There had recently been much

speculation regarding a change of leadership in the Karnataka BJP, with many projecting that a section of the ruling BJP was trying to unseat Yediyurappa from the post of the chief minister. “Jumla, Links To Ration Mafia”: Union Minister On Delhi Ration Scheme

Editorial

SUNVILLA SAMACHAR Rss Is Playing Game In Narendra Modi-Yogi Adityanath Tussle Two autocrats cannot survive on the same political plane and the RSS was using the political contradictions between the two Hindutva icon of the country is playing to consolidateits own grip on the ideological frame work which was threatened by their personalitycontradictions, by putting one against the other. The meeting between prime ministerNarendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday in New Delhi butthe outcome, whatever it is, may be fragile. In 2017 when Yogi Adityanath was parachuted to Lucknow to take charge of Uttar Pradesh, the state which represented the Hindu aspirations, the Hindutva fanatics perceived it as their major victory as it would prove to be a major boost to give a shape to their philosophy ofIndia turning into a Hindu Rashtra. But they forgot to comprehend that political economy ofIndia does not allow a smooth passage to the autocrats and their style of functioning. Both Narendra Modi and Yogi Aditynath aspired to lord over India and its people. By virtue ofbeing the prime minister, Modi is in an enviable position, but Yogi is also aware of hisimportance in making a future ruler. It’ is a fact that none has imagined that theircontradictions would surface in public domain so soon. It was the arrogance of the twoautocrats that was responsible for culmination of the crisis. It cannot be denied that RSS played the crucial role in giving a vent to their feelings. This ismanifest in putting a restrain on using Modi’s face during the assembly elections to UP and five other states. It is really unbelievable that how could the person who till recently was themascot of the party lose the favour of RSS. It is also interesting to note that the RSS has forthe first time openly come to accept the fact that the BJP lost the elections in Kerala, TamilNadu and Bengal due Narendra Modi. This is not less than RSS passing a stricture against Modi. The RSS which was earlier sure to win the next election to the UP assembly has turnedsceptical after a survey which the BJP has sponsored, found that it would not be able to winmore than 65 seats, a steep decline of nearly 240 seats. It obviously implied that the peopleof UP, especially the Hindus have lost their trust in Modi and Yogi. Though it has put a barbon Modi, by not projecting him as the party’s face, it would invariably replace Yogi by other upper caste leader. In the existing situation the most reliable and dependent face is RajnathSingh, the Thakur veteran. The RSS is also working on the design to forge an alliance with BSP of Mayawati. It is surethat he would be a willing partner and would muster courage to drift away with a number ofcorruption cases against her brother being investigated by CBI, ED and IT. She has no otheralternative but to buy peace by agreeing to enter into an alliance. The major reason behind this move has been the RSS intends to assuage the sentiments ofDalits who had to suffer immense state torture and repression during Yogi raj. The RSS-BJP would send the message that the person who perpetrated torture is no more on thepolitical scenario. Dalits joining the upper caste Thakurs and Bhumihar brahmins would bethe most potent force to win the election.Meanwhile the RSS-BJP has started working to wreck the peace attained by the Muslims and Jats in the wake of the farmers’ movement after a long period of seven years. Alreadysome stray incidents of violence have started taking place in western UP. It is not that thisdevelopment has gone unnoticed by the farmers’ leaders. They have been striving hard tomaintain this much precious bonhomie. They have alerted the jat villagers. The Hindu bigots have already started claiming the symbolic significance of Kashi andMathura as performances of Hindu Unity and as a wedge around which to consolidate acommunal consciousness. This is a project they will prefer to launch well before the LokSabha elections. These places fantasise the rank and file of the BJP and Sangh Parivar. At the other end, to throw a major challenge to the BJP and ensure that it loses theelections, the SP, RLD of Ajit Singh and Bhim Sena of Chandrashekhar Azad have decidedto join hands. They are working out the detail formalities. But as it appears, the sufferer in the game would be the Congress with SP and Azadunwilling to share seats with it. Though after the rout in the Bengal election, the Congresspresident Sonia Gandhi had said the party should take note of its serious setbacks - Kapilkumar M. Hirpara inassembly polls.

This, in turn, prompted a similar visit by BJP West Bengal chief Dilip Ghosh soon after, followed by a phone call by Prime Minister

Narendra Modi on Thursday to Roy, who has been in home isolation since the middle of May after testing positive. Roy had also kept largely quiet since the May 2 result except to tweet his steadfast loyalty to the BJP. In a reversal of fortunes from before the Assembly elections, which saw high-spectacle desertions from the TMC to the BJP, it is the saffron party’s turn now to watch the exit door. While some leaders have made their desire.

We reached out with her in September 2020 to try to engage with her on these concerns she has,” Perkins told the Australian Broadcasting Corp. on Friday. “We have done it again now, and unfortunately at this point we have not been able to have a direct conversation with Maddie to understand exactly what her concerns are, who the people involved are, so that we can investigate

greatness loosely. So, we have to be careful with how we define greatness. According to me, greatness is when a player can be very consistent over a period of time, for years, not one or two years.” Ambrose, who picked up 405 wickets

from 98 Tests and 225 wickets from 176 ODIs for the West Indies, and was considered one of the best fast bowlers of his era, suggested that the best way to determine whether someone is a ‘great’ is to see the overall growth of a player since he first made an appearance. In case of Ashwin, the off-spinner is in his 11th year as an international cricketer and with 409 wickets – which makes him India’s fourth-highest wicket-taker in Tests – Ashwin surely is one of India’s best bowlers of all time. He also has the most fivewicket-hauls (30) by an India bowler in Test matches after the great Anil Kumble.

Tax on jabs by hospitals to be in focus at GST council meet Agency News: Mumbai

Tax on coronavirus vaccines procured by private hospitals is set to figure prominently in discussions of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council, which will meet on Saturday to consider tax relief on medical supplies for Covid management. Consumers will have to bear the tax on Covid vaccines to be procured by private hospitals unless this is removed. This needs to be addressed in the public interest, said an official with a state government. A part of states’ grievance about the

Profiteering is the industry practice of businesses raising the price to the consumer whenever the Centre lowered GST rate—a headache for policymakers on items that are outside controls. 5% GST burden on vaccines directly procured by them got resolved with the Centre agreeing to supply threefourth of all vaccines made in India to them from June 21. While announcing the revised vaccination policy on Monday, PM Modi said no state will have to spend anything on the vaccine. The tax on private procurement of vaccines remains an issue

to be addressed. GST is a tax on consumption based on the product’s classification, not based on who supplies to the ultimate consumer, said the official. “Besides, it is not that all those who go to private hospitals are rich. It is a oncein-a-century health crisis that warrants tax relief,” said the official. Another argument that figured in earlier discussions among policymakers was

the fear of profiteering by private players, but the recent announcement of a price ceiling on vaccines has resolved the issue. The Centre has fixed the maximum price that can be charged by the manufacturer and the service charge that can be levied by hospitals. Profiteering is the industry practice of businesses raising the price to the consumer whenever.
