after Karnataka voted in the Assembly elections after witnessing a high-octane campaign between the BJP and Congress, incumbent Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated that he has no problem if the high command decides to choose a Dalit leader for the state's top post. But, he made it clear, no one could forcibly take the decision – and he was quick to add that he was popular among MLAs, whose opinion will have weight in the final decision. "If High Command says they will

make a Dalit the CM, I will tell them go ahead. I am not against anybody. But you see, MLAs also have to give an opinion... No one can force... MLAs also have to give their opinion. High Command also has to agree to that. Forcefully making someone a CM is difficult. You can't run a government like that," said Siddaramaiah in Mysuru. It is believed that his comments here are in reference to senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge, who is also a CM aspirant and a prominent Dalit leader in the party.

Srinagar : Just 10 days after J D Mandeep Kumar returned to Kashmir to join his 182 Battalion of CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) after a week-long holiday, he was killed during an encounter with the militants in Pulwama district, officials said on Saturday. Kumar was part of the joint operation of security forces — Jammu and Kashmir Police, 55 Rashtriya Rifles of the Army and CRPF’s 182 and 183 Battalions —that had cordoned off Takiya village in Pulwama on Friday night after intelligence inputs on presence of at least three militants. pall of gloom descended on Khudapur village in Punjab’s Gurdaspur after the news of Kumar’s death reached on Saturday. His elderly mother, who heard about her only son’s death from television, were inconsolable. Baldev Singh, a relative

of the jawan, told The Sunday Express that Kumar had joined the CRPF to improve the financial condition of his family soon after completing class XII. “He had just started the construction of his house at the village and his parents were looking for girl to get him married. It is very sad that he left this world just when his life was getting on track,” he said, adding that Kumar’s body would be cremated in his native village on Sunday. On May 2, Kumar had rejoined duty after spending week with his parents in his native village. Meanwhile, police sources said that a civilian was also injured in the encounter. seats, Congress will not be able to cross 70 seats and JDS [Janata Dal Secular] will not cross 24-25 seats," he said. Rubbishing the Congress' claim of winning the polls, he said, "There is a silent and strong wave in favour of BJP and public anger against Siddaramaiah and Congress." The India Today-Axis My India exit poll has projected that the Congress will emerge as the single-largest party in the Karnataka election, bagging between 106-118 seats of the 222 seats where polling was held on Saturday.

Money is the only winner in Karnataka

By all accounts, money was used in the Karnataka elections like never before. So much so that fears have been expressed that money might have even hijacked the results, as it happened in the RK Nagar assembly by-election in Tamilnadu, where TTV Dinakaran, contesting as independent candidate, beat both mainstream parties DMK and Jayalalithaa's AIADMK. The by-election had acquired such notoriety that the election had to be cancelled once due to rampant corruption by way of distributing cash and gifts to voters. Well, RK Nagar was only a by-election, while in Karnataka it was regular Assembly election, which meant it was a different ball game. Karnataka's chief electoral officer has gone on record saying that Rs 136 crore worth of cash, freebies and liquor had been seized in the state since the model code of conduct came into force by March-end. And most of the currencies were of Rs2,000 denomination. In fact, the widespread shortage of Rs2,000 notes in ATMs during the 2-3 month run-up to the elections was attributed to large scale withdrawal and hoarding of these notes. The cash crunch was felt not only in Karnataka, but in the neighbouring states of Andhra Pradesh and Telengana as well as some north Indian states. Similarly, the Income tax department is reported to have unearthed significant incriminating evidence of misuse of money power, from raising unaccounted funds to the distribution of cash and gifts by candidates. According to reports, the evidence has been shared with the Election Commission and other officials concerned for follow-up action. Money comes into play when there are no other gripping issue that engages people's attention, which seems to have been the case with the Karnataka elections this time, as indicated by the exit poll results. The possibility of a hung Assembly, which is what almost all polls are suggesting, indicates that there was no wave in favour of any party. That is an ideal situation for money to take over the proceedings. Just as the increasing influence of money on electoral politics is a pernicious tendency, it also indicates a growing disenchantment of voters with the way politics is conducted. When they find there is very little that differentiates between one party from another, except that they can at best go for the lesser evil, voters literally have no choice. When there is nothing to guide them by way of programmes and policies or ideology that demands their commitment for the common good of the society, they have only extraneous considerations, such as instant gratification, to go by. So, money provides the only incentive. This may serve the immediate purpose of the politician, but its long term implications are highly detrimental to the cause of democracy in the country.

Kendall Jenner Why Raazi is Alia's bares it all again best-opening solo film despite some shows getting cancelled

Yvonne is expecting her first child

The Handmaid’s Tale star Yvonne Strahovski is pregnant with her first child. According to reports in USWeekly.com, the Australian actress announced the news on Friday via social media. “I am very excited to finally be able to share my special news-I’m going to be a Mama! (sic)” Yvonne captioned a photo of her growing baby bump, adding, “So very exciting to watch & feel this little Peanut growing every day (sic).”

Salman Khan drives a hard bargain for Race 3 and it's for a whopping amount

The Alia Bhatt-starring movie, Raazi, had a mixed opening on day one. Despite having a strong female protagonist, and being directed by the talented director — Meghna Gulzar, the film had a lukewarm first-day run. However, the pace picked up quickly soon after. “Some 9 am shows of Raazi were cancelled on Friday because of low attendance. But the film picked up very well later. It has managed to collect around nine crore on the first day, which is humungous for an Alia Bhatt solo starrer. Highway, with Randeep Hooda, managed Rs 3.42 crore on Friday while Student of the Year managed Rs 7.48 crore and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, which starred Varun Dhawan,

also managed Rs 9.02 crore on the day of release. Only films like Shaandaar with Shahid Kapoor, which although tanked later, managed to make Rs 13.10 crore on Friday and the hit film 2 States, which starred Arjun Kapoor and was written by Chetan Bhagat, did Rs 12.42 crore collection,” says a source. By these standards, Raazi seems to be the most profitable solo film of Alia Bhatt. Considering the fact that her co-star, Vicky Kaushal, wasn’t a highly popular face in the industry, this film can truly be considered her best opening as a solo heroine. Box office pundits predict that the film could do a lifetime business of Rs 80 crore.

Kendall Jenner went from being barely covered in a bathing suit earlier in the day to practically naked walking a red carpet at Cannes. According to reports on People.com, the 22-year-old supermodel attended the Chopard Secret Night event on Friday night in a green, see-through dress. Kendall, who has been living it up in Cannes for the last few days, left little to the imagination as she hit the black carpet at the event. She even shared a photo of herself in the outfit on Instagram and captioned it, “Oops (sic).” Kendall paired the ensemble with Chopard jewelry, black Christian Louboutin heels and styled her hair in loose curls.

The final buyer of the Salman Khan film, Race 3, will be confirmed on Monday. Race 3 has been made at a whopping budget of Rs 120 crore plus. Sources inform that a Bollywood corporate, which is also listed on the New York Stock Exchange, could be the company that clinches the deal at a price of Rs 190 crore. Interestingly, one of Salman's earlier movies was also sold to the same company and Salman is yet to be paid his dues to the tune of Rs 45 crore by the corporate. Now, when the corporate expressed its interest in buying off Race 3 from producer Ramesh Taurani, Salman who holds a majority stake in the film stepped in the way. “Salman has to recover around Rs 45 crore for the earlier film. And if the corporate has to clinch the deal, they need to pay the balance amount as well, which they have not paid,” informs a source. The trailer of Race 3, which will release on May 15, will also carry the name of the corporate backing the film, informs our source.

Quantico faces the axe, Cannes: Aaradhya is ecstatic as Aishwarya twirls her around on the way to red carpet The world is celebrating Mother’s Day on Sunday, will Priyanka Chopra lose and it is without a doubt that one of most loved mother-daughter duos in the film industry is her biggest claim to fame Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Aaradhya. The bond between them was recently highlighted with in USA? Aishwarya sharing a lovely picture of a newborn

Aaradhya in her arms as her first Instagram post and captioning it, “And I was born... again...” Apart from the Instagram debut and Mother’s Day, another important event took place in Aishwarya’s life, with her 17th straight appearance at the Cannes film festival red carpet. The actress looked ethereal in a butterfly-inspired flowing mermaid gown. However, she was hardly nervous before walking up to the red carpet and getting all cameras focused on her, and in fact, shared a lovely moment with Aaradhya. In a video shared by the actress on her 'new territory', Aishwarya is seen twirling around her daughter, dressed in a cute little red dress and all smiles, on their way to the red carpet.

There is some discouraging news for Priyanka Chopra’s efforts to strengthen her international career as the American television production company, ABC, has decided to terminate her signature show, Quantico. The popularity of the show has been waning and it was suspected that the axe might fall on the show. With ABC canceling the show, Priyanka will lose her biggest claim to fame in America. More than any of her other activities in the US, it is her association with Quantico, and her popular character, Alex Parrish, which have brought her fame. While Priyanka was most excited to have shot for the show in Tuscany, her association with the show has only lasted three seasons. The end came abruptly as Priyanka is simultaneously focussed on rebuilding her career in Bollywood by signing a film called Bharat with Salman Khan. A source in the know feels Priyanka was not entirely unaware of Quantico’s fate. “She had seen it coming. This is why she was eager to sign a new Hindi film after a gap of nearly three years,” says the source. But can Priyanka reclaim her Indian market? Her last Hindi release, Prakash Jha’s Jai Gangaajal, was a disaster. Would Salman, who has played saviour to many damsels in distress, author Priyanka’s comeback story in Bollywood? Only time will tell.

Shout-out to all supportive fathers on Mother's Day, says Kareena Kapoor Khan

As the world celebrates Mother's Day, actor Kareena Kapoor Khan gave a special mention to all the fathers, including husband Saif Ali Khan, for their unwavering support. The 37-year-old actor, who welcomed her first child, Taimur (now 17 months) with Saif in 2016, said a father's role is equally important as that of the mother's in raising the child. "I chose to celebrate Mother's Day with you all. But my son is celebrating Father's Day with Saif and it has been possible because of that support," Kareena said at panel discussion on UNICEF's #EveryChildAlive campaign here. "I'd really like to thank Saif... I

was extremely exhausted after childbirth. First thing is you want to put your child on your chest, your breasts... To give warmth to the child. With my eyes half-shut, I would say, 'Saif, put Taimur on your chest. Give him that kangaroo love'. "When the mother is recuperating from childbirth, the father must step in. Today, we must champion those fathers. A shout-out to them as their help is important in the well being of the child," she added. The actor, who is UNICEF's Goodwill Advocate, said the couple ensures that their son is taken care of by either of them. "We need to share the load. Of course, what the mother can do the father can't.

Deepika silences naysayers at Cannes, Ranveer gushes over her is global icon, Deepika Padukone, is often questioned for playing it safe with her outfits. However, this time, she silenced all the naysayers by donning spectacular outfits on day two of the Cannes Film Festival. The actress was indeed a head-turner as she glided around in a metallic gold gown from Ashi Studio's Summer/Spring 2018 collection. Her second get-up, which was a ruffled, mulletcut hot pink gown, which also boasted angel wings, looked just as ethereal. However, there was something missing and that was the ‘RK’ tattoo the actress used to sport. Deepika got the tattoo made when she was in a relationship with Ranbir Kapoor. Well, makeup surely did a good job at eliminating this inky memory. Talking about her joy at being at the prestigious event, Deepika posted “Dreams really do come true... Cannes 2018,” on her Instagram account. While her fans gave her a thumbs up for this look, her boyfriend Ranveer Singh couldn’t stop himself from gushing about his ladylove. “Gosh,” wrote the actor on her timeline. Well, Deepika certainly snatched all the limelight, but debutant at Cannes, Kangana Ranaut, was no less of a stunner. As the brand ambassador of Grey Goose, Kangana is representing and celebrating Indian cinema at the Cannes Film Festival.

SPORTS ROUNDUP

None of our plans worked against Ambati Rayudu, says Kane Williamson

Bangalore : Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Kane Williamson admitted that the plans set up by his side for Amabti Rayudu failed to work as the opener went on to smash a brilliant unbeaten 100 off just 62 balls. Rayudu, who opened the batting for Chennai Super Kings, once again performed well with the bat to guide his team to a convincing victory. Seldom do the SRH bowlers look ineffective but on Sunday they were taken apart by CSK openers Rayudu and Shane Watson who forged a 134-run opening partnership to set up the win for the men in yellow. Speaking at the post-match press-conference,

Royal Challengers Bangalore kept their hopes alive in IPL 2018 as they defeated Delhi Daredevils by 5 wickets on Saturday at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium.

We are making mistakes in death overs, says Yuzvendra Chahal

Mumbai: Royal Challengers Bangalore kept their hopes alive in IPL 2018 as they defeated Delhi Daredevils by 5 wickets on Saturday at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium. RCB’s biggest problem throughout the season has been their bowling department which has failed to contain the run rate in the depth overs. On Saturday as well, RCB gave away a lot of runs in the final overs with Abhishek Sharma blasting 46 runs in 19 balls to take DD’s total to 186. Addressing the issue at the post-match press conference, RCb leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal admitted that RCB have made mistakes in the death overs. “When you play for India, they are all our best bowlers. You take Bhuvi pa (Bhuvneshwar Kumar) or Jasprit (Bumrah), they are death overs specialists. Here youngsters may be playing for the first time. There will be big crowds and they might be feeling the pressure. We’re making mistakes in the death overs, but we’ll gradually improve,” the 27-year old said. Talking about his own bowling, the leg-spinner insisted that he might not have picked up more wickets in this edition but has not conceded runs as well. “If I am not getting wickets, then I am also giving away fewer runs. That means, this year the batsmen are not attacking me that much; though they have seen me more now, videos and all,” he said. Chahal also addressed his selection in the team for the tour to England and said that he will continue to improve before the start of the series.

Williamson said, “I think everybody set plans for Rayudu, none of which has worked just yet. So we might have to try and think of a few more things when we come up against Chennai again. He is playing really, really well. Chennai certainly outplayed us today but it is important that we move on quickly.” Applauding the CSK bowlers for putting pressure on his batsmen Williamson said, “Look, the amount of swing their bowlers were able to get certainly assisted and (helped in) how they operated. They bowled very well with it. You still have to bowl very good areas and they definitely did that.

Webb Simpson extends lead as Tiger Woods, Jordan Spieth shoot 65 Bangalore : Tiger Woods dominated the front nine while Jordan Spieth dominated the back nine to card 65 each to enter the top-10 even as Webb Simpson maintained the lead after third day at the ‘PLAYERS’ Championship. Overnight leader Simpson (68) did not let slip-up, ending at 19-under, which equalled the record for a 54hole total. Simpson, now holds the largest lead at seven in the history of the tournament. Simpson is seven clear of Danny Lee (70) and nine ahead of Dustin Johnson (69), while five players were at 9-under. Among the seven at 8-under and 11 behind were Woods and Spieth, who shot 65 each and are capable of coming out with that or better yet again. Simpson, who had four birdies, an eagle and two bogeys in his 68, said, “I feel like I’m playing good, solid golf, but … I’ve holed out a

few times from off the green and made some long putts,” Simpson said. “To get that score, you have to do that.” In the morning, Woods and Spieth, starting at 1-under for the event, finished the third day at 8-under. Woods dominated the first 12 holes, during which he had eight birdies, but then the birdies dried up. His 6-under 30 front nine was his best 9-hole score at the Championship and raised visions of a 59, just like it did when Simpson was on a roll on Friday. Woods’ run came to an end when he bogeyed the Par-4 at the 14th hole. He had no birdies in last six holes to finish at 65. Was he also disappointed? “Yeah, I mean to be 8-under through 12, realistically I probably could have got a couple more and got to 10 for the day. It wasn’t a bad tee shot at 14 and I don’t make birdie at 16.

Ambati Rayudu slams maiden IPL hundred Bangalore : Ambati Rayudu slammed his maiden hundred in the Indian Premier League as Chennai Super Kings produced yet another comprehensive batting performance to beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets on Sunday. Rayudu’s ton was the fourth of IPL 11 after Shane Watson, Chris Gayle, and Rishabh Pant. Promoted up the order to open the innings, Rayudu justified his

skipper’s faith by scoring an unbeaten 100 off 62 balls with the help of 7 fours and 7 sixes in an innings that was paced perfectly. Fittingly enough, he remained unbeaten to guide his side over the finishing line. Rayudu’s hundred was his first in T20 cricket and the Indian Premier League. Incidentally, it was the 7th by a CSK player and 36th by an opening batsman in the IPL. Earlier, Rayudu

had been guilty of getting starts but not converting them into big scores. However, on Sunday he played a fantastic inning to reach the three-figure mark and also justify his recall to the national side for England tour. After beginning his innings on a slow note, Rayudu grew in confidence after reaching his half-century. Reflecting on his knock, Rayudu spoke at the post-match presentation

and said, ” “It’s a good position to bat (opening) in T20s. I am enjoying it right now. There’s no secret. We are backing ourselves and communicating very well (about batting with Watson). He has been of great help to me. I was ready to open. If you are good at 4-day cricket, you can bat at any position. I am really happy to be back in the Indian team, hopefully I will do well there.”

Peter Mackenzie said. "We are currently piloting it in a few dealerships. And, we are very close to rolling out the programme, nationally," he told PTI here. a gold mine for jobs

Mumbai: Global technology major IBM has said there is a massive shortage of cyber security professionals in the country, urging young graduates to look this segment, which is a high-margin segment for companies, as a lucrative career option. The company, which looks at India both as a market as well as a talent pool to serve the global markets on cyber security, said a whopping 3 million cyber security professionals are required in the country but the supply is not even 1 lakh now, Kartik Shahahni, integrated security leader for IBM India and South Asia, told news agancyhere. "Can I find people, yes I can. But can I find enough number of people? There is obviously an opportunity for more number of people than we actually have now," Ananda K Vaideeswaran, director and global integrated leader, chipped in saying. Shahahni explained that security solutions currently

contributes in "double-digit percentages" to IBM India's revenue at present, whereas its share of the total staff is much smaller. Stating that the cyber security professionals are "more productive" as it is a margin accretive vertical, he said, "the amount of revenue a security professional can bring to us is far higher than the amount of revenue a non-security professional can." The comments come amid rising concerns about the information technology sector from a workforce intake perspective. As more and more tasks get automated with the advent of newer technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, fewer number of people are required by the USD 160-billion domestic IT sector to do the same work compared to the past when the industry was one of the leading job creators absorbing millions annually. The IBM executives declined to give a clear answer

whether cyber security can emerge as a much-needed succour from an employability perspective, but explained that different skillsets and approaches are required for grabbing such jobs. Vaideeswaran said there is a need for changes from the school and graduation level to the post-graduate level, which will help the industry get the right kind of people. For those who do look at cyber security, there is a need to look beyond ethical hacking, he said, adding this branch represents only 5 per cent of the security needs. "Not enough youngsters look at cyber security as a job opportunity. That is probably an area where we can do a lot as an industry," he said. He said IBM has been working with universities and tech schools to get the necessary manpower for its the business, and also works with the Data Security Council of India and industry lobby Nasscom on the same front.

FPIs withdrew a net sum of Rs 4,030 crore from equities and another Rs 8,641 crore from the debt market during May 2-11.

FPIs withdraw USD 2 bn from markets in just 8 trading sessions

New Delhi: Foreign investors have pulled out Rs 12,671 crore (USD 2 billion) from the Indian capital markets, in the last eight trading sessions, primarily due to surge in global crude prices and rise in yields of government securities here. These developments follow an outflow of over Rs 15,500 crore from the capital markets (equity and debt) in April, the steepest in 16 months. As per the latest depository data, Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) withdrew a net sum of Rs 4,030 crore from equities and another Rs 8,641 crore from the debt market during May 2-11, taking the total to Rs 12,671 crore (about USD 2 billion). "An increase in (government securities) yields in the domestic market has seen FPIs pulling out money from the Indian debt markets, whereas outlflow of

money from equity market is a function of rise in global yields and deterioration in macroeconomic fundamentals of Indian economy largely due to rising crude prices. "Besides, FPIs have also booked profit ahead of the upcoming state election," Rakesh Tarway, head of research at Reliance Securities. According to Prabhudas Lilladher CEO Ajay Bodke, there has been a heightened risk aversion as markets are watching

with caution the outcome of key developments related to US-Iran and Karnataka elections. "Firstly, whether a headstrong Trump tears the Iran nuclear accord despite fervent pleas from other signatories. Withdrawal by the US and reimposition of tough economic sanctions on Iran has the potential to send global crude oil prices soaring as Iran is one of the largest suppliers of crude," he said.

New Delhi : A day after ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif tacitly admitted to Pakistan ‘militants’ being behind the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairperson Imran Khan on Sunday called the PML-N member “a modern day Mir Jafar” and assailed him for speaking “PM Narendra Modi’s language” to protect his wealth stashed in his son’s offshore companies. “Nawaz Sharif is the modern-day Mir Jafar, who collaborated with the British to enslave his nation for personal gains. China’s first home-built aircraft carrier begins sea trials

Beijing : China’s first indigenously-developed aircraft carrier began sea trials on Sunday, official media reported, a historic step in the country’s quest to modernise its military and bolster its naval presence in the disputed regional waters. The 50,000-metric tonne vessel left a shipyard of Dalian Shipbuilding Industry in Liaoning province around 7 am (local time) against thick fog and with assistance from several tugboats, before navigating into the sea using its own propulsion, staterun China Daily reported. The vessel will become the country’s second aircraft carrier, and the first to be entirely built and designed inside of China, when it joins the navy sometime before

2020. The Navy said in a statement that the trial aims to demonstrate the reliability and capability of the ship’s propulsion systems. The still-unnamed carrier was launched this time last year but since then has been undergoing fitting of weapons and other systems and has not yet entered service. China launched the new aircraft after it commissioned the first carrier the Liaoning, a refitted Soviet Union-made vessel in 2012. Though Liaoning has become operational, it is being mostly used for research and improvements for the new carriers China plans to build. Reports said China is already building its third aircraft carrier in Shanghai. China reportedly plans to have four aircraft

carriers by 2030 to beef up its navy as it asserts its claims in the Indian Ocean and the disputed South China Sea. Few countries in the world have aircraft carriers. Besides India, the US, Russia, the UK, France, Italy, Thailand and China operate a total of 18 aircraft carriers. The US is the largest operator as it runs 11 nuclear-powered carriers with each having a full-load displacement of about 100,000 tonnes. Some reports said China is also planning to build a nuclear aircraft carrier. Chinese experts have said that the missions for the new carrier will be different from those for the Liaoning, which is mainly tasked with testing equipment and weapons as well as training personnel.
