Gensets Banned, Parking PM Modi to offer prayers SUNVILLA SAMACHAR Charges May Rise As Grap at Kedarnath temple on Unsavoury Gloating Over One Billion Measures Kick In Weaponisation Of Pathogens A SeriNovember 5 Vaccination Under Narendra Modi ous Concern, Says Nsa Doval Editorial

Agency News: New Delhi

All of a sudden, the government has become science-oriented. They dramatically became advocates of vaccination. Distribution of 100 crores of vaccines became their precious campaign point. Even the mobile ringtones have been tuned in such a way to propagate the glory of 100 crores. Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his typical style claimed that the war against Covid-19 has been successfully waged and India has become the centre of attraction for the rest of the world. A close watch of this vaccine celebration would spell out the propaganda skills of the parivar government. They try to project the self-proclaimed viswa guru image of Narendra Modi. The whole episode is designed in such a way to make the people believe that India hasachieved the goal of universal vaccination. The exercise, in fact, is motivated by thecompulsions of forthcoming assembly elections in UP, Punjab and elsewhere. Modi and hisconfidants know that their track records related to the wellbeing of the people is patheticallydismal. Thus, the strategic planners turned to Covid war. The people very well know thattheir over enthusiasm is hollow and their claims baseless.India is the second most populous country in the world with 130 crore population. Vastmajority of them are still vulnerable to the tiny virus. The day on which the celebration waslaunched, it is true that the number touched a figure of 100 crores. But that doesn't meanthat 100 crores are safeguarded from Covid virus. As per official sources themselves, only30 crores were given two doses of vaccine until that day. Seventy crores have got only thefirst dose. They are yet to receive the second dose after a definite period. In a country of 130crores, after inoculating only 30 crores with two doses, Narendra Modi was organising bigfanfare as if the country has won the Corona battle. When the prime minister was makingsuch high sounding claims 100 crores of his fellow citizens were still remaining vulnerable tothe disease. This is the Modi style of propaganda gimmicks. The people should be madeaware of its hollowness. The prime minister and his team are now urging the people to forget their series of colossalfailures in fighting the pandemic. The country had to pay heavy prices for their often-repeated mistakes. In the initial days of the pandemic, when the people were desperatelywaiting for a helping hand, Modi government was busy arranging reception for DonaldTrump! After the return of the most celebrated visitor the government and its politicalsupporters began to propagate that Corona is nothing but another flu. They neitherunderstood nor accepted the gravity of the grave situation. They should be remembered asgenerals who fought their battle without a strategyFor winning any battle, knowing the strength of the enemy is crucial. From that point beganthe failure of Modi government. They thought that banging the plates and lighting the lampswould defeat the virus. The next step was the glorification of cow dung and urine as effectiveremedies. At that stage vaccines were never their priority. All those who demanded universal vaccination were ridiculed. The advice of experts, doctors and scientists were just ignored. During those days the country witnessed the arrogance and contempt of the government towards science and scientists. When the prime minister showers praise for the health warriors, people would naturally remember the earlier stance of the government. The plight of the people during the war against Covid was so miserable. The lockdownimposed with four hours’ notice proved the government's disregard for the working massesand common people. The mass exodus of the migrant labourers will remain as anunforgettable story in the people’s memory. The economic crisis has ruined the livingstandards of the people in every sector of life. The benefits promised in the packages havenever reached the majority of those who deserved. The irony of the Covid days is that avery small segment of the population, the super-rich, expanded their profits while every othersection suffered setbacksEven at that stage the government was not very keen about universal vaccination. Finally, though belated, the government began talking about vaccination. The idea of freevaccination was not in their original plans. It was only at the insistence of the SupremeCourt, vaccination became free for the people. The prime minister lauded the vaccinemanufacturers for their great service. How much have they gained for this service to thenation? Only those private companies and the government know the details. What about the public sector pharmaceuticals in India? The ‘Atmanirbhar’ government didnot even think of them - Kapilkumar M. Hirpara in its fight against Covid.

6th Delhi sero survey shows 97% prevalence Agency News: New Delhi

Ankita Lokhande in a white embellished lehenga is a sight for sore eyes.

For every 100 people in Delhi, 97 have some level of antibodies that react with SarsCoV-2 because they have had an infection or a vaccine dose, the latest serological survey suggests, according to preliminary results released by the government on Thursday.Experts said the findings are consistent with two significant factors: Delhi had a devastating wave of infections in April-May that appeared to leave very few people uninfected, and the city’s cases have not risen even though almost all activities have opened up and the public appears not to be adhering to Covid-safe

behaviour such as wearing masks and maintaining distance.“The report of the sixth sero-survey has come in and the overall positivity was found to be 97%. In all the 11 districts, the positivity was over 90%. This shows that a huge proportion of the people in Delhi have had the infection and many others have been vaccinated. This report is very positive,” said Delhi health minister Satyendar Jain.“Earlier, researchers had said that herd immunity could be reached at 70% to 80%, then they said 90%, but in Delhi it is 97% now,” the minister added. Herd immunity is when enough people have adequate protection from immunity so that an

infectious disease stops spreading to vulnerable people. But experts say there are several unknowns, such as how long antibodies will remain protective, and the evolution of the virus, which can mutate to become more resistant. It was not immediately clear what proportion of the seroprevalence was due to vaccination or a past infection. But a proxy can be considered in the seroprevalence seen among children, who are not yet eligible for vaccines. The report found that a little over 80% of the samples taken from children were positive for antibodies – this proportion would have been the result of a natural exposure to the virus.

Our future is at stake: What is needed at Glasgow COP26 Agency News: New Delhi When leaders meet in the UK for the 26th Conference of Parties (COP) to discuss the climate crisis, they do so knowing that this time there is no going back on the need for urgent and drastic action to combat the crisis. We no longer need science to forecast the possibility of the impacts of a changing climate. We see it in our world — extreme weather events are increasing in frequency and intensity and devastating life and economy. So, what is the agenda for COP26? First and foremost, climate negotiations

must recognise the imperative of climate justice. Second, COP26 must not dilly and dally around empty promises of net-zero targets for 2050. Third, COP26 must recognise the need for transformational action — this is the order of our times, not diversionary and pusillanimous efforts.
