In 2019, after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 18 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, Banerjee had launched a similar initiative – ‘Didi ke Balo’. This programme too aimed to reach out to common people and was a big hit. Mamata Banerjee said: “It will improve the connection with people. The name ‘Didir Suraskha Kawach’ has been given by the IT team. ‘Duare Sarkar’ is a government programme, whereas ‘Didir Suraksha Kawach’ is of the TMC. A couple and their eight-yearold son were killed in a fire that broke out in a bedroom of their duplex house in Ahmedabad on Monday morning, a fire official said. The victims were in the bedroom located on the first floor of the house when the blaze erupted at around 5 am, divisional fire officer Om Jadeja said. “The cause of the fire is not yet clear and a forensic team has been engaged to ascertain it. We cannot rule out the possibility of suicide. It is also possible that the family was using fire to keep the room warm
and got trapped when the blaze erupted,” he said. “When the first response vehicle reached the site after receiving a call, some people were shouting for help. When the rescue team entered the building, they found three bodies lying near the bedroom door on the first floor of the duplex,” the official said. The victims possibly died of smoke inhalation. Some of the body parts were also found burnt, Jadeja said.The deceased were identified as Jayesh Vaghela (40), his wife Hansaben (35) and their son Rohan. The ’minority’ judgement pointed out the ’illegality’ and the ’irregularities’ in the demonetisation, Chidambaram said on Monday soon after the apex court made its verdict with a 4:1 judgment. ”Once the Hon’ble Supreme Court has declared the law, we are obliged to accept it. However, it is necessary to point out that the majority has not upheld the wisdom of the decision; nor has the majority concluded that the stated objectives were achieved,” the senior Congress leader said in a tweet. ”In fact the majority has steered clear of the question whether the objectives were achieved at all,” he said. ”We are happy that the minority

Rajasthan Govt approves additional funds for educational infrastructure push Agency News: Jaipur Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved an additional financial proposal of Rs 14.80 crore for various schemes related to tribes including a push to the educational infrastructure in the state. According to an official statement, a 7-storey hostel will come up in Chitrakoot Nagar of Udaipur. “Two-storey basement will be built here, in which basketball, volleyball arena, gym facilities will be available,” the statement said. Detailing the facilities in the hostel, the statement mentioned the floor-wise breakup of the infrastructure to be built. “The reception hall, waiting room and two rooms will be ready on the ground floor. There will be kitchen and other facilities on the second, third and fourth floors. Rooms will be ready from fifth to eighth floor. Along with this, grooming rooms and vocational training rooms are also being built here for giving
interviews for competitive exams,” it said. A hostel of 50 student capacity will also be constructed at Nathuwas in Rajsamand. An amount of Rs 2.80 crore has been sanctioned for this. “State-ofthe-art coaching classrooms are also being prepared here. Along with this, additional facilities will also be increased in 175 tribal hostels run by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department. A budget provision of Rs 3 crore has been made for these,” it said. Additional classrooms will also be constructed in government schools in tribal areas from the Tribal Development Fund at a cost of Rs 4 crore.
