Manmohan Singh’s action facilitated windfall profit to Hindalco: Court Agency : New Delhi Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s approval to allocate coal block to Hindalco prima facie “facilitated windfall profits” to the private firm resulting in loss to stateowned PSU Neyveli Lignite Corporation Ltd (NLC), a special court observed on Wednesday. The court noted that approval given by Singh, who was also the Minister of Coal at that time, was in “violation” of the established procedure. It also said that Singh had kept the coal portfolio with him and thus “prima facie he cannot claim that being Prime Minister he could not be expected to personally look into the minute details of each and every case.” “His (Singh’s) approval in violation of the established procedure and already approved guidelines

clearly resulted in defeating the efforts of NLC to establish a 2000 MW Power Plant in Odisha. His action thus prima facie resulted in loss to NLC which was a PSU and facilitated windfall profits to a private company i.e. M/s Hindalco,” the judge said. The court also observed that “compromising” the status of Talabira-III coal block, which was reserved for PSU and was with Coal India’s arm, Mahanadi

Coalfields Ltd (MCL), and allocating excess coal to Hindalco again “prima facie crops up as an incriminating circumstance against him (Singh).” Detailing the role of Singh, the court said he had allowed the matter pertaining to allocation of Talabira-II coal block to be “reopened” even though he himself had permitted approval of minutes of 25th Screening Committee recommending allocation of allocating the said block to NLC.

exposed today after an audio tape surfaced where he is purportedly heard talking about splitting the Congress to form the government in 2013. BJP said Kejriwal tried to project himself as "different" whereas he was not, and proved to be like any other politician hungry for power. It said with this expose, the claims of senior AAP leader Yogendra Yadav that Kejriwal only wanted power have also been proved to be right. "Kejriwal used to ask his people to do sting and record any wrong-doing. His own people have recorded and presented his own picture before the world. Kejriwal's real face today stands exposed before the world as one having no principle and who is only seeking to grab power," BJP national secretary Shrikant Sharma said. This, the BJP leader said, also proves the

allegations made against Kejriwal by senior AAP leader Yogendra Yadav that he had tried only to "grab" power. "Where are his principles now. He said he was different. But it seems he is also hungry for power. Where is his internal Lokpal, which he talked about so much?" Sharma asked while seeking clarifications from the AAP leader. Besieged by infighting, theAAP was today

hit by twin blows with former party MLA from Rohini Rajesh Garg accusing Kejriwal of trying to poach six Congress MLAs to form government last year following which its prominent Mumbai faceAnjali Damania quit the party. Garg also alleged that deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia was in touch with the Congress MLAs to try to lure them to float another political party

and extend support to AAP from outside as Kejriwal was not ready to face the polls. "We are ready to form the government, but Congress is not ready to support us. Manish is in touch with the Congress. Do one thing, split the Congress and ask their six MLAs to float a new party and support us," Kejriwal was purportedly heard saying in a telephonic conversation with Garg.

India's swine flu toll crosses 1,500, over 27,000 infected Agency : New Delhi Deaths from swine flu -influenza A (H1N1) pandemic 2009 virus -- in India crossed 1,500 this week, with the virus infecting more than 27,000 people. This year, 27,234 cases and 1,537 deaths have been reported from all 36 states and UTs except five, shows data from the Union ministry of health. The only ones untouched by swine flu with no cases or deaths are Arunachal, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Tripura and Lakshwadeep. Two states — Rajasthan and Gujarat — have reported the bulk of the cases and deaths, reporting more than 5,000 cases and 350 deaths till March 10. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), most seasonal influenza in the northern hemisphere is being caused by influenza A (H3N2) virus, which accounted for 87.5%

influenza A cases. Of the more than 26,000 blood samples tested by the WHO, the pandemic 2009 swine flu virus accounted for 12.5% cases. Swine flu spreads through droplets expelled when an infected person coughs or sneezes or by touching surfaces contaminated by the droplets. You can protect yourself by staying away from infected persons, frequently washing hands with soap, and cleaning surfaces with disinfectant or warm water regularly. Symptoms include high

fever, extreme breathlessness, lethargy, pain in the chest, loss of appetite and nausea or vomiting. Three pharma companies in India — Hetero, Natco and Strides Acrolab — are manufacturing oseltamivir, the drug used to treat swine flu. Having the anti-viral prescription drug oseltamivir (better known by one of its brand names, Tamiflu) shortens the duration and severity of illness if the taken within 48 hours of the symptoms appearing. It also makes

people less contagious and prevents infection. Oseltamivir also protects against other strains of influenza. The Centre has dispatched 60,000 doses of Oseltamivir (75 mg and 45 mg) and 1,000 doses of the paediatric syrup, which is manufactured only by Hetero, to the affected states. All health personnel treating people infected with swine flu are vaccinated against it and given personal protective equipment such as masks and gloves.

Dimapur mob lynching: Local media playing a dangerous game When the Nirbhaya case brought Delhi to the streets, the nation was faced with a severe divide between people who wanted the rapist to be hung or castrated (instead of a life imprisonment) and those who warned against a vindictive reaction to the whole affair. It is true that jail boards have numerous records of rapists roaming free; a reflection on the country's judiciary system and the police. Many writers and activists signed petitions stating that capital punishments or inflicting more violence on the rapist's body is not the solution. According to this school of thought, we had to be better than those that we professed to punish. Have your say. You can comment here.Last week, we saw the nation debating the ethics of the Dimapur lynching. No doubt, what the mob did was out of line. But looking at the reactions on social media, a Martian would presume that justice had been served. A friend on Facebook gleefully shared the news of the lynching, along with the caption, "THIS. We need this, right now, in Delhi. #Nagaland". Another colleague shared the story of a lynching he witnessed in Jharkhand - not in a hamlet at the back of beyond, but at the heart of Ranchi, at a chowk that saw pretty heavy traffic by the city's standards. Interestingly, even in the Ranchi case, the provocation was the violation of a woman's body: the victim had, apparently, molested a girl from the tribe the mob belonged to. For a clear picture of the "appropriation game" going on right now, one only needs to turn one's gaze towards the Assamese language media's coverage of the incident. For the better part of the year, Assamese media - TV in particular - relishes the otherising of the Bangladeshi immigrants. This should warn us about the many "mainstreams" present in the states of the Northeast even as they continue to be the other of the mainland India. The power dynamic that locates and labels all Bengali Muslims as the "miyan" populace is one that is percolating since the times of the Assam Andolan. A Hyderabad university student talks about how even sensitive intellectuals like Hiren Gohain (whose essays are a treasure to Assamese literature) was thrashed upon criticising elements of chauvinism of the Assamese mainstream. Ironically, this is the same media that ran stories as ghastly as the 2012 Guwahati "live" molestation case, where Amar Jyoti Kalita was accused of provoking a mob to strip a young girl as she was exiting a nightclub. Self-reflexivity and constructive criticism is quickly understood as "anti-regional/antinationalist" to say the least. It is unfortunate that news items from time to time, portray a conspicuous fear against the "outsiders". They are blamed of robbing the Assamese people of their identity, their jobs and especially their land and women. (Note the parallels with the Punjabi dictum of jar-joru-jaydaat; the three things associated with an abstract notion of "honour", the three things which the Punjabi people fight for; gold, women and land.) But when it came to Syed Farid Khan, these same TV anchor were quick to claim this person as "one of our own".

remuneration of male and female actors in Bollywood. “Last year, two very great films did wonderfully at the box office and are remembered for the value that they added to our industry and they are 'Queen' and 'Mary Kom'. Arjun Rampal lashes out at the Left 'Singh Is Bling' due to media over divorce rumours!

Agency : Mumbai He's usually a calm person. But time and again, over the past few years, we have seen Arjun Rampal losing his cool over matters pertaining to

his family and relationships. This time, it's no different. Ever since the Hrithik Roshan-Susanne Khan marriage went kaput and the couple headed for a

divorce, Arjun has been in news for reportedly being the reason behind the couple's split. Rumours took a serious turn when the four people involved- Hrithik, wife Sussane, Arjun and wife Mehr Jessia Rampal issued a joint statement putting a stup on all conjectures. While the issue had lost its heat post that, new rumours surrounding Arjun and Mehr's impending divorce started doing the rounds. The news of the divorce went viral with many news organisations reporting it, in turn angering Arjun. The actor lashed out at the media on Twitter and cleared the air about the divorce news that has been doing the rounds. constant delay: Kriti Sanon

Agency : Mumbai Actress Kriti Sanon says she stepped out of Parbhudheva's directorial 'Singh Is Bling' as it was constantly getting delayed and also because its dates were clashing with her other projects. "I'm not doing 'Singh Is Bling' now. I think you all must have read. The film was getting delayed for many reasons," the actress said here on Tuesday at the launch of Spring-Summer collection of the store Aldo. "Now when the film is starting, its dates are clashing with my other projects, so I chose not to do it," she added. The 24-year-old,

who made her Bollywood debut with Sajid Nadiadwala's 'Heropanti' last year, said she was keen to feature in the movie. "I was preparing a lot for the film. Akshay Kumar and Prabhudheva are a team that you always want to be a part of, she said, but added that she does not regret her decision to step out from the film. "It is a mutual decision. Producer (of 'Singh Is Bling') Ashvini Yardi and I tried a lot to work out the dates, but nothing worked. Then we mutually decided that I step out of the film," she said. After the 'Heropanti' actress' exit from

the film, Amy Jackson has been roped in opposite Akshay in the film. Kriti feels "Amy suits the role perfectly". "Now Amy Jackson is doing the film. Since I know the script, I can say she suits the role perfectly and I wish her all the best." Meanwhile, there are reports that Kriti has signed filmmaker Rohit Shetty's film. However, she refused to divulge any details and said: "I'm really sorry as I won't be able to comment on that film right now. Wait for some more time, you will hear everything about the film...I will talk about the film when the time is right."

Hrithik Roshan to work with Vishal Bhardwaj? Agency : Mumbai Hollywood star Hugh Jackman is all praise for actor Dev Patel with whom he is sharing screen space in upcoming sci-fi film 'Chappie'. In the film, which revolves around a sentient robot who has to learn how to survive in a terrifyingly violent and dangerous underworld, Patel and Jackman both plays engineers but handle rival projects. "I just loved working with him. He's probably the happiest actor I've ever seen on a set. That guy just bounds into work. He is in almost every scene

of the movie, and his enthusiasm was incredible. He's obviously very brilliant, and smart, and just happy. His energy is completely contagious. I think he is a wonderful actor," Jackman said. The 46-year-old Australian actor feels the 'Slumdog Millionaire' star's role is tough but he was commendable. "He's got an amazing quality that is infectious. He's incredibly believable, and it's a hard role to play. He's this sort of tech genius who becomes this father, this young parent, who has this proprietary feeling over this robot. It's

really well played," Jackman said in a release by Sony Pictures India. As they are pitted against each other on the film, Jackman said they didn't prepare much to bring out the aggression. He said it came naturally to them. "It was great, and he was totally up for anything. We were sort of ad-libbing a fair bit of that, and he was totally up for it. I just think he's brilliant. I loved working with him and I hope I get to do it again," he said. Directed by Neill Blomkamp of 'District 9' fame, 'Chappie' is expected to hit theatres on March 13.

an out and out action movie ‘Bang Bang’ is busy shooting for another period movie ‘Mohenjo Daro’ directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. There are reports that Hrithik might work with talented director

Vishal Bhardwaj, who has given last year’s hit film ‘Haider’. Vishal Bhardwaj has in the past directed films like ‘Maqbool’, ‘Kaminey’ to name. It will be interesting to see the duo work together if things work out.

The PK actor has not only gone green, but also given up milk and milk products. Aamir’s decision was prompted by a video that his wife Kiran Rao showed

him about 15 most common diseases that cause death and how a? diet change can prevent them. Aamir Khan says that the video showed him how to lead a better life and therefore he turned vegan. Aamir Khan has also decided to not eat milk, ghee, paneer as well as Indian sweets

made of milk. But the one thing that actor misses is curd. SinceAamir Khan’s character in his next film ‘Dangal’ is a vegetarian, the change has come in handy for his role. ??Although Aamir and his wife Kiran have turned vegan, their son Azad eats what he wants.

Ahmedabad

SPORTS ROUNDUP ICC WORLD CUP-2015

World Cup: I look best when my bowlers are doing well, says Dhoni Agency : New Delhi In line with local equities, the rupee on Wednesday dipped for the third straight session and eased by two paise to close at fresh twomonth low of 62.78 against greenback on sustained demand for US dollar from importers. Continued slide in local equities amid fresh withdrawal of funds by foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) also weighed on the rupee while some dollar selling by exporters helped the rupee to cushioned the fall, forex traders said. At the Interbank Foreign Exchange (Forex) market, the Indian rupee resumed lower at 62.83 a dollar from Tuesday's close of 62.76. It moved in a range of 62.69 and 62.87 before ending at 62.78, showing a loss of

two paise or 0.03 per cent. In three days, it has lost 62 paise. "The Indian rupee has fallen over the last six sessions against the Dollar as the Greenback holds onto gains amid expectations of mid-year US Fed rate hike. Investors continue to believe that Fed will adopt a hawkish stance at the upcoming policy meeting. The only thing limiting the fall is selling from exporters and other corporates," said Suresh Nair, Director, Admisi Forex India. The dollar index, consisting of six major global rivals, was up by 0.77 per cent. In the New York market, the dollar rose against five of its six currencies on Tuesday as investors worried that the Fed could raise rates prematurely.

Apple Watch: Pricing and cheaper options in India

Agency : New Delhi Like Apple did it earlier, its most "personal device yet" will hit India, one of its fastest growing markets in the past couple of years, after a few months. Expected in July, the base model of Apple Watch is estimated to be priced at upwards of Rs 30,000, and its expensive editions may go up to as high as Rs 10 lakh or more a piece. The company is yet to divulge exact date of availability of Apple Watch in India. According to market sources, Apple is likely to stick to its existing distribution model to push Apple Watch. However, Apple enthusiasts expect that Apple may actually bring its latest invention to

India earlier. There's reason for this. Between 2009 and 2014, Apple has reduced wait time for iPhone by about 91 per cent - from 337 days for iPhone4 to 28 days for iPhone6). Globally, Apple Watch will be available for preview from April 10 in nine countries including US, China, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, and the UK. And, consumers will be able to buy starting April 24. While Apple fans don't compromise with alternatives, the Indian market is full of smart watches - about 10 of them already available or are soon-to-be-launched at much competitive prices.

Agency : HOBART Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara on Wednesday became the first player to score four successive oneday international centuries, setting a new record in a World Cup match against Scotland in Hobart. The prolific 37-year-old reached the landmark when he guided Kyle Coetzer to third man for two runs as the Sri Lankans raced to 237 for

two in the 37th over after electing to bat in the Pool A match at the Bellerive Oval. Sangakkara had made 105 not out against Bangladesh, an unbeaten 117 in the game with England followed by 104 against Australia. The left-hander surpassed six players who had scored three ODI centuries in a row. They were Zaheer Abbas and Saeed Anwar of Pakistan, the South African

Indian eves beat Thailand 6-0 to enter quarterfinals of FIH Hockey World League Round 2 Agency : New Delhi India kept a perfect winning record intact and ended the last match of the pool phase with a 6-0 win over Thailand in the Hero FIH Hockey World League Round 2 (Women) today. The table toppers started their campaign on a high defeating Ghana and Poland in the previous matches. While the game started with a nervous start from the Thailand defence, the Indian eves were constant in attacking from both the flanks throughout the game. The Indian team was seen high in their fighting spirits and was awarded with three penalty corners in the early minutes of the game but failed to convert any of them. With neither of the teams able to open their score card, the goal tally stood nil at the end of first quarter. In the second quarter, the Indian eves were looking to pierce the

carbon dioxide and the important 'signalling' molecule nitric oxide. The Airway Monitoring experiment looks at the amount of nitric oxide the astronauts expelled by the astronauts in the airlock. Nitric oxide is a gas found in cigarette smoke and car exhaust, for example, and it is produced in our bodies to regulate blood vessels and act as an antibacterial agent. Doctors measure the amount of nitric oxide exhaled by patients to help diagnose inflamed lungs and asthma.

defence of Thailand. Amandeep Kaur finally managed to break the defence of the opponents and pierced in the ball from the right flank to score the opening goal of the match for India in the 25thminute through a field effort. Thailand team's goalie Jesdaporn Tongsun showed superb agility and excellent reflexes and placed herself perfectly at the goal mouth disallowing the Indian team to score from penalty corners. Unable to open

bowling options. He smiled and gave a swift reply. "No, I am best when the bowlers are bowling well," he said. He then went on to explain why it makes a captain's job easier when you have a plan. "It makes the job slightly easy for me because you have a plan. But unless it is executed well it can't make you look like a good captain. It all depends on execution. You may have two slips, but if the bowler bowls

their score card, Thailand made a dry run and the scores stood 1-0 in favour of India by the end of the second quarter. After a much entertaining first half, the high- voltage game in the third quarter went full throttle where the hosts continued to build pressure on Thailand. It was through the stick of Jaspreet Kaur who slightly lifted the ball from the ground and struck goal post in the 38th minute with the strength of a penalty corner conversion.

Shikhar Dhawan hits hundred as India crush Ireland

Agency : HAMILTON Shikhar Dhawan hit an aggressive century as defending champions India recorded their fifth victory in a row at the World Cup with a thumping eight-wicket win over Ireland in Hamilton on Tuesday. Chasing a modest 260-run target, Dhawan notched his second century of the tournament with an 85-ball 100 as India lost only

Agency : Auckland Mahendra Singh Dhoni has received rich praise for his captaincy so far in the World Cup but he feels it is the performance of his bowlers that makes him look like a commanding leader. International Space Station astronauts use airlock to test lungs Agency : LONDON Astronauts onboard the International Space Station (ISS) are using the orbital lab's airlock to monitor lung inflammation as well as charting their lung health. Air was pumped out of the ISS's airlock for the first time last week. Inside the cylindrical Quest airlock, ESA astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti and NASA's Terry Virts monitored their breathing. With each lungful of air, our bodies absorb oxygen and exhale wasteproduct molecules such as

trio of Herschelle Gibbs, AB de Villiers and Quinton de Kock, and Ross Taylor of New Zealand. Sangakkara was eventually out for 124 in the 37th over having hit 13 boundaries and four sixes when he was caught behind off Josh Davey. Sangakkara is due to retire from one-day internationals after the World Cup where his team has already qualified for the quarterfinals.

on the pads, it doesn't really look good. I feel that is where the remarkable difference has come from the bowlers' end. They are bowling according to the plans," said Dhoni. In his own inimitable style which is laced with a bit of dry humour and sarcasm, Dhoni said, "You keep telling them "bowl to one line, bowl one line" and that creates pressure. But it was more said than heard by them. But now they have seen it and they have tasted it." "So when they come back for the Test series outside the subcontinent, they will still have the memories that outside the sub-continent a lot of time you have to stick to good lines and lengths, and that is something that rewards you. That will definitely change a lot of things for us. A lot of trouble that we have been having, that will be sorted. "Hopefully, they will retain all the things that they have learnt here," were the words of wisdom from the skipper.

This latest victory meant India, yet to lose at this World Cup and already into the quarterfinals, were guaranteed to finish on top of Pool B ahead of their last group game against Zimbabwe in Auckland on Saturday. Ireland, meanwhile, will likely need a win against Pakistan

in their last Pool match in Adelaide on Sunday to reach the last eight. “We have put in a lot of yards in the last few weeks. It is all about being fresh for Pakistan. If you can’t get up for these games you won’t be up for any,” said Ireland captain William Porterfield. Pakistan, Ireland and South Africa, who all have six points in five matches, will vie with the West Indies (four points) for the three remaining quarterfinal spots on offer from Pool B. “Our bowlers are really doing the job for us, they’ve stepped up — not just the three fast bowlers, the spinners are complimenting them and when we’ve used part-timers they’ve done well,” said India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Agency : Mumbai There is only one thing that Vinay Kumar did not do on

day four of the 2014-15 Ranji Trophy final against Tamil Nadu at Wankhdede

Stadium, Mumbai, and that was wicket-keeping. The Karnataka skipper scored his second first-class hundred taking his team to a mammoth total of 762, helping his team to a lead of 628 runs after Karun Nair's record-setting 328 had put Tamil Nadu out of the equation. Vinay went on to scalp Murali Vijay for the second time in the match, trapping the Indian opener in front for 27 and then took a sharp catch at slip to remove Baba Indrajith off Shreyas Gopal. TN, after spending close to three consecutive days on the field, ended the day at 113 for 4, trailing Karnataka by 515 runs. There is no denying the fact that Karnataka will retain their title, a feat they first achieved during the 1997-98, 199899 season.

World Cup: Glenn Maxwell using World Cup as gateway to Test team Agency : Sydney Having turned out in only one Test last year, Australia's swashbuckling batsman Glenn Maxwell feels a successful World Cup campaign would help him get back his lost spot in the five-day format. The right hander's only Test match outing in 2014 was against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). But he is now confident of a recall in the upcoming tours to the West Indies and England on the strength of his rollicking World Cup form. "The way I thought I was going to get back into the Test team was

by playing really well during this World Cup and I am happy that I am going the right way," Maxwell was quoted as saying by news.com.au on Wednesday. Maxwell feels quite a bit of work is left to be done before he regains his place in the Test side. But Athe Victoria-born is quite sure that his current form will take him closer to his dream. "I still think I've got a fair bit of work to do to prove I'm ready to have another crack at Test cricket again. But when you're not playing a lot of Shield cricket you've just got to play as well as you can whenever you get the

opportunity to play for Australia," Maxwell said. Maxwell, however, said he has nothing to prove to the Australian public. "I have nothing to prove to my countrymen.

Sacked gardener reinstated after 25 years Sunvilla News, Ahmedabad

Twenty-five years ago a forest gardener Ashok Rathod was dismissed from service just because he remained absent for four hours from duty! On Tuesday Rathod, a resident of Bapunagar reported back to duty at Antharsubha range office in Kheda, after fighting a protracted battle for justice in the high court and getting his job back. Rathod had used RTI to prove the alleged mischief of his seniors almost 25 years ago. The forest department had sacked Rathod, and mentioned in his service record that he was absent for four hours at the Nana Chiloda nursery in Gandhinagar where he served as a contract labourerss. He fought a legal battle for 25 years — 1,92,720 hours — to prove that decision of his seniors was malafied. In the two decades of struggle for justice, Rathod lost his job, his wife left him and his kids lost hope. Rathod's only fault was that he had requested the in-charge forester in 1990 to convert his contract job to a permanent one (according to service rules), the department claimed he had not clocked the requisite hours of service. "If the minimum requirement was 240 days of service in a year, the forest official

claimed that I had worked for 239.5 days. Just four hours short. Rathod approached the labour court and after fighting for 15 years the labour court ruled in favour of forest department. I lost the case," he recalled. Rathod did not allow the defeat to weaken him. Instead he used RTI and asked for copies of his attendance registers. The then chief information commissioner, R N Das, gave the case several

hearings till the forest department produced the records. Rathod had worked for 258 days in a single nursery. In 2010, he moved the Gujarat HC seeking revocation of the labour court's order. In January 2014, the court ruled in his favour. "My wife Babita had started making incense sticks to support our children's education. After three years, she asked me to leave the house and the children.

Toxic waste was highly acidic Sunvilla News, Ahmedabad

The illegal toxic waste injected into the AMC drainage line, barely 500 metres from Silver City society, was so acidic that the gas emanating from the liquid had remained in the line for nearly four hours. At 4am, a team of Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) found the discharge to be laden with heavy toxic metals that were a serious public hazard. A 'fingerprinting' exercise of the toxic chemical is being carried out by GPCB chemical engineers to ascertain the origin of the toxic waste. A senior GPCB official told TOI, "The trace of heavy metal we found in the discharge will give us further clues on the likely culprits. There are few companies that use such chemicals that have these metal content. This exercise will take a few hours more before we zero in." The GPCB officials claim that the

gas emanating from the discharge survived for nearly four hours. The GPCB officials were also waiting for forensic reports to arrive to know the intensity of the asphyxiation. "This will give us a clear idea of what really happened on Monday night," adds a GPCB official. Preliminary analysis of the waste has led GPCB teams to certain industrial pockets in the city from where the waste may have its source. The labour and employment minister in a written response to a starred question informed the house on Tuesday that in Vatva chemical zone, the director of industrial safety and health carried out 1,134 inspections in last two years from February 1, 2013 to January 31, 2015. On the basis of inspection, 143 cases of violation of Factories Act, 1948 and other rules were registered, the minister said.
