The bench now said that the orders would be given within next two/threedays but the centre could inform if it changed its position on the filing of the affidavit.It was clear from the deliberations at the Court hearing that the plea of national securitytaken by the SG to avoid the filing of the affidavit was not at all convincing to the bench. If this is used by the central agencies on the opposition leaders and the human rights activists, apart from journalists, thiscannot be done without the approval from the highest political authorities. The WPI in August 2020 was at 0.41 per cent. “The high rate of inflation in August 2021 is primarily due to rise in prices of non-food articles, mineral oils; crude petroleum & natural gas; manufactured products like basic metals; food products; textiles; chemicals and chemical products etc as compared the corresponding month of the previous year,” the ministry statement said. Indian Coast Guard rescues seven fishermen near Diu In an operation conducted on Monday night, the Indian Coast Guard rescued seven fishermen from a sinking boat off Vanak Bara near the union territory of Diu, official sources said. On receiving a distress call from the local administration about a stranded boat in the area at 8 pm, an indigenous Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) was immediately dispatched from Porbandar base in Gujarat, located about 175 km away from Diu. The helicopter flown by Coast Guard pilots Commandant Kunal Naik and Comandant Saurabh, manoeuvered low-lying clouds and reached the boat within an hour.
Indian Navy rescues 400 people in Jamnagar Close to 400 persons, including a pregnant lady, have been rescued till now by the Indian Navy’s six boats that have been deployed in wake of incessant rainfall in Jamnagar district of Gujarat, official sources said on Tuesday. Five teams of 75 personnel have been deputed from INS Valsura on the request of the district administration to assist the civil administration in rescuing stranded citizens from various parts of Jamnagar city, stated an official release. A Navy team distributed food to 600 stranded people on Monday night. Further, one more team was deputed on Tuesday morning for distributing food and water to more than 300 people at three locations.

This was the first time in the current monsoon season that the Tapi was seen flowing on both its banks. The dam currently has enough water to cater to two years worth of irrigation, industrial and domestic requirements of Surat, Navsari, Ankleshwar and Valsad. The heavy inflow into the dam has been triggered by heavy rainfall at upstream areas.

Indian Coast Guard in a daring and challenging operation, rescued 07 fishermen from a grounded boat that was about to sink off Vanak Bara, Diu on the night of 13 September 21. On receiving the distress call from Diu Administration at 2000 Hrs, Indian Coast Guard immediately responded and deployed indigenous Advanced Light Helicopter from Porbandar to conduct a lifesaving operation in pitch dark night and prevailing inclement weather at Vanak Bara off Diu at a distance of 175 Km from Porbandar. Commandant Kunal Naik and Commandant (JG) Saurabh who displaying exemplary flying skills maneuvered the aircraft from low lying clouds so as to reach the area within the time frame. The pitch dark night combined with rough seas at the location compounded the difficulty, however, the highly skillful pilots managed to complete the operation successfully within one hour of aircraft launch from Porbandar. The boat had lost its power due to machinery breakdown and was grounded off Vanak Bara in the sea. All 07 crew were airlifted and rescued by the helicopter to safe ground.
