Amit Shah Will Make Use Of His New Cooperation Ministry To Challenge Pawar

With additional charge of the ‘Cooperation Ministry’ given to Home Minister Amit Shah, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has identified ‘Political Enemy No.1’ – NCP supremo Sharad Pawar, who has been anchoring efforts to cobble up a viable and winning political alternative to the Modi-Shah BJP juggernaut, which saw near total annihilation in the West Bengal assembly polls even as the 2nd Covid wave drowned Modi’s international standing in record volumes of covid-infested Ganga Jal.The focus is on Maharashtra, but the panacea is from Gujarat. For those who don’t know, SharadPawar is emperor of Maharashtra cooperatives and the Shah of Gujarat cooperativeswas Amit Shah. Now, you get the connection? Shah by heading the Ministry will be able, atleast try, to carve out the cooperatives' niche from under Pawar’s nose.At least that’s the goal, which will not be spoken aloud. Like somebody said to nobody inparticular, with the “creation of the Ministry of Cooperation and giving Union Home Minister Amit Shah additional charge of the ministry, Modi has opened new doors in politics with focus on Maharashtra”. It is a warning to Sharad Pawar, a move to clip his wings if he gets too flighty and feisty in the next couple of years before General Elections 2024. Like they say, Narendra Modi lives and breathes electoral politics. Regular doses of electoral victories is what keeps Modi in mood, and on his toes. It also ensures that his massive ego stays well fed! So, like that somebody said, “It would be interesting to see how Shah steers the ministry”.Shah, they say, matches Kautilya in cunning and has “extensive experience in cooperatives”. Shah is troubleshooter and ego-embalmer for Narendra Modi. He has thereputation of ‘Election Winner No.1’, and is the ultimate grassroots politician in the Modicamp. Now, with the BJP and Narendra Modi both wallowing in a royal dingbat of a crisis, the sortnever seen or envisaged, Shah has once again been assigned the task to pull the BJP out of the morass of Modi’s making. Shah will have to write a new chapter in “cooperation withNarendra Modi”. For the unversed, “as an old cooperative leader of Gujarat, Shah has vast experience in handling crises at the grassroots level.” Narendra Modi has heard of that encomium sung in praise of Amit Shah. Shah is expected to tame the Maharashtra cooperatives. The cooperative movement in Maharashtra is decades old and caught on famously under the aegis and aura of Sharad Pawar, especially between 1960 and 1980. cooperatives are particularly strong in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah have vast experience in cooperatives-politics,and are keenly aware that political power comes through hold over cooperatives a la comesthrough Mao’s barrel of the gun. Social Media is abuzz with talk of how ModiShah wants to scupper Pawar’s 2024 goals with power over cooperatives.Besides 2024, which lies in the future, Modi-Shah also has other immediate scores to settlewith Sharad Pawar. Especially avenge BJP’s failure to convince Pawar to support a BJP-ledgovernment in Maharashtra. It’s seen as a big Shah-failure, and with the Ministry ofCooperation under his belt, Shah, with his elephantine memory, can at least hope to break even with Pawar.Modi and Shah have the habit of lording over everything they survey; influence everyone in their vicinity and also those far from their vicinity. Shah is a former president of theAhmedabad District Cooperative Bank. He tasted cooperatives-power then, and wants totaste it again. The Ministry of Cooperation is a gamechanger for him and Narendra Modi. But while it will serve their politics, it should be acknowledged that the Ministry ofCooperation is also a definitive boost to cooperatives across India. It could be that with“cooperatives”, the Modi Government wants to give agitating farmers something to lookforward to. Till the other day, cooperatives used to come under - Kapilkumar M. World Population Day 2021: Know history, significance here Whether baby boom or bust, the solution to shifting fertility rates lies in prioritizing the reproductive health and rights of all people

Agency News: New Delhi As the world observes Population Day on July 11 every year, it reminds itself of the challenges faced globally due to overpopulation. The alarming trend shows that

after hundreds of thousands of years the population reached 1 billion, and then in just another 200 years, it grew sevenfold, as per United Nations. The worldwide population reached the 7 billion mark in 2011, and today it has climbed to

about 7.7 billion. It is expected to grow to nearly 8.5 billion in 2030, 9.7 billion in 2050, and 10.9 billion in 2100, the worrying UN trend shows. July 11 marks World Population Day when people remind themselves of the hazards of overpopulation

and raise awareness about how overpopulation can harm ecosystems and hamper progress of humanity. The United Nations Development Programme’s Governing Council created World Population Day in 1989. On July 11, 1987, the population day witnessed the Five Billion Day, or the estimated day when the world’s population surged above five billion people. Further, the day was

commemorated by the United Nations General Assembly in December 1990 with Resolution 45/26. The topics o f

discussion on the day include family planning, poverty, sexual equality, maternal health, civil rights, among others. india has the

world’s second-largest population after China. While China contributes to 18.47 % of the world’s share, India is not far behind with 17.70 % share of the global population. Following India, the United States has a share of 4.25 % of the entire world population, according to data by Worldometer As UN states, the growth in populace has been driven largely by

‘increasing numbers of people surviving to reproductive age, and has been accompanied by major changes in fertility rates, increasing urbanization and accelerating migration’. It warns that these trends will have far-reaching implications for generations to come. In order to overcome the problem of overpopulation, focus must be on population management on a worldwide scale.

Salman Butt said Pakistan will start losing more and more fans if they continue to put together such disappointing performances against the top teams like England. Agency News: New Delhi Pakistan will be under immense pressure when they face England in the 2nd ODI to stay alive in the threematch series on Saturday. If the crushing defeat to an inexperienced England side in the first ODI in Cardiff was not enough, the criticism that followed from all quarters added to the heat. Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt joined the likes of Shoaib Akhtar, Ramiz Raja, Kamran

Butt said Pakistan will start losing more and more fans if they continue to put together such disappointing performances against the top teams. “How do you make fans? ‘Economy bouncing back from 2nd wave hit, inflation a risk The report noted that various high frequency indicators of economic activity — such as power consumption, rail freight, GST collections among others — indicate improvement in June. Agency News: New Delhi The economy is showing signs of revival from the impact of the Covid second wave but inflation risks remain, the finance ministry said in its June Monthly Economic Review. Meanwhile, Taapsee called the film a candy in an actor’s hand. “The good old saying that, if it’s meant for you it will come to you stands true for this case. It’s not just a beautifully written mystery, it has such wonderful characters, which is candy in an actor’s hands,” she said. Forty-six years on, the Gujarat high court has upheld thevalidity of the will of a man who bequeathed nothing to his son forremaining a ‘ghar jamai’ and not taking care of him. The man left his property to his grandson. The case involved Diwala Gausa Chaudhary who prepared the will in1975. He died some time later. He gave his two small parcels of land to hisgrandson Sonaji Raghala. He ignored his son Akha Diwala, saying that since his marriage in 1950 Akha chose

to stay with his in-laws and did nottake care of him. Chaudhary preferred his grandson because he lived withChaudhary since childhood. Akha filed a suit in a court in Mandvi questioning the validity of the will.Akha argued that his father was not in a sound state of mind when the willwas executed. He asked for his share of the property claiming that his father had died intestate. The Mandvi court rejected his plea Akha approached an appellate court in Surat, which accepted his case by holding that Chaudhary was not in a proper state

ofmind and the property was purchased with the family’s money. The appellate court in 1981 ordered the district collector topartition the land and allowed Akha to have his 50% share. The grandson approached the HC against the order of partitioning of the property. After a pendency of 29 years, the high courtfinally concluded, on July 2, that Chaudhary had executed the will in a sound state of mind. The will was valid because the property was self-acquired and Akha could not have his share in it, the court said.
