5 workers killed in Pune after portion of under-construction building collapses A portion of an underconstruction building in Yerwada areas of Pune collapsed late on Thursday night, killing at least five workers and injuring a few others.The accident took place at a mall that was under construction in Shastrinagar area of Yerwada. According to reports, a giant iron mesh fell on 10 workers and iron bars pierced through the bodies of a few of them.Five of them died on the spot.On getting information of the mishap, the fire brigade rushed to the spot. India on Thursday described as “preposterous” allegations that it is trying to scuttle the acceptance by the Biden administration of Pakistan’s ambassador-designate to the US Masood Khan.“It is preposterous to blame a third country for the delay in the appointment of an ambassador from one country to another,” Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said at a media briefing.
