India to send aquanauts 500 meters under sea this year in Samudrayaan Agency News: Nagpur

India will send three explorers to a depth of 500 metres under the sea in an indigenously built vessel, Samudrayaan, this year, an official said. Engineers at the National Institute of Ocean Technology in Chennai have already designed the steel sphere that will house the aquanauts for their journey, he said. However, the plan to send the Samudrayaan to 6,000 metres deep into the sea could be delayed due to difficulty in procuring the titanium sphere capable of withstanding pressure at those depths, the official, requesting anonymity, told on the sidelines of the Indian Science Congress underway here. He said a steel sphere can withstand pressure up to a depth of 500 metres, but will crumple as it cruises deeper.

worst passengers. Fine them, arrest them

Agency News: Kolkata

By now, I assume you have all read the story about the horrific incident on an Air India flight from New York to Delhi. And that you are as shocked as I was when I read about it. But in case you missed it, here is what happened. A woman passenger in her 70s was sitting in an aisle seat in business class. When the lights were off, a fellow passenger walked up to her seat, unzipped his pants and urinated on her. After he had finished urinating, the man just stood there in front of the woman, his genitals exposed. He only moved away when another passenger intervened. The horrified woman informed the cabin crew. She says that her clothes, shoes and bag were completely soaked in urine. Naturally, she was traumatised. According to her, the crew gave her pyjamas and disposable slippers after she had cleaned herself in the tiny airplane toilet. The crew also disinfected her seat and put sheets on top of it. Understandably, she refused to go back to it. The crew then offered a narrow crew seat where she sat for most of the remainder of the flight. As far as she could tell, nothing happened to the male passenger. He disembarked as normal at Delhi airport and went off on his merry way.In fact, she says, nothing was done to assuage her trauma till she wrote to N Chandrasekaran, the Chairman of the Tata group which now runs the airline. After that, Air India set up a committee to look into the issue and said later that it was working with the police and regulatory authorities. The woman passenger’s primary grievance seems to be against the cabin crew. She says they did not do enough to help her. I have not heard the crew’s version but if the passenger’s story is accurate, then their behaviour was disgraceful. She says that though they had empty seats in First Class, nobody bothered to find her a seat in the cabin, which surely is the least they could have done. And, judging by her story, the crew made no attempt to initiate any action against the passenger when - Kapilkumar M. Hirpara the flight landed in Delhi.

Both moved upwards in the chart after their impressive performances in the first T20 International against Sri Lanka in Mumbai on Tuesday, which India won by two runs. Hooda moved up 40 places to 97th after his unbeaten 41 off 23 balls while Kishan was rewarded for his brisk 37-run knock at the top of the order. The swashbuckling Suryakumar Yadav continued to hold the top spot for batters despite a rare failure in Mumbai. India’s new T20I captain Hardik Pandya, up nine places to 76th among bowlers, is the other to move up the rankings. As far as Sri Lanka are concerned, Wanindu Hasaranga was once

again a strong contributor against India with figures of 1/22 with the ball helping the right-armer move further clear as the topranked T20I bowler. Hasaranga also scored a quick-fire 21 with the bat and that saw the 25-yearold jump two spots to fifth on the latest list for all-rounders. In the Test rankings for batters, Marnus Labuschagne remains at the head of proceedings with a healthy lead despite his failure in the Boxing Day Test against South Africa.

Shakib Al Hassan laments BPL cites Bollywood movie Nayak, as he offers to clean up administrative mess Agency News : New Delhi Two days before the start of the new season, Shakib Al Hasan laid into the Bangladesh Premier League, going so far as to say the tournament may very well be inferior to the Dhaka Premier League, the country’s domestic one-day competition. AUS vs RSA: Steven Smith goes past Don Bradman, smashing his 30th Test ton, joins an elite list of players to do so Agency News : New Delhi Steven Smith went past legendary Australian batsman Don Bradman after notching up his 30th Test century on Thursday at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Smith went past Bradman’s 29 Test hundred with a majestic pull shot off Anrich Nortje to the boundary ropes to claim a hometown hundred off 190 balls. He was out two balls later on 104 when he innocuously chipped back a catch to Keshav Maharaj for the left-arm spinner’s first wicket of the series. Smith also overtook Michael Clarke to become Australia’s fourthhighest Test run-getter with 8,647 behind Ricky Ponting,

Allan Border and Steve Waugh. Only Ponting (41) and Waugh (32) have scored more Test centuries for Australia than Smith, who is second only to the immortal Bradman (99.94) with a current Test average of 60.89 in his 92nd Test match. Both Smith and Usman Khawaja piled up the runs making a hapless Proteas pace attack looking short of ideas. Khwaja went past the 150 mark and was closing into a double hundred, batting on 186. Before lunch, Khawaja danced a celebratory jig after hitting Kagiso Rabada for two through deep square to bring up another hundred at his most productive ground, where he averaged 98 before this Test.

Talking about his love for cycling Mohit Sharma, essaying Manoj in Doosri Maa says “During my school days, I used to enjoy cycling with my friends. We all had a great time roaming the streets. However, as time passed, we all started riding bikes and driving cars. However, after the lockdown, I decided to relive my childhood memories by purchasing a bicycle. It was one of

the wisest decisions I ever made. At that time, I got time to ride my cycle and explore the empty streets of Jaipur, old temples, monuments, and enjoys all the infrastructure in my neighbourhood. I would have missed these beautiful sights sitting in my car. I used to search water bodies and natural areas on Google Maps near me and reach there on my cycle. It helped me discover many things which I never knew before.
