Their casesseem to drag on interminably. Therefore, whether it is the electoral politics or legal entanglements, the BJP appears tohave the upper hand. But she lacks the organizational skills needed to spread herwings. If she wins in West Bengal, it is because she faces in the BJP a party of Hindi-speakers who have little understanding of Bengali culture and (non-vegetarian) cuisine.Hence, her easy success in West Bengal like the DMK’s in Tamil Nadu.But, like the DMK’s M.K. Reliance Power (RPower) shareholders have turned down a special resolution to monetise its assets during the annual general meeting held on July 2.All special resolutions are required to be approved by 75 per cent or more votes of shareholders.A BSE filing by the company showed that 72.02 per cent of votes were cast in favour of the resolution, while 27.97 per cent voted against it.Thus the special resolution could not be passed in the annual general meeting
(AGM).In the AGM notice, the company explained that it is in process of deleveraging and reducing its debt and liabilities.For this purpose and to unlock the value of various businesses and assets, the company intends to monetise its assets and businesses at an opportune time. The company is required to obtain the consent of the shareholders by way of a special resolution to sell, lease or otherwise dispose of the whole or substantially the whole of the undertaking or where the company owns more than one undertaking.

Researchers from Kasturba Medical College, MAHEManipal, in collaboration with University of Muenster, Germany looked into the relationship between the length of ejaculatory abstinence and its impact on fertility potential of sperm. The study was reported in ‘Andrology’ on July 1, which is the official journal of the American Society of Andrology and European Academy of Andrology. Though it is generally believed that keeping long ejaculatory abstinence increases the number of sperm cells in semen, fertility experts always recommend maintaining an ideal gap of 2-3 days between two ejaculations while trying for pregnancy. However, frequent ejaculation can also reduce the sperm count in semen, which in turn reduces
the chance of pregnancy. For this study, sperm quality was assessed in more than 10,000 men and its association with time gap between two ejaculations was compared. The results have shown that men with normal sperm count can ideally have two days of ejaculatory abstinence to get a good number of highly motile and structurally normal sperm. On the other hand, men with poor quality semen can be benefitted by maintaining 6–15 days of abstinence while trying for pregnancy.
